  2. I always liked Punch Out for the NES. Brings back funny memories. Kinda off topic: I used to have a boxing game for the Apple IIgs and I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. I remember the box was white and had a glove punching through. I also think it was made for Intellivision as well. is
  3. All I have is a Heavy Sixer and a top loading NES. Keep it simple. That's what I like. is
  4. Nice, I have some pics of me when I was about yeah high from Easter. In the background is all of my old carts. You can totally make out the XonoX Ghost Manor cart. Soooo my fave game ever. Nice banana shot too. is
  5. I was thinking the same thing. is
  6. When I was a wee lad back in the day my cousins gave my family their old 2600 stuff to go along with ours. It was 2 systems and what seemed like 100 games. Anywho, my mom ended up giving it all to our church's rummage sale and I'm sure that either some needy kid got it for cheap or some guy that turned around and sold it for much more. But I got a heavy sixer from way back in the day from my gram a few years back and have gotten most of the games again plus many more. God bless my grandma... IS
  7. Yeah, I just figured that out. The pic was taken on a dark background so that I couldn't see the shape of the cart. I'm pretty sure it's the 5200 version. thanks, is
  8. Just out of curiosity, how many labels was H.E.R.O. released under? I checked the NTSC ones in the rarity guide and only found the one with the guy saluting and smiling. Now, I was on the net the other night and came across a pic of a different label. It had a guy with his 'copter on and his back was towards you and holding a flare or something. Can anyone shed some light on this label for me? I've seen the other one numerous times in shops but never this one. is
  9. I use my 6er because... well... she's all I got... is
  10. Hmmm?? I really like this game and one of my dealers here in town has it for $15 bucks I think. It's the only time I've seen this game so I have nothing to compare it to. I usually tend to spend no more than $5 on a cart and that's done me pretty well so far. Just lookin for some input. Thanks. is
  11. No joke.... If you do make this game you should see if you can't use that. That's mega shibby man. is
  12. So... Manuel, any thoughts as to whether this might be put into production or not? I think we've given you lots of great ideas that could make a great homebrew. Whaddya say? It could be a really awesome game. is
  13. OK. That's what I thought but I just wanted to be sure. I was just thinking... What if you could choose your wizard? Each wizard could have his own strength and weakness. Take Betrard, The Fire Wizard, for example. Betrard has the strength of fire. His weakness is ice. His default weapon is the fire ball. Then there's Gelzaan, the Ice Wizard. His strength is ice and his weakness is fire. He shoots icecicles. When these two fight their weapons do more significant damage to eachother than to other wizards like Bazitt, the Thunder Wizard. I dunno, just a thought. Maybe you could make it into a tournament to see who the ULTIMATE SORCERER is. Make the last guy a big meanie who has no weaknesses and is really fast and such. It might work. is
  14. I immediately thought ROTLA. SQ are also pretty complex. Those games don't make a lick of sense to me. is
  15. Wow, that's not how I envisioned this at all. LOL So, Manuel, are you trying to make a true port of this game or did the game just inspire you? Just wondering because it seems nothing like what we've been shooting back and forth. is
  16. What if the default weapon was "no weapon"? Then you'd have both wizards trying to catch the power ups. One would go for the shield and the other for the fireball for example... Greetings, Manuel I don't think that'd work as well, personally. If there's a default weapon it would make the game that much better I think. You could have life bars like in Karateka or any fighting game since. The default weapon makes the least amount of damage and can be used indefinately. You can make another bar above the life bar that shows how much time is left for the power up. You could make it so that using the power up takes over the red button's function. Originally the button would control the fire balls but say you got the Triple Fire Ball power up and then you shoot those until the bar runs out (it'd be constantly depleating). You could make it so that even the sheild has to use the red button. It would still depleat the bar no matter if you pushed the button or not. You could hold down the button to keep it up. You could make it so that you had to lower the sheild to pick up another power up. You could also make other power ups that increase your health. Man, I'm spurtin' ideas off left and right. I should go to bed. Last final tomorrow at 7.45 am. Calc II. Then I get to drive 10 hours home. Fun day tomorrow. is
  17. You could just make it power ups. Make the fireball the default weapon and have little, different coloured shapes pop up now and then at various points on the screen and if a wizard manages to run over it in time he acquires that magic for a predetermined amount of time. The sheild power up could last for a few seconds and allow for the wizard to get to a wall or another power up. is
  18. I have no idea how Silicon Warrior plays or anything about it but when I read this I immediately thought of Archon. You could do something like that pretty easy I think. Have the two wizards shooting magic things at eachother. You could throw some randomly appearing powerups that make you shoot in different patterns or for different amounts of damage. Walls and obstacles could make things interesting as well. My two bits.. is
  19. Looks cool and doable. I checked out your site. Pretty talented. You have some nice ideas for other homebrews too. I'm no pprogrammer but good luck with whatever endeavors(sp?) you encounter. is
  20. That's just what I was gonna say. Those dragons were very nicely done. I'll also give it up for the Berzerk robots. I've seen the same basic concept in many games for many platforms. Robots with spinning heads that shoot lasers are just cool. is
  21. Looks like it to me. I'll take it if you want to get rid of it. is
  22. Me too. It was in my first batch of games and I quickly mastered it and still enjoy whipping it out for a good rumble now and then when I'm home. One of the classic joys I'll cherish. is
  23. much better You are all just my pawns hahahahahahhahaha! sorry, it's late. I should go to bed before I post some more. is

  25. No no no no no. See, what you do is you dangle that PP cart in front of his face until he promises to give you that A. Then you let him play. Bribery got me through high school. almost is
