What was the last computer you punted to the garbage can?
Keir replied to deadmeow's topic in Classic Console Discussion
A VIC-20 that my daughter dropped on the floor. -
Video Jogger and Video Reflux went for a lot of $$$
Keir replied to homerwannabee's topic in Auction Central
When I think of the Video Jogger I saw at a store for only $25 and didn't buy... that gives me Video Reflux! -
When I used to collect for every system I was all about the thrift stores and flea markets. I was guaranteed to find something, even if it was just a common NES cart I didn't have, or a boxed Genesis game that I only had loose. Now that I'm focusing on just Atari 2600 and VIC-20 I'm relying more and more on eBay (especially since I already have all the commons for both those systems). However, I still have better luck on forums like AA, DP and Denial. I haven't been to the Raynham Flea since last summer. All I bought was a couple records, but I remember the Worldwide Video Games guy had a couple decent carts that were worth the $5 he was charging (I just wasn't interested.)

Maybe I should sell my Turbo Grafx collection
Keir replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Auction Central
Yikes! There are some good ones in there for sure, but I was expecting at least a Magical Chase or even a Bonk 3! At $1,385, that's an average of $31 each. I don't think any of them are worth that loose! -

I think the answer is that there's still 2 days left! However, I put a bid on CC just to make you happy. -
Cost me $12 (and no it's not for sale). All teasing aside, I think that it's too early to decide. It was definitely more common a couple years ago when I got mine, and I missed the NIB ones that were going around (that could be because everyone who got a boxed one was getting rid of their loose one). Right now there might be a shortage but give it some more time.

I can see making Espial a 7, putting it on par with Miner II, but no way is it rarer than Springer. On the other hand I think VGA is right, Springer should be an 8 (I didn't even realise it was only a 7 until now).

Rather than post a want list, I'm going to list everything I have. If it's in cartridge format and it's not on here then I want it! That includes boxes, manuals, etc. Also, if I have listed a box as "generic", then I would be interested in a non-generic version of the box. Pictures of the 2-25-07 meet
Keir replied to christianscott27's topic in New England Classic Gaming (NECG)
LOL Arm farts? So my shirt has a few holes in it. You know, I didn't need that Title Match manual after all... I don't know, but the CV games Eduardo brought were super cool. -
SOLD! Tooth Protectors Instruction Book PLEASE REMOVE!
Keir replied to slosu's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Wow. Good thing Jim asked! I saw this thread a few days ago and thought I wouldn't even bother making an offer because it was probably already out of my price range. Now it really is, but I wonder how many other people had the same thought as me? -
Got my 450th different NTSC game and completed my sears titles!
Keir replied to homerwannabee's topic in Atari 2600
Please don't think my comment above was serious. Everyone has their own definition of what makes a unique game (for example, I count Zellers carts even though you don't) and a collection of 450 is impressive no matter how you count it! I just noticed that I replied to you back in '05 when you reached the 300 mark. I mentioned at the time that I had around 350, but you know I still haven't reached 400? Good luck reaching 500! -
Interest checks for upcoming meet

Super. Thanks. -
Do you still have this? I'd be interested in trading for it. My tradelist is unfortunately way out of date, but you can have a look anyway:http://www.geocities.com/metalkeir/trade.html Otherwise, let me know if it's still available and I'll see what I can find from your want list. Thanks!

Interest checks for upcoming meet
Keir replied to chadtower's topic in New England Classic Gaming (NECG)
I have a box of non-working carts, controllers and systems that I'll bring if anyone wants to take some of it (free, of course). If not, I'm just going to throw it away because I need the space. I also have a crapload of Commodore stuff I'd like to get rid of. Unfortunately, it's mostly non-cartridge stuff (disks, cassettes, books, hardware, i.e. the stuff no one wants). I'm not going to bring any of it unless someone asks me too. I've been out of the collecting loop for a while but now that I'm starting to get that bug again my main interest is VIC-20 carts, so if you have any please bring them! I do already have a sizable collection though, so you may want to check with me first. Chad, I sold my TI to Mark so I may be interested in one. Not sure though, it kind of depends on how much I can get rid of at the meet. -

Keir replied to homerwannabee's topic in Atari 2600
Congratulations! Wait a minute... A Game of Concentration is the same as Hunt & Score. You're back down to 449. Oh no! -
Not much more to add here, but I think the boxed vs. loose price differences are interesting. I was getting really into collecting boxes about 3 or 4 years ago, and then I put my collecting on hold when my son was born in 2004. I'm thinking about starting again and I will definitely be going for the loose carts I'm missing instead of more boxes, due to space and money constraints.

Would you be interested in one of those cassette holders that hangs on the wall? They're perfect for displaying loose Genesis/SMS carts. EDIT: Here's the one I'm talking about (I've since removed all the games, of course): http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/Keir/100_1257

I like it here, but until today I hadn't posted on Atari Age since November 2005! I suppose that will change now... -

Looks awesome! Last I looked at your pictures you had only just started. I can't believe it's done. I wish I could focus on a project and get it done like that. My house is a disaster. (It looks nice on the outside though. We just had the whole thing painted, even the roof. Shiny!) -
Hey Eduardo! I bought Space Invaders Collection from you a long time ago. I hope to see you at the next meet.
