  1. Contestant: "Who gets the car?" Rev. JJ: "I get the car!" Contestant: "Why?" Rev. JJ: "The question is MOOT!!!"
  2. Yeah I was wondering why my ipod hadnt picked it up yet.
  3. Oh & the SNL skit went like this: Rev. Jesse Jackson: "Let's find out what they're playing for, Don Far- Pardo..." Don Pardo: "It's a CAR! It's a LOVELY car! It's a lovely RED car! It's a lovely red car with a RADIO! Back to you, Reverend!" Rev. JJ: "Boy, that sounds GREAT!" IDK why that stuck with me all these years...
  4. Nailed it...kinda sorta. Got a pretty good idea as to next show's too.
  5. Havent heard the show yet, but I think I already know the common theme...
  6. So on Super Podcast Bros, they 'fess up on their big hiatus from May to September- Andy suffered from panic disorders, & sounds like he pulled through OK. Interestingly, thats the same timeframe I was diagnosed with depression & anxiety. I feel much better now, too- a daily dose of 20mg prozac helps me. He watched TV & read; I couldnt do either of those things, & not much else. Anyway, Inky or Dauber (whoever talks to Tim most), tell him Im 99% sure I recently saw the Wii Sin & Punishment at Discland in Bloomington, that's the only retro store I've visited in awhile. Andy said he's in N. St. Paul, I'm about 30 min away. Not exactly sure where Tim lives.

  8. Oh forgot to say this was early 80s, I was 9 or 10.
  9. Wow 10-year necrobump by tangentg! Went back thru it & cant believe I havent answered. I played the big Atari "select-a-game" in Kmart & other stores. I think probably at that time it was just something to do at the store while my parents shopped. Then the kid across the street got one with Pac-Man. After playing it I went home & told my dad how great it was. I guess it became sort of an obsession then, & one time I had my dad take me to JC Penney in the mall to play Atari, they had the latest 5 or 6 systems set up on the counter with a bank of TVs behind. I'm kind of embarrassed now, basically forcing him to take me, but I'm sure I thought that was a good way to push him toward buying our own Atari. Eventually we rented a VCS, with Combat, Space Invaders, & Pac-Man. I know, dull titles but those were what I was familiar with. I remember seeing Activision Skiing there too. We had that about a week. So sometime after that we got one for keeps- dont recall if it was a special occasion (birthday, Xmas, etc). I probably just wore my dad down by incoveniencing him, & the best way to fix that was to get one in the house permanently.
  10. Got some 2600 games from him! Even took some pics I requested of label condition. Pleasant guy, great communication, forgot a promised manual but made up for it by offering a future discount, which I do plan to use. Coming back for more soon!
  11. I prolly got 10-12 more carts since last season ended, with more to be delivered soon, if not today...ready & rarin' to go!
  12. I LOVED Herman's Head! Why'd that ever get cancelled? (I know it was a Simpson's reference )
  13. Was it an official phrase or what? Doesnt seem like something Activision would "admit" too, unless they were having a bit of fun.
  14. Hey dont mean to thread crash but you 2 guys should join our FB group Minnesota Retro Gamers. Just search for that on FB. You may see MRG Society, thats not us, but feel free to join them too- I did.
  15. Yeah Ferg I remember Wint-O-green & Pepp-O-mint Life Savers from that storybook. My oldest sister got that for me one Christmas when I was a kid. She just mssged me on FB, I'm going to tell her about it right now!
  16. Can someone explain the humor in Hughes' Ducati/pit bull story on the latest "Retro League" podcast? (ep. 367) Either I missed something, or I just dont get it.
  17. Dunno if you mentioned it, or if I missed it, but the Spanish verb "chupar" is the infinitive "to suck". Do with that as you will...but I'm sure it has to do with the candy.
  18. Years ago I had...(ahem)...we'll say "access" to a vintage Playboy issue which featured a men's holiday gift guide, they listed the new Atari console & a number of games (maybe the 9 launch titles?) for $1000. But using Ransom's figures above, that would only leave enough for 3.84 games....or Indy 500 & 2 games.
  19. Is "Pop Goes The Weasel" (Mount Ices) even public domain?
  20. When I read "monsterfeet.com" I think Carrington Vanston.
  21. She finally remembered to bring it in to work last night. It's a Flashback 3.
  22. "Shoutouts" for S1500 & me from the host of Rcade Radio podcast...the running gag being S & I are the only listeners. Hope not.
