Wait a minute... I just checked the past few weeks, and it seems that bobafett should be 10th place, and I should be 11th since he got to 51 points before I did. So what I should have said is, "Look out bobafett!"
-
I won't let you pass me bobafett! Unfortunately, I don't seem to be very good at this game.

Fellow Atari Man's lead over me is going to grow this week, but I think I'll be able to hold my place. Maybe next week!
-
The middle is not the best place IMHO
- Ill post my 2 spots after the contest
To each their own, I guess, but the middle is where I like to stay. I'm interested to hear where your 2 spots are though.
I have to say, I love this game in all its incarnations, even this version with all its flicker. However, would it have been so hard to add the Arena?
BTW, what is the difference between the 2 difficulty settings? Does "extra sneaky Worlings" mean that they are invisible more often?
-
Oh yeah, tips.
In each of the 2 mazes, the best spot to attack Worlings from is in the middle of the screen, with walls on your right and left. keep shooting up, but also watch your radar for any Worlings sneaking up from the bottom. This tactic works best on the second maze (with the longer corridor in the middle) since the Worlings are more likely to walk in front of you.
When the Worluk appears be sure to block the exits so he can't escape. It's very important that you shoot him because if you do you will earn double points for everything you shoot in the next dungeon.
To get the Wizard, you want to find an open space (the left-to-right corridor near the top of the screen works well). Keep shooting left and right and eventually you will hit him. Just make sure you have a way to jump out of the way if he gets a shot in your direction.

Not bad for trying to play with a squirming baby in my lap.
-
Well, I've missed the past 4 weeks, but maybe I can squeeze a game in this week. (It is Wizard of Wor after all!) I've only fallen back 2 places, so that's not so bad.

@kemsted: I wasn't sure if you're last score should count, but since either score would put you in 8th place I let it count.

You know, it's way too nice outside for me to be inside playing Berzerk...
-
Starpath had a few. Sword of Saros and Survival Island were available through mail-order only. Also, Communist Mutants from Space included a mail-order form for a poster of the box art. Never seen one of those though.

Game 9 is the only way to go in this game. Otherwise it gets old real fast.
Frenzy... now there's a game I can enjoy!

NTSC Subterranea is definitely one of the hardest rarity 6 carts to find, but not enough to make it a 7. I think it tends to demand a higher price because (1) it's a great game and (2) Imagic is a popular mfr to collect and this is inevitably the last one most people need (barring the oddball not-for-general-consumption carts).
Hmmm.... which one of these does not belong?
Halloween
Shuttle Orbiter
Springer
Subterranea
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Wall Ball

Please disregard my last score. I forgot to put it on game 4. My new high score is 1,885.
Also, sorry to bust your chops Rob but it looks like you have the difficulty switch on B (2 guys) not A (1 guy).

The variant has a few notable differences to the ROM on the AA website -:You get only 3 points per suitcase to start with.
The game resets if you hit the fire button.
Your baggage handler doesn't fetch out your three bags (lives) at the start of the game.
It seems a little easier to control (to me, anyway).
Thought it was worth mentioning, to avoid any confusion.
I am playing with an original cartridge, and it plays exactly as you describe this variant.

Each round the points go up correct?
What is your total at the end of the first round?
75? I have the blue label cart. First round is 4 points per bag, for a total of 100, then 5 points ea, overall total of 225, then 6 points ea for a total 375, then 7 for 550 total, it keeps going up, Funny there should be two variations of this!
I was playing the green label cart and yes, my total at the end of round 1 was 75 points. I got out my blue label cart and sure enough it contains the 4 point ROM. The downside of this is that now I need to keep both versions since it isn't just a label variation.
From now on I will use the blue label cart since that seems to be what everyone else is doing.

So, does the random number generator also pick the difficulty level, or do you just automatically go with the hardest?

Anyone know who the winner, wonder007, is?

There's a total of 1,270 games on those multi-carts. Give the guy a break!Don't email me asking me what games are on the cartridges. I'm not going to count and list all the damn games.Well how nice. Just shut up and buy because I'm lazy and don't give a shit. Great sales pitch
