  1. My first official score: 83,530 Played a bunch last night and was able to beat my old high score! That's the main reason why I like participating in these competitions. It gives me a reason to get better at a game and achieve new personal bests. It's kind of like running a race. I couldn't care less about the person in the lead, I just want to catch the person in front of me. chrisbid here I come!
  2. Well, I like homer's suggestion (number of men left when score maxes out). Or you could just do it in the order that people get the max score. My high score on this (from a long time ago) is only like 70k. I'm sure I can beat that with practice, but I doubt I'll ever get 999,999! I think it's a fun game though.
  3. Just think of it this way. I'm increasing the value of yours! Here's a thought for you completionists. There must be lots of different cards with different prizes, placement of Krooks, etc. Your Activision collection isn't complete unless you have every scratch card variation!
  4. If anyone wants to see me scratch this one off, dont bid!
  5. Whew! Not only did I break 100k, I left it far behind!
  6. After playing quite a bit last night, my highest score was 96,800. I've got the same problem as you Mike. I just can't beat 100k. It's those damn fireballs after level 10!
  7. I'd like to get in on this action too! Please add my name to the list. I'll post my own pathetic score soon.
  8. Until last week, the most common game I was missing was Super Baseball. It was the only game less than a 4 that I didn't have (label variations not included) and had been for some time. Yay for Super Baseball! and many thanks to ClubNinja... Now it is Killer Satellites. I actually need 6 rarity 4 carts, but that is definitely the most common. Should it even be a 4? Also, I don't need it for my collection, but I would like a black label Air Raiders to replace my white label. I just think it looks better (and it'll match the others I have).
  9. Actually, I was the one with the VIC-20 while my friend next door had a 2600. I remember really wishing that Activision would make games for the VIC-20! But then we got a C64 and all was good...
  10. OK, this is even weirder. Nothing I did with my 4-switch woody worked. However, when I tried playing it on my 7800 it worked fine.
  11. I just got Spy Hunter (yay!) and had the same problem when I tried to play it last night (boo!). It is quite strange indeed. I'll have to try it again with a standard RF switch.

    Collecting Goals

My ultimate goal is one of each original unique game, complete. Fortunately, that eliminates about half the 10's (for example, I can get Froggo's Karate instead of the Ultravision version). Unfortunately, that means I need a complete Air Raid which is never going to happen. Since that goal is far far away, I like to set little goals along the way like completing one company's collection.
  13. As I understand it, contestants post or email you a BIN file that's essentially a hack of your hack, and if you like some aspect of the entry than you will take it and incorporate it in your final product. Right?
  14. Vertical shooter: Demon Attack Horizontal shooter: Laser Gates
  15. I'm guessing you chose the picture because she is an ancestor of yours. I know the contest's over, but I'm curious to know the answer!
  16. http://atari.room34.com/adventure/winners.php frickin' awesome contest! I wish the rest of you many hours of pleasure vying for second and third places.
  17. Congratulations to bjk7382 and to everyone else who tried and got scores way higher than I ever could.
  18. Same here. Perhaps there's something special about the remaining 8? EDIT: Wait, I just found another one. Gotta keep looking....
  19. I have defeated Grundle and obtained the black key! <= is a little too excited about this.
  20. I have a spare Competition Pro controller for the CD32 I'd like to trade. Do you have a trade list?
  21. For me, a mere 27". Actually, I only got a 27" last year and I'm not sure I've ever hooked an Atari up to it, so it may be only 19".
  22. But she didn't pay for the other auction. The seller relisted it. I would contact the seller of the other auction and ask what happened and why they gave lindamarie positive feedback. Maybe she agreed to pay the eBay fees?
  23. Hey, get out of my thread! I'm embarrassed at how much fun I had just going through all my manuals and putting them in these sleeves. Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision and more all fit nicely. Each pocket is 5" x 7".
  24. Edited list above with what I have left (and added an Adventure manual that I found). I also have these non-Sears mfr. variations for trade: Lock 'n' Chase (INTV white label) Super Challenge Baseball (INTV white label) Super Challenge Football (INTV white label) Venture (Coleco) w/ manual
  25. I just bought a box of 100 Ultra-Pro 2-pocket sleeves, but I only need about half of them. Would love to trade for 9-pocket sleeves (for overlays) or maybe even other designs (3, 8, etc.) Also check my want list. Will trade several for commons I need. (Super Baseball anyone? It's the last 2 I need!)
