  1. Just to add confusion to the 32-bit debate, a 32-bit console known as the FM Marty Towns was released in Japan in 1991 (2 years before the CD32). If you were just talking about the US or even Europe, yes it was the first 32-bit console, but Commodore's claim that it was "the world's first 32-bit console" is false.

There also was an MPEG cartridge for the CD32 , which is quite rare.I still have one of these.

I'm not jealous.... I'm not. I swear!

The CD32 actually has more games than the Atari Jaguar.

Quite a bit more! 185 by my count, though I haven't confirmed that all of them were released in the US. The Jaguar only had 58 carts and 17 CDs, I believe.

All the games on the CD32 are basically just Amiga CD games, that is why there are so many.

Actually not all of them, though the ones that are unique to the CD32 are really nothing special.

  2. Yep, aware of that... I have actually over 40 *real* CD32 games

Wow! Well, you're way ahead of me in terms of CD32 collecting, though I at least have a console.... :P

I suppose this isn't the right forum for it, but I'd be interested in knowing which games you have.

  3. Hey Brian. You need an expansion module like the SX-1, SX-32, or Elsat Promodule in order to play your Amiga 1200 games on a CD32. That will cost you at least as much as the console itself. Some Amiga games were released with dual compatibility (Pinball Prelude and Wendetta 2175 are the 2 I know of) so you could use those.

  4. Just a few of my own thoughts:

High score saving is a must!

You mentioned Starpath - I think that would be frickin' awesome! Would you be able to do Starpath's Frogger though (what with licensing and all)?

Graphically enhanced (but still 2D) versions of the games on Anthology I would also be a great idea.

If nothing can be done about the controllers, I would suggest skipping any paddle games.

In dreamland I see a C64 anthology like le geek mentioned...

    Thanks for listening!

  5. I can respect this game as a joke and I have nothing against Billy for making it, but personally I couldn't bring myself to play it. It would just make me really uncomfortable. Of course, I was totally against GTA until I played Vice City with a couple friends recently and actually had a lot of fun. There were a lot of things that I didn't like, made me nauseous even, but I just stopped doing them.

  6. I've wanted to get Pitfall II for a long time. I have 43 different carts for the 5200, but for some reason that one always eluded me. Then, when AtariAge started its new store there it was! Brand spankin' new for only $10. So what did I do? I waited. Now it's gone.

I feel like I should be on Wheel of Fish. "So stupid!!!!!!"
