Is it possible to look into pressing charges or at least contacting the authorities? I mean, you have his address, right? Might be something to consider.
I don’t think pressing charges on a $300-400 item would be worth it honestly.
Authorities, however, may be a good idea. I will try contacting his local police office for more information, but am going to expect the “not our jurisdiction” or “petty” response.
With his address and the fact that I am a little over 3 hours from his location, I will just go knock on his door..nicely.

I'll try to make this as brief as possible - Back at the end of September, i decided i would take the opportunity and Ebay offer from (now former..?) AA forum member Onalok to repair my cd unit.
After a few brief emails back and fourth, i sent my unit to him for repair. While he did not initially live up to his fast turnaround, as stated in the auction, he was to send the unit out a few weeks after initially intended..
This was the last i have heard from him.
Flash forward to today, where i have repeatedly tried to pm/email him, and i have yet to hear a word from him regarding anything.
Onalok has a very notable reputation on Ebay so i don't want to go as far as to accuse him of hit-n-run on this but I would really like this unit back, as it is one of the few items i have to my name that has not only survived hurricane katrina but was also one of my deceased brother's consoles.
Where did Onalok go? Does anyone here know why he left? Does anybody know him personally?
NOTE: Yes, ebay has been contacted on the situation but there is very little in the way of what they can do, as this was a service auction. At best, i would get a $55 refund... : /

It can be found using the Internet Archive web site (which has several copies of the Static Gamer web site at various points in time). I'd find it for you, but unfortunately the site seems to be down at the moment.I had tried that as well

I was looking around and found this: http://www.gamefilesland.com/black-ice-white-noise.html
Is the PDF/HTML strategy guide from Static Gamer available anywhere else? The site seems to have gone down.
I dont have the game, i am just running low on reading material and getting curious.

Hey Raven, I'll pay you good money to make a Brett Hull Hockey Jaguar box!!!I, as well, would ask you if you could make another repo box for SW2k.

The Marine in AVP is a Colonial Marine, while the Marine in the Doom series is a Galactic Space Marine. As for the Twin Galaxies listing, it's just wrong, as there is no Jaguar game with that title. It's probably in reference to AVP though.holler at your boy.

most likely AvP's Pvt. Lance Lewis(?)

somebody got this for a really good price, wow.
id say! that is about as cheap as it gets for a semi-jagvr.

speaking of: i just received a pro controller but my jag is at my dorm(in other words, cant try it yet). what buttons on the pro does it utilize? All of them. It depends on the game. Most games from '95 and after were made to utilize the pro-controller by control option choices (standard or procontroller) and designated button configurations. Missle Command 3D, I-war, Atari Karts, Battlesphere, Battlemorph, Primal Rage, NBA: Jam, Fight For Life, Highlander and quite a few others all have a direct option between Procontroller or standard. But Atari designed the procontroller to be backward compatible too, buy make the Left&Right shoulder buttons and X, Y&Z map to buttons 4&6, and 7, 8&9 respectively. So all the games made before the procontroller which have buttons used that match those numbers, they can be accessed from the procontroller's new buttons as well. For example, on AvP, the left&right strafe movement is normally done down on the keypad on the 7&9 buttons, now, with the procontroller the strafing can be accomplished as used far better by pressing the Z&X buttons. On Iron Soldier 1&2, the 4&6 hip-weapon buttons are moved to the shoulder L&R buttons and the 7&9 buttons (hands) can be accessed with the Z&X keys, so all the further you ever have to reach down on the keypad in Iron Soldier are the top row 1&3 buttons to access shoulder mounted weapons. It goes on and on, any game that uses a keypad&overlay extensively can take advantage of the pro-controller.
ahh i see, well i got to try it out on SW2k earlier today. i have to say its nice being able to look left n right easier, but i still have to reach down n press on the keypad to look back forward. not too convenient. but hey, game is incomplete. maybe something was being planned.
anyhow, i take back any bad thoughts i had on getting the pro controller. i only paid $20 for it new the other day and even though i lack a large amount of games to try it with, i will take your word for it that it is better in certain games.
Some games may seem better right away, and others make take a while to get used to the new way of controlling the game. Give it a bit of time to grow on you in games that you've often played with a standard controller. I've never looked back myself basically, I use it on nearly every game, except for the absolute few that don'e use the keypad hardly or at all, like Raiden, and this is only to save a bit of wear and tear on the procontroller with the massive button pressing needed for Raiden and Zero 5 and similiar games.
true. I think if i try it on something like Ultra Vortek, i will find the standard controller suffecient. also, in 2 player mode games, i think the pro controller will be unfair in certain circumstances.

I for one think its a shame if you guys disable the ability to play roms on such a device due to a small number of members in the community that think the Jaguar is some special case compared to other systems where such devices as the Cuttle Cart II are just a benefit.I hope you reconsider crippling the device to satisfy a couple people.

Jaguar CD repair by Onalok..?

So thus far, he has committed petty larceny. I plan on visiting his Mobile, AL location next month (no response on this yet) with follow-up paperwork in hand..HOWEVER, if his eBay residence status change is taken to be true, he may not have only committed petty larceny but also federal charges, as he would have crossed no less than 2 state lines with "stolen" merchandise".
Tldr; criminal with a record, can't be trusted.
