  1. Was HERO first released on the 2600 or another system? I've always played it on the C64. I haven't played the 2600 version, but it looks like it was made later and just had the graphics simplified. Just wondering. Love the game. It's on the top of my list of "wish there were a sequel" games.
  2. Second posting toasting roasting coasting hosting boasting mosting?
  3. Hi! I haven't posted here in a while..... Great contests Tim! I really liked the word search. Solved it in about 2 minutes, but unfortunately I was already 3 hours late. Perhaps my timing will be better today.
  4. My favorite (as far as single-button joysticks go) would be The Boss by Wico. I've been using the same one for almost 20 years now! I found the Epyx joystick to be really uncomfortable, but maybe I just have weird shaped hands. If someone wants to trade for one, email me: [email protected]
  5. I guess I should have posted a link to what I was talking about: http://www.atariage.com/howto/storage_tips/index.html Those K-Mart bins have been on sale for a while. I'm sure they're great for other things (storing consoles or controllers, maybe?) but nothing beats these Iris drawers for storing loose Atari carts.
  6. I recently bought one of those Iris drawer units as suggested in "How To Organize your Game Collection". It's great except for one thing. The drawer stoppers are actually part of the drawer! Did they change the design or was I mistaken that they're supposed to be removeable? Unless someone has a better idea, I guess it's time to get out the saw and hack those little buggers off... Keir
  7. Funny, I was just about to email my answers to you, thinking I had one day left (oops!) Glad I checked here before embarrassing myself. Just for the record, I figured out questions 2 and 3, and had the right answer for question 3. (I might have guessed the answer to 2, but I wasn't sure.) I had no idea what the first question was, though! Thanks for a great puzzle!

    I'm cool

    You're "Totally Awesome"!!!!!

    I'm cool

That's right. I was playing Skate Boardin' and I only had 11 obstacles left to pass. According to the manual, that makes me "Cool". I must say, I was really surprised at how much fun this game is. Only 2 more obstacles and I'll be Radical!
  10. What, no Commodore 64? *sigh* OK, I'll vote for the 2600. I'm number 126.
  11. Yes, I struggled with that question of whether to sell each game individually (like Sylentwulf) or lump everything into one. I figured I'd try something in between (hence the lots of 3). If it doesn't work out, I'll jst do it differently next time. Thanks for the advice though!
  12. Less than 2 days left on the 5200 system w/working controller. I'll be adding more games including Colecovision, Intellivision, Odyssey 2, and VIC-20 on a daily basis. http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?...&sort=3&rows=25
  13. I wouldn't say any of those are rare, but you got a few uncommon ones. Definitely worth the $21 you paid. My favorites (which I still play quite a bit) from that list are Atlantis, Cosmic Ark, Q*Bert, and Megamania. I must confess I really like Journey Escape too, but it's not a game you play over and over again.

    No Label

If you're at a flea market with someone who sells a lot of Atari games, you could try to buy all the label-less ones at a discount, like 5 for $1 or something. I know I always find myself eyeing PB carts thinking, "what if it's a Q*bert's Qubes?"
  15. Congratulations, Jeff! And thanks. If no one had won, I may have never found out about the contest.
  16. 176 truly unique games (doesn't include duplicates, label variations, mfr. variants, or PAL versions) It's my largest collection, only recently beating my collection of C64 games.
  17. I only just found out about this contest last night. Harry - I want my life back!!!!!
  18. Mostly at these places: http://www.gis.net/~bertulli/hotspots.htm However, I must admit to a slight eBay addiction as well.
  19. Well, if anyone figures out how to do it feel free to send your old tapes that you no longer need my way! I recently went through a Supercharger phase and I was determined to get every tape for it. After all, there are only 12 so it can't be that hard, right? After losing many an eBay auction to bidders far more saavy than I, I now have 1 Supercharger and 3 games. Two of them are Commie Mutants!
