Yep, aware of that... I have actually over 40 *real* CD32 gamesWow! Well, you're way ahead of me in terms of CD32 collecting, though I at least have a console....

I suppose this isn't the right forum for it, but I'd be interested in knowing which games you have.

Hey Brian. You need an expansion module like the SX-1, SX-32, or Elsat Promodule in order to play your Amiga 1200 games on a CD32. That will cost you at least as much as the console itself. Some Amiga games were released with dual compatibility (Pinball Prelude and Wendetta 2175 are the 2 I know of) so you could use those.

Just a few of my own thoughts:
High score saving is a must!
You mentioned Starpath - I think that would be frickin' awesome! Would you be able to do Starpath's Frogger though (what with licensing and all)?
Graphically enhanced (but still 2D) versions of the games on Anthology I would also be a great idea.
If nothing can be done about the controllers, I would suggest skipping any paddle games.
In dreamland I see a C64 anthology like le geek mentioned...
Thanks for listening!

I can respect this game as a joke and I have nothing against Billy for making it, but personally I couldn't bring myself to play it. It would just make me really uncomfortable. Of course, I was totally against GTA until I played Vice City with a couple friends recently and actually had a lot of fun. There were a lot of things that I didn't like, made me nauseous even, but I just stopped doing them.

@MegaManFan: You just missed it by 2 hours!
Thanks, Albert
Hey, I guess it pays to complain after all.

I've wanted to get Pitfall II for a long time. I have 43 different carts for the 5200, but for some reason that one always eluded me. Then, when AtariAge started its new store there it was! Brand spankin' new for only $10. So what did I do? I waited. Now it's gone.
I feel like I should be on Wheel of Fish. "So stupid!!!!!!"

Mountain King is great, but is it really underrated? I know I've seen it on lots of 2600 top ten lists (including mine!)
How about Laser Gates? I think a lot of people probably pass it off as just another side-scrolling shooter, but I think it rocks.

No one has mentioned my favorite yet - Quick Step!

Alas, all I could manage on SCSIcide was 112B47.

I got my copy of Strawberry Shortcake sealed in a trade. I don't remember what I traded for it, but I think the value was approx. $10. I actually gave it to my wife and she loved it, but I would have made that trade anyway because I'm a sick collector. And I love boxes.

Got my prize today!!! Thanks a bunch Tim!
and Merry Christmas!

HA! I just realised that you're talking about the same console! All this time I thought you were debating which version of the 2600 was better, not what to call the heavy sixer. From now on it will be Big Sexy for me!
-
I thought the "heavy sixer" was the original one? It's big and sexy too....
-
Swordquest: Earthworld was originally supposed to be Adventure II, and it is no where near as good as Adventure!
-
Congrats Dennis!
-
That's just great.
Um... is it just me or does Kermit look really freaky? Like his arm is really his lower jaw? Gah!
-
Ms. Pac-Man would be another sequel which was far better than the first (on the 2600 at least). No "two" in the name though....

-
er.... what is big sexy?
And how do I get my hands on one?

-
Wow. Way to go scooter!
-
Hey Mark! I didn't recognize you, did you change your username? Anyway, thanks.
I thought this would go on for an hour, minimum, before someone made the connection and figured them out.If it's any consolation, I happened upon the thread 5 minutes after you posted it.

What I would really like to see is someone release "updated" Atari classics the way Sega is doing in Japan for the PS2:
http://www.the-magicbox.com/game120302.htm
Update the graphics, but don't touch the gameplay! I'm sick of these so-called "improved" versions of classic games that are nothing like the original.
OK, I'm better now, sorry about that. -
Never heard of the game, but from the picture my first guess was Missile Command. Go back in time to protect the dinosaurs from the falling asteroids! OK, maybe not.

Amiga 32?
in Commodore Amiga
Posted
Just to add confusion to the 32-bit debate, a 32-bit console known as the FM Marty Towns was released in Japan in 1991 (2 years before the CD32). If you were just talking about the US or even Europe, yes it was the first 32-bit console, but Commodore's claim that it was "the world's first 32-bit console" is false.
I'm not jealous.... I'm not. I swear!
Quite a bit more! 185 by my count, though I haven't confirmed that all of them were released in the US. The Jaguar only had 58 carts and 17 CDs, I believe.
Actually not all of them, though the ones that are unique to the CD32 are really nothing special.
