In the 70's, 80's, and 90's we had the awesome Hobbit movie and "Return of the King". And then to subliment those two awesome movies, the dry but thourough Lord of the Rings which was heavily rotoscoped. The movie completed the series, making for a mostly faithful series all together of Tolkien's works.

To me the 1978 Lord of the Rings is at least better than the three part series of "The Hobbit" which in my opinion was truly garbage. Cutting out the thrush scene... Sacrilege.

Well considering the Beatles and John Boorman tried to make LOTR movie, at Bakshi's got made.
