While I was parked at work, some delightful employee hits my miata real good. He left a note and ran off--how rough for him--I got to wait around the parking garage for 5 hours for a police report, and then dealt with his insurance company. Tomorrow I deal with his adjuster, a tow truck, and figuring out who he works for.

  What importance is it to figure out who he works for, to determine if he had reason to be on the parking lot at all? Or was he driving a company car but with private insurance?

  It's 12 years old with 50k, so there's a chance it's totaled--just as well, since body shops don't really 'fix' cars. They just tart them up so you can sell them to a sucker. https://i.imgur.com/F3YkPwe.jpg
