Scarce around here too. My wife found one of 3 (at Wal-Mart!) & gave it to me this weekend; I was prepared to wait another month. I like it. It runs Silent Hill & BRAHMA Force, which my Launch Day PS2 always had issues with. Strangely enough, I didnt find any warranty info in the package....

Guess that's why Microsoft had to shrink theirs down, while Sony's design has gone basically unchanged for a decade & has withstood the test of time.

I saw a Holiday '04 DD w/out VJ2- it had: Killzone Ace Combat 5 Silent Hill 4 Jak 3 Ratchet & Clank: UYA Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater among others. BTW- I got an email last week warning me about the mem card problem. I'm still waiting on my DD though!

I guess, but I like to have it onhand right there. I often go back & read reviews & stuff, before or even after I get a game. The review compendium lists in some mags are invaluable.

Well everyone, I feel about this big (.) right now. I just sat down for a casual game, not even attempting a high score, & I managed 17,480 on Advanced. I feel really stupid. devwebcl, I apologize PROFUSELY for jumping to a conclusion. I believe you. The "Native/congrats" screen turns from green to blue, & the following level has a bluish-purplish background. I drew a conclusion from circumstantial evidence. I was wrong- VERY wrong. I'm sorry. Punish me as you will- I deserve it. PS> Interestingly, in a subsequent (low-scoring) game, there were NO monkeys on the vines during an advanced game.

Just get whatever you see. The cost of Genny games at this point is negligible compared to the fun you'd have playing/building a collection. I've found games anywhere from .99 to $5, & each was worth every cent.

Those graphics are absolutely gorgeous. Makes me almost wanna run out & buy it. Too bad I hate air combat/flight sims.

I think home versions of games are on par/surpass arcade versions these days. If you like a game that much, you'll buy the home version to play whenever you want, & the game pays for itself eventually compared to money you'd spend at the arcade. Also, there's a wider variety of home-based software. Plus the home games are bigger, more ambitious. Arcade games are designed as a brief departure, for a few minutes of play. You wouldnt find GTA, Final Fantasy, etc. in arcades.

Well the pics prove you got the skills but it's hard to believe you got there on skill alone- some luck was involved. Once I only met one monkey on the vines, & a few times I didnt get any large rocks (which also may be jumped) until halfway through the scene. I'm just saying your particular game(s) might've been a bit easier on you- you cant deny sometimes (a player) has an easier time during a session than others. I dont think anyone'll beat your score- congrats!
