  1. Why is my Weller WES51 soldering station so bad!??Nothing but cold solder joints even with flux.

      Remember, you're not "painting" the joint with the solder on your iron; you only need to wet the tip to help ensure that the heat is spread properly and evenly when you actually solder the component into place. So, wet the tip with solder, then touch the tip to the pad very close to the leg of the component you're installing. Allow the pad to heat for a second or two, then add a bit of fresh solder and let it flow around the component leg and through the hole.
