  1. I used to get everything in the wild. Now I either don't have time to go hunting, or I do and I just don't find anything. So lately most of what I get comes from trades. I occasionally use eBay to get something I really want or if I'm browsing and find a good deal. You forgot one other way and that's online dealers. As I've become more interested in getting boxed games I use them more and more often.
  2. It's because of the boxes. This will go quite a bit higher I suspect.
  3. Here's an auction that I think everyone can agree is an example of fee avoidance: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=20387
  4. NOTE: resurrected thread from March 2003 I dug this up because I had a dream last night that I found a 5200 Tapper at a record store. My best finds are always in my dreams...
  5. I have one of these. If anyone wants to trade for it let me know.
  6. The seller cancelled bids by 2 bidders with reputations for not paying. Good deal, BTW!
  7. I always thought it was a chinchilla.

    Here is the distribution of US-released games across the letters of the alphabet: # 1 A 20 B 34 C 45 D 24 E 10 F 22 G 21 H 8 I 6 J 7 K 13 L 7 M 37 N 3 O 9 P 26 Q 5 R 27 S 91 T 26 U 2 V 9 W 9 X 2 Y 1 Z 2 Nothing even comes close to "S" with 91 (19%). "C" is second with 45, the word Cosmic being a major contributor there. The common letter "N" surprisingly has but 3 titles, even less than "Q"! The 5 most frequent letters (B, C, M, R and S) make up 50% of the entire Atari 2600 library.

Cool! I've wanted Xenophobe and Up 'N' Down for just that reason. For Atari released carts, I also need red label Q*Bert, but I should be getting that soon.
  10. Someone had a complete PAL Atari BMX Airmaster at the last NECG trademeet. Err.. I suppose that doesn't help you any.
  11. Oh, and as for "who's right", remember that no two rarity scales are the same. The only valid use for a rarity rating is to compare against other games on the same list. In other words, a '9' on AA is not the same as a '9' on DP or CC or whatever. BTW, congrats on 2 really good finds!
  12. Digital Press lists Waterworld as a 7 and Tapper as a 5.
  13. Rarity lists for most 8-bit cartridge-based systems are available in the Digital Press Guide: http://www.digitpress.com/dpg_plug.htm Lists for systems not in the guide (e.g. 16-bit and up) are available for free here: http://www.digitpress.com/lists.htm
  14. Those are indeed Intellivision carts. Venture is a little hard to find, worth about $5-$10. The other 2 are fairly common, worth maybe $2 each.
  15. I just sent some Atari commons to AA for store credit. Once I get it, I will buy Thrust+ Platinum. Then I will at least give it a shot.
  16. The Activision Decathlon?
  17. 12 guesses later, and there are still 6 options left! I'll guess Jungle Hunt.
  18. So, he had 4.5 of the 5 carts? Thanks for posting all these good BINs even though we never get a chance at them. *sigh*
  19. I have an extra Ghostbusters cart I'll trade for any one of those games you have available.
  20. BIN killer!!!! j/k  I wouldn't have used the BIN anyway. I'm guessing it was $10 like all the others?
