  1. Mine's still alive & kickin'...well, I should say I still use it. My original got fried w/ a bad power supply...forget what became of it.

Luckily, a friend who also had one (cuz he thought mine was so cool) sold me his collection (XL, 1010, 1020, & games) for $60.

Used mostly for word processing/journal entries but my game collection has grown quite a bit in the past year or so...

  2. NO stalact...stalagm...ICICLES!!!

JFTR, the 7800 version keeps the game physics intact (players bounce off each other/into creatures, etc. & multiple creatures can occupy a floor) Not so w/ the 2600 version. Boy was I let down...

  3. I meant PGA Euro Tour for the Genny is better than SNES PGA Tour IMO. The graphics seem smoother on the Sega version, especially the ball physics. The SNES has a profound jerky/choppy motion when following the ball in-flight. Other than that, they're virtually the same game. PGA Euro Tour has 5 courses:

    Crans-sur-Sierre (Switzerland)

    Forest of Arden (England)

    Le Golf National (France)

    Valderrama (Spain)

    Wentworth Club (England)

  4. Hey all- picked up a working but bare SNES for $4 yesterday (cables/controller extra) & grabbed the wrong golf game by accident- PGA Tour Golf by EA which I think stinks (I have the better PGA Euro Tour for the Genny). I barely recall a good one from years ago...there were no human players, no commentary, & just a single full course. It was still areally good game! I recall the graphics were really sharp & crisp, but I can't place the name or maker. Please help a "new" SNES owner out!

  5. well, for those who care- I finally made it to Wal-Mart & got an Allsop CD repair kit. It has various pads, resurfacing discs & a battery-powered "applicator" not unlike a teeth-cleaner @ the dentist. I'm not sure if the fluid included is that mentioned earlier in this thread.

Anyhoo, I followed the manual & tried the game CD (Fatal Frame)- & it actually worked WORSE than b4! I could get thru the Himuro intro, but suddenly the game hung up when I picked up a notebook. I decided to use my Disc Dr to fix the "problem" the Allsop caused- & IT WORKED! I playtested for 5-10 min w/ no problems!

So, once again- I stand by the Disc/Game DR- it saved the day (again!)

  6. Well, Missile Command for which system? I think you'll be OK if you mean the 2600 version...I don't see why Joystick mode wouldn't work for 400/800 Missile Command, tho...don't have the game to see.

I think Trakball mode is for purists who want a "truer" sense of control.
