  1. When Skylab fell I was 7 yrs old & I hoped it would fall in my backyard! Didnt do too bad on Atari finds today: super Baseball Joust Outer Space Backgammon Canyon Bomber Space Invaders blue text label Space Attack Slot Machine Pelé's Soccer
  2. Looks like you got the place to yourself over there.
  3. Yes! Inky says so, at 51:30 Oh BTW forgot to mention, that Dig Dug Arrangement is readily available on the 1st NAMCO compilation disc for the PS2. It also has Galaga & Pac Man Arrangements. The Galaga one is spectacular.
  4. Gentlemen- a number of issues: I believe it's pronounced "oh-HEY-dah", our local newspaper has a Tech reporter named Julio Ojeda-Zapata, which translates to "July Ojeda-Shoe". 23:16- Inky said "1942" which is NOT the direct sequel to "1941"; rather, it's a movie called "1492: Conquest of Paradise" about Christopher Columbus. Never saw it, but recall the TV commercial. IIRR Sigourney Weaver played the queen- or maybe that was the OTHER Columbus movie that came out about the same time. & I thought the theme was "game characters whose offspring have their OWN games"
  5. I'm going cart-hunting tomorrow, visiting a few of my old haunts, havent been in awhile. Should be a perfect day weatherwise, before the snow moves in.
  6. Ok my bad, she clarified tonight she wasnt a kid (& looking back at my post, there weren't P&Ps as we know them that far back) when she got it- her mom bought it just recently, but still insists those 4 games at least, were on it. She was supposed to bring it in, but forgot, so now I wont see it til Sat night when I go back...if she doesnt forget again. She says it's NOT a console, just the joystick that plugs in. FWIW she admits she doesnt know the difference between arcade Pac Man & 2600 Pac Man, so asking her which version of that didnt help. Oh, she says the asteroids were blocky (Atari 2600), not smooth glowing lines (arcade).
  7. No shes an average normal person who's not deep into this stuff as we are- no Famicom clones, no SD cards, etc. she said her mom got it for them when she was a kid (she's 38). i thought she meant an actual 2600 but she said it was a joystick only that plugged into the TV w/ only yellow & white (no red) RCA jacks. No console itself.
  8. So a co-worker noticed my Atari T-shirt & struck up a conversation about it, specifically a Plug & Play she insists had (among others) Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Centipede, & Asteroids (I assumed the last 2 were Atari 2600 ports). I told her I didnt think it existed since 3 different companies made those games, & it was unlikely they all were on a single P&P. Any thoughts?
  9. So Arcade Outsiders is really done? Havent had a show for over a month...though their schedule has been "questionable" to be blunt. I used to be able to lurk over on klov, & check that podcast thread, but a huge pop-up covers it now.
  10. I find that when I have an Atari cart pickup, I listen to Ferg's past episode that corresponds to the game(s). Por ejemplo, last Friday I picked up Atlantis, Bowling (neither of which I ever owned), Yars' Revenge, & a Space Invaders end label variant. IDK where my old YR cart went to, & I never thought in a million years I'd give a good g-ddamn about label variations.
  11. Hmm, I dont think they care enough about it to do that... A decent replacement is Rcade Radio- llike Sean Williams, a couple MN guys do it (one of 'em has been IN MY HOUSE & fixed my Xevious!) they all know each other (coinop collector community seems pretty close-knit around here) so if AO is done we may hear about/from Phet from time to time.
  12. Finally got around to the latest Intarivisions, about Donkey Kong. Willie you didnt say if you ever found any of your old boxed games with your initials on the flap...did you? I expected Ferg to ask that, but he didnt.
  13. Tim are you interested in any print errors we find?
  14. Got mine today. Wife says I've been bugging her incessantly for the past 4 days about its arrival, but I think I've only asked her about it 3 times.
  15. I got my 7800 in high school, sometime betw. 1987-1989, because thats when I was driving & I recall driving myself to buy it. Never got a NES, SNES, or Genesis from a store, so it must've been the Lynx, then Jaguar.
  16. Yes this game always unfairly got a bad rap/poor reviews but I always considered it really good.
  17. Yeah I dont want to get too deep in this discussion here but when mine first started I used that "plenty of other people are worse off" line to help me cope, but it doesnt really work anymore. & feeling emotional & crying to get it out? You know it.
  18. The most insensitive response I ever got,,when recently explaining my depression to a co-worker, was "Wow, I'm glad it's not me!" Yeah, thanks buddy. That really helps.
  19. My wife heard they'll be in Southdale Mall.
  20. Well, FWIW, through a series of FB clues, we discovered that DeLeos is re-opening in a new location- Edina, which is considered an upper-crust (har har) upper-income Mpls suburb. Not sure how this kind of pizza place will fit in there unless they tailor their place to the clientele. I know it's way too far for me to go, or take the family. But good luck to them. Today they posted a pic of their jukebox, which IIRR I posted above was a bit of a negative in their prior location.
  21. When I DO play, I use my 7800 or the ColecoVision 2600 adapter, with a 7800 Pro-Line in both cases. If it's an Activision cart I dont have, I use the PS2 Activision Anthology.
