You probably need to add it to the database since I don't think it parses the a78 header very well. Mitch How does one add it to the data base? I assume you mean the 'Prosystem.dat' file? Or is there a tool I need to add it? I'll do it for you/teach you how if I can get a bin.

...possibly. I'm thinking about selling my CC2. I love it, but I'm in a bind and need as much cash as I can get, because of unforeseen veterinary bills from my now passed on cat. I know what they've gone for on ebay, so I know what I can get for it...but I don't want to get screwed over by ebay's listing costs and/or a buyer who backs out/doesn't pay. Anyone interested and what would you be willing to pay?

Your "polite" request essentially came off as an accusation of Gorf being selfish with the game and showing the videos just to torment 7800 fans. He's already made his intentions with the game quite clear, so please refrain from any more posts in this thread on that subject. Fine. Maybe I do come off as spoiled. I apologize, Gorf. But I guess I just got too used to the previous 7800 forum homebrew efforts of Kenfused and PacManPlus being shared through out the process of building the games like Pac-Man Collection, Beef Drop, etc. Or myself sharing the PSP7800 port of Prosystem, and the proper 7800 NTSC palettes files for the various emulators out there that I put together. good luck with your coding. the attract version video does look dead-on. hopefully someone can use your skeleton codebase to slap together more 7800 goodness.

I can't change my heart because laws dictate otherwise. I've been in direct contact with Midway over Gorf in the past. Im not unknown to them. So based on your logic I guess I should not show anymore videos? Several people requested to see a video. I oblidged. Im going to be given BS now? You can't always get what you want my friend. This comes across pretty spoiled. However, you're young, you'll get over it. It just seems detrimental to the community to create something so great, but refuse to share it. You know that you could rename it and wouldn't have to worry about the legal issues, but you refuse to. That's the painful part. I understand the laws as they are written. But you're being such a hard lined perfectionist about the name, it hurts everyone but you. I'm not saying don't post about it. I'm asking that reconsider your stance. I'm not insulting you, even if you think I'm spoiled because I only want to play this game you coded but are refusing to share. Like I said - Atari and the Tramiels tortured us enough with mishandling the 7800 in it's original launch, and the appalling lack of quality (and quantity) games. We've endured enough pain. Lol! Oh, your serious? Grow up will you? This is just insanity. You are tortured over a video game? Amazing. You are so selfishly motivated that you totally ignore sound reason. You feel you are intitled to everything just becasue you are a fan of the system? The arrogance of some of you make it less and less desirable to want to share anything. Every time I've posted something here I get a friggin complaint. Im refusing to share it because that is the law. You feel above the law on this matter than do like I am doing. Leran to code the machine yourself. I wont be posting any more such videos. I'd hate to further 'torture' anyone. Oh, I dont THINK you are spoiled.....it is QUITE CLEAR you are. From now on, I'll share the video privately as not to cause you anymore pain. wow. all I did was POLITELY ask you to rethink your position on not releasing a game you coded. Honestly - if I'd made a post anywhere near this insulting, I'd probably be banned for it. this was completely uncalled for.

I don't want to start an argument or anything, but constantly talking about and showing videos of a game you coded for the 7800, which looks that good, but you won't release because of some stupid name/25 year old copyright issue is really pretty aggravating to fans of the system who post here. Being a fan of the 7800 in the late 80's was bad enough, given that most of the announced/advertised games took years before they ever saw the light of day in a store, if ever. I appreciate your hard work and determination, but really - you're torturing us here by going into so much detail about your efforts, yet you refuse to let anyone enjoy it but yourself. I hope you have a change of heart, for the 7800 community's sake.

New homebrew arcade ports for the 7800 you'd like to see?
Underball replied to Underball's topic in Atari 7800
Why not just call it Borf, and release it that way? -
or do they just spend time arguing their point of view on legal matters? The only time certain people post on here other than arguing legal matters with their completely biased/uninformed views of game piracy, is when they are here on an ATARI Gaming website, trashing an Atari system in favor of another brand, like Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, etc. It's gotten kind of ridiculous, I agree completely. Why can't people just talk about the games they actually like to play, instead of always having to compare and argue like little kids on the playground "My Dad can beat your dad".
-
personally, I'd never seen this version, so I'm glad I found this thread. thank you, you damn dirty illegal pirates.
-
can this be used on existing .bin or .a78 rom files?
-
Funny, when I was a kid, I loved the fact that the 7800 didn't come with those stupid paddle controllers. I always thought those were for "little kids games" and old games like breakout.

Is there a particular reason you're so angry about this? You seem a bit obsessed.

Try actually reading the thread. NO WHERE did I say the Xbox has an "overheating problem" that causes fires and injuries. I said the Xbox has a POWER SUPPLY DESIGN DEFECT. That has nothing to do with overheating. It has to do with arcing across the mains creating sparks. Which is what the original article states was the cause too...
-
I don't understand this thread. In one post artlover is arguing that the story is BS and that the XBOX could never overheat, but a few posts later he is telling people that the XBOX DOES have an overheating problem that has been known to cause fires and injuries. Can you guys make up your minds please?

You don't even need to cut new ones. Get any 50 disc CD-r or DVD+/-R spindle, preferably Verbatim brand. Open proline stick and pull the original foam circle out. replace it with the one on the top of the CD spindle. they are the same size, and the CD-R spindle one is actually less squishy, so it re-centers quicker. Close. done.

I didn't get it too until I read the following: Wouldn't the preferred method be a hand mod to fix what's really broken?
-
Can't we just enjoy the games as they are, and enjoy the new and upcoming homebrews for these systems, and stop trying to compare everything to death? I come here to read about and download atari games I enjoy, not argue about how right or wrong somebody's fanatical opinion is.
-
to get sued over. meh. This is vastly overstated. There are a million DK 2600 hacks on atariage and no one is getting sued for them.
-
I agree completely. I guess I'd just resigned myself to the fact that apparently no one has a 7800 DK disassembly, so they would basically have to code it from scratch - which would be great, but an enormous amount of work.

Just Updated again. Zx-81 released a new version, he added a cheats menu, an "add comments" feature, and sped up the overall emulator speed. Now all games run at well over 100% speed, and with v-sync set to on, they run at a perfect 60fps. I updated the sound engine again to make it cleaner. no more grinding/popping. Also updated the UI to my slightly less-busy, more streamlined version. With this update - YOU MUST download and replace the whole zip, not just the eboot, due to the new features.

Didnt' sound negative at all. These kinds of posts are what makes this homebrew scene great. We all get to contribute to making a new game the best ti can be because we're all really paying attention to the details. Something GCC and the other original 7800 coders never did. and Bob - I apologize if it sounds like I'm encouraging people to dump more work in your lap, but if you're anything like me as I suspect you are, you're not satisfied until it's perfect anyway....
-
Yeah, and as far as I know, he wasn't even running around chopping people's heads off. Nah. They just stockpiled on large caliber and semi-automatic weapons, and planning mass suicide. Nothing terrible or anything.
-
Wow. I can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading here. I agree with Moycon, it's a game, and if they don't like it, they don't need to play it. save the hatred for other messageboards.

Whatchu talkin 'bout, Willis?
