Channel F System II WAS sold/released by Fairchild
FND replied to FND's topic in Classic Console Discussion
No, but Zircon made Atari/Commodore/Etc-compatible Channel F-style controllers called the Video Command. The controller offer was just a promotion Imagic was doing with No Escape. Why the Video Command though, I don't know...it is a pretty sweet controller though! I dont remember exactly why I included that add (it been two years ) but it was made by Zircon so I may have been trying to show they were producing there controllers for other systems as well ? -

I adjusted it for size so it was not to big and I can see it fine here in this thread I wonder why its so small for you guys, I up loaded it to my directory and maybe somehow what I am seeing is coming from my own computer ? oh well it seem's our friend Jose has provided a link Have not had a chance to update my site yet but will soon Found a guy on the web who collects of all things Commercials from the 70's and 80's so I am hopefull he will have a copy of the Milton Berle Commercial I have done a lot of searching and cant find much about him doing this commercial just one very short blurb it but otherwise nothing at all. It must of been a very short run which makes sense since it mentions Christmas Season so again as usuall for that time it would of run only during the season and from what I can figure out it would of been late 78 just before the turn over, probably only ran a few times before being pulled dont think Zircon had the money at that time for T.V. Commercials not to mention the royalties I would think would have to be paid to Mr. Berle ? -
Channel F System II WAS sold/released by Fairchild

So its been sometime since I added any information to this thread but sometimes its a long time before anything new turns up Just recently a new ad has been discovered thanks to a fellow Channel F collector (Jose A. Monzon) who found this cool Ad with Milton Berle as the spokesmen, Actually since I saw this ad I seem to remember seeing the Commercial way back when so if anyone has a link or better yet a copy of this commercial I would love to see it again. OK back to the New News this add is from 1978 by my best guess, as you can see nowhere does it reference ZIRCON also the phone numbers at the bottom are for Fairchild they are the same phone numbers that appear on Brochures released by fairchild and can be seen on my Web site Next even though there is a stack of 23 Videocarts at the bottom of the ad only 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 are shown (some are there more then once) all this along with the fact Milton Berle is the spokesmen would indicate this was a ad put together by Fairchild and would therby show Fairchild was indeed starting to sell the Channell F II just prior to selling out to Zircon ======================================================== -

Hmm, maybe you are using the wrong browser? I use Firefox, and I am seeing no pop up ads. I do see the Wal-Mart banner ads, but no pop up ads as I went through the site. Maybe they got thrown in by mistake. I have been told by my ad provider that no popup ads will be running in my account. I will def look into it though. And, keep in mind that me running ads was a bit of a test. There is a good chance they will all be removed so bear with me maybe it was my browser like homey said.damn firefox! I also use Firefox but have not had a problem with popUps did get a trickey add the other day that had what looked like a new message notice, said something like "you have 1 new message" and it ended up being a link to something else that I just closed

Well I am no Adam expert or even a hardware expert but I tend to think out of the box at times so I thought I would offer an idea I just had. Is it possable you could connect the Adam Keyboard to your proto using the connector at bottom left, with your proto connected to the expansion port could you then interface with the ADAM ? Again not an expert here just an interested party could the other connector connect to a printer as an output interface ?

Also since they will not combine and you will pay each seperatly tell them you want them sent one at a time with tracking on each

Yes the labels are only referencing the game title and a number between 1 and 4. I have not had a chance to hook up my CD unit so I am not sure but these all look to be regular releases so I am leaning towards the fact they were part of some sort of library with multiple copies of some games, maybe used for referance ? since all the Ecco/classic arcade sets were released with the CDX (5 IN 1 game) and I did receive a CDX with the same type of label simply saying "SCEA 3 RD PARTY" maybe they purchased multiple units resulting in multiple copies of the same pack in games ?

well I guess it did upload

Here is a scan of one of the boxes and carts as you can see both the box and cart have a small white label saying SCEA 3RD PARTY SUPER ST II #1 Just tried to add a scan but it wont load ? here are two links one of box and one of cart well cant add a link either ? you will need to copy and past the links below http://fndcollectables.com/ITEMS_FOR_SALE/Genesis/1.jpg http://fndcollectables.com/ITEMS_FOR_SALE/Genesis/2.jpg

Just picked up a collection of Sega Genesis games 32 boxed CD'S 11 Boxed cartridge games All are from SCEA (SONY Computer Entertainment America) Development Studio all of these items are in nearly un-touched condition but each CD and game cart has labels that state for example SCEA 3RD PARTY KRISS KROSS #1 My question is since it would be very easy to remove these labels, should I ? all the items look to be regular release items but there are a few duplicate titles that are marked all the same with the exception one is marked #1 and then there are others of the same title marked #2, #3 and #4 ? any ideas why they would be marked this way considering they all look to be final releases ? Thanks in advance Dennis

Glad to help, BTW The owner lives in Oakland The Laney has always been good and have had very good luck at the Coliseum also, Never found much at the White Elephant Sale or Berkley Bart every so often there is something at the Alameda Point Naval Air Station Antiques and Collectibles Fair. Been hitting the Bay Area Swap Meets, Antique Shows, Auctions, Thrift Stores, Garage Sales since the Mid 1960's. Parents Started selling items at Reeds Auction about 1\4 mile from the San Mateo Bridge could of even been Russel City back then but now its Hayward, From there they opened a Antique What Not shop in Union City. The what not part was my father would rebuild Bikes this was just about the time the Banana seat came out if I remember correctly soon they went second hand furnature and Antique Store so I spent nearly every weekend from the time I was about age 8 onwards hitting these places in the Bay Area.

This is not such a big deal, has anyone read the GG forum reply from Mike here is a link http://www.gamegavel.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2463 Also I dont think it is a problem if you list as an auction as the feed is only for BIN's or list without using the key word Modded or reproduction. Ask Mike and you might find there is away around it

Looks like Ebay has won again

Hay Albert Here is another idea for your crap carts, you could have a CrapCart grab bag sale and include a few good rare carts among them. Depending on what you include as the prize would help decide how much each chance would cost, .50 cents each and you could include a few hundred dollars worth of rare carts ?

There is an alternate site its Gamegavel.com http://www.gamegavel.com/ But the real problem is that everytime a new site is started its unsupported, the very first thing someone will start with Why use it, there is no traffic, no one is buying, and then they go on to say how they hate Ebay/PayPal but wont give the new site a chance. Its not the cost of starting a new site its breaking the misconcepteion that only ebay can reach the buyers, there was even a recent post that one user says they wont use another site even when there is a good deal ? BTW GameGavel is free to list and has over 4000 users

Really a wast of time saying they worked 30 years ago, I am sure most all items worked when they were NEW . Also looks like they can't count either as I see more then 38 carts ? **

Was this across the board for all sales or just for items listed under the "Video Game" catagory ? this was changed like a year ago but again only for items listed under "Video Games" I have not had a problem as I just simply list under another catagory like Electronics or toys no one searches by catagory anyway I simple search by system like Atari, XE 8-Bit or whatever I may be interested in at the time. Anyway I have not seen an update to say all items are now subject to the hold but if so good bye Ebay/PayPal I cant allow MY money to be held and released when they feel like it. FND Well If this has been around for a year, I've never seen this Email before and I have a 100% rating so its not because I've cheated any one out of thier money so why all of a sudden did I get this Email ?? I don't know ?? Looks like this was announced March 14th 2008 according to the Announcment Quoted below. but still this is only for specific catagorys, including Video Games ===================== Ebay Announcment Copy and past ========================== Posted March 14th, 2008 at 11:40 AMFiled in: General Announcements Reminder: Safer Payments Requirements Go Into Effect on March 17th John McDonald Hi everyone, I’m John McDonald with the US Trust and Safety team. As Jim Ambach, VP of Seller Experience, outlined in his announcement in January, we’re making some changes that are intended to make the buying experience on eBay better and safer. As part of this initiative, expanded safer payment requirements are scheduled to go into effect on March 17. Since January 2007, all new sellers have been required to offer PayPal or a merchant credit card as a payment option to their buyers. On March 17, this policy will be expanded to sellers or items when they meet one or more of the following conditions: the seller has higher than 5% buyer dissatisfaction rates the seller has less than 100 feedback the items are listed in categories with higher rates of buyer complaints, including: Gift Certificates, Video Games, Cell Phones, Computers and Consumer Electronics,. In addition, for a small number of transactions that have a higher risk of buyer dissatisfaction, we may delay the release of funds paid through PayPal. This hold will be placed on only a small percentage of transactions for up to 21 days. Then the funds will be released if there is no dispute. The funds may be released earlier if the buyer leaves positive feedback, or if PayPal can confirm delivery of the item. Sellers enrolled in the PayPal Money Market Fund will earn interest on any pending funds in their PayPal accounts. Your payments will not be held if you meet the following requirements: You have been an eBay member for 6 months or more, and Your total Feedback score is 100 or greater, and Your buyer dissatisfaction percentage is less than 5%. Or Your average DSR is 4.5 or greater and Your have received 20 or more DSRs in the last 12 months. I know that there have been questions among our Community about payment holds. Monroe Labouisse, my colleague at PayPal, explains holds in further detail on his post to the PayPal blog – I definitely encourage you to read it. For more information about safer payment requirements in general, see the safer payments section of our FAQ. Sincerely, John McDonald eBay Trust & Safety
