Heck even without a Label it was worth the cost + shipping for just the Condor.
Not eactly sure since the picture is so out of focus but it looks like the label is only
coming loose and curled so its possible it could be glued back down leaving only
creases

Thought I would try to find someone in Japan to trade Video Games with specifically
Fairchild Channel F items but also interested in Famicom games
I have many games for many platforms and could even buy them to trade with, Been
around since the old newgroup days (rec.games.video.classic) before the
World Wide Web (www) and ebay since 1996 still with 100% feedback
If interested Please PM me here and we can work out the details

Oh cool its on my watch list as well
Did you see her statement
" I DID MY HOMEWORK ABOUT THEM AND WHAT THEY ARE WORTH "
I wonder what her grade will be ?
I did send a message asking she does not end this auction early
as I will be bidding in the last few seconds, so if anyone is
going to try and do a side deal forget about it

According to :
Nicholas F. Talesfore
Manager of Industrial Design / Graphic Design
AT Fairchild Camera & Instrument, Exetron Division
The Box and label artwork was done by
Tom Kamifuji
Tom Kamifuji (famous local Bay Area artist) was hired to design the little square icons you see on the early labels.
On the later labels these were eliminated for cost reasons.

One of the very few I need to complete my set. Unfortunately starting bid is far out of my price range.

Sadly that seems to be True for just about every games system, when I get down to the last few titles I need to
complete the collection the cost goes up accordingly
less then 10 hrs left on this one

Some good news while getting my TRS 80 Monitor out of storage so I could test the COCO 3 and Disk Drive
I found a TRS 80 2000 (you know you have been collecting to long when you find a complete system that you
forgot you had) will need to go back to storage and pull it out for testing it has the CM-1 Monitor, Keyboard
and a fast look at the back of the computer I saw two 128k memory boards, all the bays were full
but dont rememberexactly what the others were also it may be a 2000HD as I only remember seeing one floopy
Once I get the Coco 3 and disk drive tested I will have to decide what kind of feedback I will need to leave ?
-
Well got the COCO collection yesterday, Sadly yet again I have fallen victim to poor shipping

Thankfully the damaged items were not the items I was interested in seems the Cassette player had
damage not mentioned in the auction (melted area by the battery compartment) the COCO 2 now has
case damage along with the printer plastic cover that is now smashed into 1000 pieaces.
The seller aparently felt putting a single layer of bubble around each item would be good, yes this
would work if the items were not just put into a box about twice the size needed. Each item although
wrapped in bubble wrap was free to be move around inside the box, this collection had two COCO systems
a printer and the disk drive all of which are heavy and when left to postal abuse were getting slamed against
each other with every transfer causing damage to the plastic cases. Again thanfully the items I was most
interested seem to have arrived in good condition (hoping the abuse did not damage anything inside the disk
drive or the coco 3 )
I should really give up buying anything in lots seems a large percentage of sellers just cant be trusted
to use the most basic common sense when packing

Yes its mine

For Auction (ebay) Channel F CHECKERS # 19 CIB
item number 130556348297 in really great condition
all items are pictured and enlargable (tested and working)
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 130556348297
A little history about the checkers game and its procuction
It was only released by Zircon and only in limited numbers.
It was first made available in the FALL of 1980 in a mail flyer dated
10-29-80. This was the first production run of new carts released by Zircon
(checkers was never released byFairchild)
This run of games sold out in 30 days.
The Second time it was available was the Final production run of checkers
in MID 1981 again only available for a short time, and again it sold out very quickly,
probably due to small production numbers. At this time Zircon was selling by mail order
so production was limited
Checkers was NOT available for the 1981 Christmas season
Effectively Checkers was available for less then 30 days in 1980
and only a few months at most in 1981 by mail order
This information is documented on my Web site in the TimeLine section that can be viewed
at the following link
Thanks for looking

The seller recently added the following info
I Found the following info here: http://mcurrent.name/atarihistory/atari.html#AWarnerCo
October/November 29-1: Atari sponsored the $50,000 Atari World Championships (Centipede tournament) as part of the Tournament Games Spectacular $400,000 Weekend at the Chicago Expocenter, a production of Tournament Games, Inc. Mariann Layne, Atari's Manager of Marketing Services, organized the Atari Tournament.

Oh yes someone did

FND? What do you tell Thanatos for posting that for you???!?!?
Nice score, bro!
True a THANK YOU is in order.
Thanks for taking the time to post this Thanatos you made my day.
I was surprised it was still available when I checked, usually good
deals are long gone by the time I look. I even took the time to read
all the info and check the shipping and then log in before I hit the BIN
AtariLeaf
I will need to check if I have another copy of the Doubleback cart and if
so I will let you know
Hey, no problem. Happy to get more people into the CoCo community - although, if you might have a double of one of the games, maybe you're just hoarding hardware...

No not hoarding I need the disk drive and can use the coco 3 as a back up

Cool. Let me know when they are on the market. I need that Checkers. Do you have a list that you work from that has variants and everything? I haven't been able to find a real good Channel F checklist.
Only my personnel list and collection that can be viewed on my web site with pictures of all the different games
variations it can be viewed here
Note you can click any of the yellow boarder boxes to be taken move around the site there is much more than just
the games there are newpaper articles, time line list, interviews, paperwork, game instructions, pictures and list
of game production dates. There is also an international section but it is still under construction.
Also I have never updated the number 22 with the alternate version notation as this was only noticed when I had received
some games from a Sales Rep with some demo carts and the alternate version was in the collection the second one I had
gotten from the son of a guy who may have been working at Zircon as a programer (I could not verify it)
There is aother thread here somewhere with screen shots I will try and locate it and edit this message later
EDIT: Here is the link to the other thread with pictures of the alternate number 22

That sucks man. In cases like this I almost always request that the seller take extra care of the important game in the lot.
Oh I did, I asked that the items be packed carfully as I am a collector and the boxes and paper work are more important to
me than the game system, apparently he felt stuffing it all in the white channel f box and shoving that into another box was
carfull packaging ?
BTW I will probably be selling a Boxed checkers in the near future along with my second Alternate version of the number 22
Slot Machine the one without the "Purse"

Did the Checkers box come out ok? My snipe was a bit to low to register on this one, but I really wanted that Checkers. Definitely one of the toughest non-demo games to get. Too bad he shipped it like 4 year old would.
Actually NO it arrived with some minor damage on the back of the checkers box, lucky though as it could of been much worse,
it was the one game on top of the Channel F plastic cover that arrived cracked had there been much more pressure on the
outside of the box I am sure it would of broken through fully and probably would of torn /ripped the (checkers)box
Side note I am now convinced the White Channel F box was not a shipping box but the Zircon re-release that would of been
printed after they ran out of the boxes made up by Fairchild. The reason is there is a wards price tag on the outside of
the box showing it must of been sold at a wards also the paper work is for sure from 1982 which was near the end of the
Zircon Channel F sales and after there second and last run they had made after running out of the Fairchild stock of games which BTW were all re-released in the Zircon white game boxes

Much more to the point
than my "Thank You" Neutral post -
Should've been a negative. **** 'em.

Recently had a bad experience with Ebay Member estate-find
I purchased this ebay auction
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 230630912849
I was mostly interested in the Checkers game and the White Channel F Box
Shipping was only "10.10 Expedited Shipping"
When I recieved the package it was Postage Due. to the sellers credit I contacted him and
was given a refund of the postage Due.
The second problem was the packaging it was all smashed into the White Channel F Box and pushed
into another box nearly the exact same size, no packing or protection and since some of the games
were on top of the channel F cover it was cracked and some damage to the game boxes was evident
since I was really only interested in the White Box and Checkers game I did not even mention this
problem to the seller and figured I would just let it go as I did get what I was interested in and
he did refund the postage.
Next I get constant ebay messages asking for feedback ? I ignored the first few but after the third or
fouth pushy messages asking for it I granted his request and left Neutral Feed back. I then started to get
constant messages complaining that he had given me such a deal and questing weather it was indeed
postage due ?
Again I ignored the first few but this last one I had to respond to.
Here are the last two first was his message second is my final response
His last message
"
Dear f-n-d,
I am not at all sure what your problem is with the auction you purchased from me as I believe you received a great deal at an incredible price, and your subsequent lack of communication skills, therefore I am placing your ebay account on my blocked list for the rest of the various Fairchild auction items and other various 1st generation items I will be listing on the ebay
"
My Last response
"
Dear estate-find,
Apparently you have too much time on your hands and are becoming bothersome.
You have already been put on my "not to be dealt with list" so go ahead and
block me that will help out in the event I make a mistake and forget.
The only reason I left feedback at all was because you were being a pest
about it so I went ahead and left the best I could, your really lucky it
was not a Negative which you truly deserved. As you must remember I sent
you pictures of the package with the postage due sticker
from the post office so your snide comment that I "claimed it was postage
Due" was rather uncalled for as you were given proof. I however did not
mention or send you the pictures of the over stuffed package you mailed
with no protection for the items inside. The one game I was interested had
some damage to its box when it was pushed through the plastic cover of the
Channel F game system due to you trying to smash to much into a box I did
not mention the broken cover or damaged box and just chalked it up to
another bad seller and was going to just let it go but your constant
pestering for feedback forced my hand and I went ahead and granted
your request. It should have been a Negative but I was being Nice.
In closing this is the last I want to hear from you. Do not contact me
again If you send me any more messages through ebay of by any other means I
will contact ebay with a complaint of harassment.
"
Have I been unreasonable ? I only left Neutral, maybe I should of let him
know sooner but really I did not want to continue this and was trying to
just let it go . Looking back I truly believe it would of continued back and
fourth as he seems to be the type who will not let it go.
POSTAGE DUE STICKER

Mailed using 3 lb 15 oz and as shown it was really 10 lb 11 oz

Top of box with the Wax paper box on top to show how much higher the middle is then the rest of the box

Bottom of box with the Wax paper box on top to show how much higher the middle is then the rest of the box

Seller - Banner Advertising
The next new thing to announce is we are opening up our banner advertising to enterprising sellers who want to better promote their GameGavel stores or personal store websites. Our banner advertising runs in the header and footer areas of the GameGavel marketplace and forums. It is a great promo piece that can show everyone what you specialize in (retro gaming, modern gaming, specific systems, imports, Anime, etc.) and drive buyers to your GameGavel store or your website. Banners run $2/1000 impressions and can be purchased here - http://buysellads.com/buy/detail/59664 . Give it a try!
Question ? since I have never puchased any Banner/ad space the pricing is somewhat vague to me what is IMPS?
I would think Impressions ? how do they work ? is it pay each time someone uses the link ? or maybe each time
you show it on the site ? how it is calculated
Thanks in advance
FND
