    A new Star Citizen alpha came out, but instead it's motivated me to go back to Freelancer, or maybe even Space Rogue.

      yep, alpha--coming up on the 9th anniversary too. They don't have the flight model nailed down, don't have travel between systems, no tractor beams, and no interdiction mechanics outside of 'hope they don't run.' But they are on at least revision 3 of their ship insurance mechanics. fun.
