  1. Never mind. It's not worth it. Atarimax has no stated intention of making a 7800 cart, so this thread is fantasy anyway.
  2. You told bob to get a life, and then the mods removed your post. and in this thread you just told batari that the deluxe Harmony was "no deluxe at all" and crassly compared it to other products it has nothing to do with. I own two Harmonys, and was the first person to ask about the possibility of the H2 a long, long time ago. And your point is what? That you get to call btari's products "not deluxe enough" because you ordered 5-10 to resell to people in Argentina at some ridiculously astronomical markup price? How much profit did you turn on reselling them, and not share with batari? $800, maybe $1,000 pesos? Christ, they charge $6,000.00 pesos for a retail Sony PSP down there, when the exchange rate is only 3.5 to 1. (for those counting at home, that's a 1,000% markup.)

  5. Now it all makes perfect sense. No, I meant now I understand why you're being so rude to people like Bob and batari who've worked their asses off to produce quality products. It's because you're from Argentina. I should know, my wife is from Argentina and almost all of her family is the same way. Always offering up unwanted opinions, delivered in the most rude manner possible.
  6. Now it all makes perfect sense.
  7. This isn't Sony's mandate. It's the Blu-Ray disc Association. It was agreed upon by all Blu-Ray manufacturers for HDCP compliance way back even before the HD Disc format war was over. Sony is just going to start following the guidelines they agreed to.
  8. So there really isn't any validity to this idea at all past you wanting one. and you're the guy who insulted Bob the other day repeatedly. insulted? where did you see me insult? and there's a lot more to this "idea" than you know The post where you told him to get a life, which the moderators then removed.

  10. bananas. This game can be had for $20 or less if you're patient enough.
  11. If you want to get technical, beef drop ve was the first title produced to take advantage of the XM pokey option. Or better yet, most of the original 11 launch titles will use the high score cart feature....
  12. Not quite correct. The first game announced for the XM was Dungeon! He said produced, as in - actually finished, exists, and ready to go into production.
  13. This is the saddest part of the whole thing. For many in the Colecovision scene, it has nothing to do with playing the actual games, and everything to do with their wallets and/or their egos. The fact that these games would be lost forever if the ROMs aren't released, or worse - used as some perverse means of extortion is pathetic.
  14. All of these are good except Choplifter. It's not terrible, but it doesn't hold a candle to the SMS/Arcade version.
  15. Seriously? Super Circus Atari Age was announced for the XM *October 2010* - Nine Months Ago - and has been completed since *November 2010*. None of the other games are even completed as of yet. No offense to GroovyBee or Propane13 - GB is a much better programmer for this system than I'll ever be, and Propane13's Arkanoid is on it's way to being a great release. But after trying to put off anyone wanting a Stand-Alone release to have a COMPLETED game for the launch of the XM, I'm starting to wonder why I even bothered. Would it have hurt sales so much to have one GB screenshot, one Propane13 shot and one of my shots? Anyway, what's done is done and it really doesn't matter. So in a way, it's kind of like the original Atari 7800 box, with screenshots of SkyFox and Rescue On Fractalus. Oh, wait.....
  16. The Billy Bob Thornton crack was actually pretty funny. However, I will point out that Foxboro is not Boston. Hey, that's great. Where is Bloomington again? oh yeah, right. Further from Indianapolis than Foxboro is from Boston.
  17. So did you just wake up this morning, look at the Calendar, and say to yourself "Fuck yeah 'Merikah RULES!!! I'ma gunna go get myseff banned frum a internets today! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!" Since you're from Indy, I think it's only fair that when they lock this thread - you should have to chug a bottle of milk like you just won the 500. Maybe that'll help picking all the corn out of your teeth, hayseed.
  18. And you talk like Billy Bob Thornton's character in Sling Blade, with a corn cob jammed in your midwestern maw. Also, in case you missed it: Indy Pro Sports Championships Since 2000: 1. Boston Pro Sports Championships since 2000: 7. Boston > Indy.
  19. Let me guess, Huckle Cat is originally from NY? Maybe Philly? Oh - you're saying you're from Indiana. No offense, but Larry Bird just facepalmed himself aster reading your posts. So much butthurt over your sports teams continually being absolutely dominated by Boston that the best insult you can come up with is "Whhaaaaaa they talk funny in Boston!!!!" Here's the thing: Sure there are townies from Southie, Dorchester, and Charlestown who talk like they have maahbills in their mouth. Every city in this country has people who talk with an accent of some kind. It's not like the NY Guido/Jersey Shore orange-faced umpa-lumpahs sound any more intelligent.Same goes for that awful Spanglish mix you hear in Southern California and Texas. Let's not even get into everyone south of the Mason Dixon line sounding like a wetbrained Deliverance redneck. Or all those midwesterners who can't decide if they want to be southerners or Canadians. What's dat all aboot? The difference is, those townies make up maybe 5% of the population in Boston. Most people come to Boston to get their education, because it's home to most of the US' preeminent Colleges and Universities. And then there's all those Medical Research and Hi Tech firms that people from all over the world come to Boston for. But yeah, it's not like you really know what you're talking about. Everything you know about Beantown you learned from watchin' Mahky Mahk in The Depahted, right tough guy? So yeah - you read an article written by a kid, making fun of Nintendo. Her writing was poor, but the sentiment wasn't really that far off the mark. Nintendo's products target 5-10 year olds for the most part. Cartoony games for little kids. Sure there are some 3rd party games that are ports from the other, more adult consoles. But by and large, the N is synonymous with cutesy Mario and Mushroom bullshit. Oh, and have fun with all that misogyny. Tell Mary Palmer and her five sisters we said hi, fapmaster.
  20. My Trackball was the funnest part. I modded an Atari 2600 trackball to be a Mitsui Serial Mouse. On the CX-80 model Atari trakball, teh Optics are connected to the main circuit board in the trakball housing by 4 conductor ribbon cables. You can cut/desolder these and connect thm directly the the solder points of the optics on a standard Mitsui brand PC serial mouse. Cost me all of $20.
  21. I have this: Which is on par with the X-Arcade stick in terms of components, although I replaced the stick itself with a Steel shaft/Red Ball top from http://www.dreamarcades.com/. It's a Universal, so it has jacks for PS2/PS1, XBox, and Nintendo Gameqube. I modified the Xbox connector to be a standard USB jack, and use it with the Xbox Windows drivers. I also use a PS2 to USB adaptor to use it on the PS3 from MAME/Emulators and Mortal Kombat.
  22. Get the latest version of MAME from the official site. Then, get individual roms from emuasylum or planetemulation. Google these. Or just google MAME .142 roms torrent and download the whole shebang. Be warned, it's like 30gbs.
  23. My 7800 has A/V, compatibility, and LED mods. My Genesis has region mod. My PSP runs custom firmware. My PS3 does all of the above and more. Fuck Yeah, mod the shit out of it.
  24. I know this has been a sore spot in the past, but I an still generally curious - Is it still too taboo to ask which games being coded for this will be available when it ships? Looks liek we're literally a few days/weeks away from this showing up on people's doorsteps. Curt has done such a great job with this, and in keeping everyone in the loop through all the snags. I wondering where the games stand at this point. We haven't heard much about any of them in a while.
  25. Over 20 years ago I went to a local salvage yard to get some parts. They allowed you to pull your own parts, but you had to sign a waiver and stuff before they would let you out in the field. I don't remember the exact figure but one of the guys talking there mentioned that their liability insurance ran into the thousands per month. They eventually closed and I believe most, if not all, of the other yards around me do not allow customers out in the field. JY Exactly. I think also some people are way over valuing the possibility of a retro game store doing well. Sure, the few thousand people here on this site love this stuff. We, however, are a TINY minority of the general public. We don't represent enough or a foothold to keep a small local business in such an obscure niche market viable. We mostly buy stuff from each other, on the internet, thousands of miles from one another. That doesn't work the same for a store in one locality. You're limited to local foot traffic and word of mouth, or whatever tiny amount of local advertising you can afford.
