A weak start... will do better when I get time.

I also have two Expandovision units. These were brand new, but the shrinkwrap had to be removed because it was decomposing. Yes I know it has a picture of a Vic-20 on the front, but I guarantee these are for the Atari 8-bit.So does that mean that these are also available for the VIC-20? I have never seen or even heard of it for the VIC-20.
Sorry I'm not interested in the stuff you're offering, but consider this a free bump.

About 40% of my collection came from Ebay. About 90% came from some kind of online source or contact.Dude, that's 130%. Did they cut the funding to your school or something?
Well obviously the 40% from ebay is a subset of the 90% from "online sources".
For me, the common stuff is almost all from the wild. The rare-ish stuff is a mix of trades and eBay, mostly trades. I'd say less than 5% of my Atarri 2600 collection is from eBay.

Yay! I earned my patch! I'm happy now, I think I'll sit out the rest of the week. Sorry Rob, but Spider Fighter isn't really my thing.

if you can stay alive for the most part, then if you catch the extra life, you can gain more points just by killing the big mothership thing at the end of the board. The more extra lives you have the higher the bonus. Around 250 per life. The bonus is actually (100 + 10 x sector) x lives remaining. Pretty complicated, eh?
My last game for this week, but I was able to almost double my previous score. I knew I was doing well when I passed my old high score and still had 6 extra lives remaining. (The most extra lives I had at one time was 8.)
New score: 44,180

Nice! I saw that post on DP and thought I missed it. I could use everything in the Grand Prize except the 2600 and games and the 7800 games (could use a working system though). I'd be happy with just the runner up prize if it comes in small though.

Great game choice! And thanks for choosing Expert. Much more fun that way, and better for people like me who don't have lots of time.
I promise I'll post a picture next time. I didn't realise I was so much better than everyone else.

Well, I was able to improve my score over the weekend. From 419.8 to 421.
That's it for me I guess.
-
I haven't played a lot of homebrews/hacks, but I'll put in a few votes:
1. Qb
2. Thrust
3. Marble Craze
-
Thanks for the offers people, but I'm not looking to buy (unless you're selling real cheap  ).
Updated list.

I just got a Joust cart with "P" on the end label and it works fine on my NTSC TV.

1. 1 point intervals between 1st to 10th, starting from 11 to 2.2. 1 point for participation (the 1 point is included into the top 10 score)
3. ToddRogers puts in an extraordinary score, called Beat the Champ. You beat it, you get double points. (The double points does not carry to the Best tips if you get that as well)
4. It is weekly, but it'll end Monday night, that gives the rest of us time to play with odd days off.
5. Best tips is 2 points.
All this sounds great.
I think the season should be longer than 12 weeks, because a lot of people can't (or don't want to) play every week.
Also, I am one of the people who never got to pick a game. I would like to have that opportunity but I won't complain if everyone else wants to scrap the old member list. I would, however, like to offer another suggestion that combines both methods.
1. Keep the list as it is.
2. The next five people on the list each pick a game (and difficulty setting).
3. The HSC as a whole votes on what the next game will be.
4. The following week, the 4 people whose games lost the vote plus the next person on the list pick another 5 games.
5. The person whose game won the vote, and anyone who was supposed to pick a game to be voted on but didn't, are moved to the end of the list.
Sorry if that is too complicated, but I tried to incorporate all the good ideas that have been suggested. One thing that hasn't been discussed much that was a problem in the last HSC is how to deal with "deadbeat" players, so I tried to include that too.

Can I just ask those people (and anyone else who feels the same way but hasn't posted) - if some new rules are brought in to handicap or disregard Todd's scores, do we have your guaranteed participation in future weeks of the HSC, otherwise why are we even bothering to discuss this? Don't get me wrong - the points you're bringing up (especially Aimee, Stan and Sku_u's arguments) are fair and valid, but what's the point of changing the rules if you're still never going to play?Honestly I would probably stop participating. When people start taking it so seriously that other people are excluded because they are deemed to be “too good”, it’s no longer fun. I simply can’t fathom the concept of not wanting to play just because you know you can’t win. I hope that the people who feel this way don’t carry that logic into other parts of their lives because that’s just sad.

So we're keeping Supercharger games seperate? OK, I didn't realise that. Seems odd, but I'll play along. Please make changes as shown below.
New list with Supercharger games seperated:
1 Pitfall II
2 Frogger
3 Mountain King
4 Cosmic Ark
5 Demon Attack
6 Adventure (was #7)
7 Q*Bert (was #

8 Quick Step (was #9)
9 H.E.R.O. (was #10)
10 Pressure Cooker (new to list)
Top 5 Supercharger games:
1 The Official Frogger
2 Escape from the Mindmaster (was #6 on main list)
3 Dragonstomper
4 Rabbit Transit
5 Fireball

OK who wants the scores of 1 point apiece seperation or 2 for the top 3? I'm throwing up a majority vote.I'm in favor of just 1 pt. difference.
Todd gets 1st place every time, yeah, but that presents us all with a challenge. Besides, if you're good with tips, and get 2nd place, you are above him by 3 points
I beat Todd on The Official Frogger!
(Mind you, that was during Hurricane Francis.) -
So we're restarting? I don't mind, it's just we should have a preset restart date, that's all. And what about this week's game?I agree. I don’t have a problem with resetting the HSC, but I don’t like how Adv. of Tron was retroactively changed to week 1. The first HSC should be allowed to continue for a couple weeks and end at a predetermined date when the new HSC will start.
Implementing a new scoring system that awards 1 point for participation is probably the best reason for resetting the HSC, since I think it would encourage a lot more people to play.
I don’t really like the idea of random stop times.
Anyway, it’s been fun and I hope no matter what happens we can keep the HSC going in some form or another.

Updated list with some new stuff for trade. I can't believe that I've only acquired 1 of these since my last update in July! (It was Dishaster.) I have got a few of higher rarity however, as well as some label/box upgrades, so it hasn't been a complete bust.

It's easy to come up with 10 games, but putting them in order is difficult so I would tend to agree with Manuel. People should just list their top 10 in no particular order. However, for now here are mine in order of preference as best as I can figure:
1 Pitfall II
2 Frogger
3 Mountain King
4 Cosmic Ark
5 Demon Attack
6 Escape from the Mindmaster
7 Adventure
8 Q*Bert
9 Quick Step
10 H.E.R.O.

No, they definitely get harder as you go. I just made it to part 3. No clue what I'm supposed to do!
