  1. I have the Special ONE OF A KIND "OMEGA" CGE2k2 Treasure Chest version of Venture II 200.00 plus shipping if interested let me know Here is a copy of a discussion with the creator of these items that was taken from another forum about this item ----Start Quote -------- Folks are e-mailing me about the numbering system of the carts. I can understand the confusion, so let me try to summarize: * The ad is incorrect. There are 25 carts in the run: 20 numbered and 5 "pre-production" that were given greek letter designations. * First there were the first 4 "pre-production" carts - made to make sure I knew how to do this (stripping the ROMs, soldering, labelling, chest assembly, etc.) Those first four were given the greek letters "alpha, beta, gamma, and delta" and were given away to folks who helped me out. (I kept "alpha" which is now for auction.) * There were 20 carts made and assembled that were sold to private parties at CGE 2001. The last one - #20 - was actually auctioned off at the CGE 2001 auction. That was the first hint of how sought-after these were. * A month later, 9/11 hit. The Als at AtariAge asked me for a donation for their charity auction, so I made one more specifically for this. This cart was designated "Sigma" and is identical in every way to the carts released 30 days earlier. This cart brought $400 for the event, of which I'm pretty proud. So, those are the "25." Some folks consider Sigma as an addition to the run, but I consider it just as viable as the other 24 - more so because it was made for a very specific reason. There was one final cart made for CGE last year - numbered "Omega" (As in "the last one of these I'll ever mess with). "Omega" is NOT considered "one of the initial 24/25" and is its own specially-created entity. It *is* a "Treasure Chest edition," but the cart label clearly says it was released at CGE 2002 and the instructions have a color cover and are signed. So it doesn't count (by my reckonning). It was made just for someone who may have wanted the boxed edition, but is seperate from the inital 24/25. So, there you have it. Five greek-lettered versions (which includes the 9/11 cart) and 20 numbered carts. "Omega" is a CGE 2002 release and is not part of original run. Hope this helps. Thanks again for the interest, gang. ----End Quote ------

  7. Kinda, In a round about way In the early 80's after I ETS'd (1981 to like 84) I worked at the Oakland International Airport on the North Field as a Aircraft refuler, ATARI had ther G2 based there and I would do the refuling. Once I even went on a test flight to Hawaii they even had a game system set up ( I seem to remember it was a 5200 ) along with a bunch of games.
  8. I am interested in trading (tape for tape) for any of the original Intellivision cassette tapes for the first Keyboard Component (computer add-on) that I don't already have. My collection consists of the following titles so anything not listed is of interest Family Budgeting, Geography Challenge, Crosswords 3, Jack LaLanne's Physical Conditioning, Intellivision Data Storage. I have an extra copy of Crosswords 3, Jack LaLanne's Physical Conditioning and 2 extra Intellivision Data Storage cassettes. The Other available Keyboard Software available I believe would be Conversational French (two cassettes) Crosswords I Crosswords II Spelling Challange Basic Programming Language (this is on cartridge format) Software that may be available but probably never produced J.K Lasser's 1980 Federal Income Tax Preparation Stock Analysis Guitar Lessons & Music Comp. Jeanne Dixon Astrology Speed Reading Dr. Art Ulene Weight Loss Prog. Also interested in any boxes or instruction manuals for the above items or a boxed INT'L DEMO Cart (red)

  13. Maybe he's making reproductions and trying to pass them off as real prototypes. Take this one with a grain of salt until he produces high quality pictures of his own. His email's at Sullivan University. What kind of college student has thousands of dollars to blow on videogames? I can verify he does (or did) have these items. Here is a copy of the email explaining what I knew about them at the time I sold them. Hi How did you know I have 5200 Tempest ? It is somewhat of a curiosity as it is on an EPROM but the board looks like a normal production 5200 board and there is no inverter, which makes it rather unusual the EPROM is soldered to the board but it looks like it was done very professionally as it is a very clean job. The game itself looks to be the same version that has been around for a while (no collision detection) so you don't die. Not sure what to ask as I don't know if it is something that came from the lab or just a home hack but the fact it does not have an inverter makes it very unusual BTW I also have Super Pac-Man that I got at the same time and its pretty much the same deal no inverter Anyway it did not come with a case but I did put it into an extra one I had. I guess I could sell it for xx.00 as I am sure its worth that much even if it was a hack, the fact it works without the inverter is really a curiosity and could be worth more to someone who wanted to make copies and would not need to incorporate the inverters. I have some scans of the board I could send if you would like to see it just let me know.
  14. That makes me wonder, what were the games #1 and #2? It could have been a way for the game testers to choose which version they preferred. #3 without the shooting capability #2 with shooting capability #1 with shooting and mountain top gun emplacements anyway just a thought
  15. I am telling you dude, they aren't soldered into the board, they have indivual IC leg sockets (ultra low profile), you can just pop them out. Trust me, I've done it to a lot of them in the past. I am sometimes quite stuborn but finaly after being told by you and others I finally tried and just as you said they are not soldered and can easily be removed. Now that I finally accepted this information I will not be needing anyone to dump the eproms as I can now do it myself. Thanks again FND
  16. I am still trying to find someone local to dump these for me as I don't feel comfortable mailing them off and relying on the Post Office. Definitely no problem releasing these roms the more people that can enjoy them the better. Since I have not found anyone yet I will ask here if there is anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area that can dump 5200 games (without desoldering the roms) and don't mind helping us out I would be most appreciative. If not maybe there is someone here who will be going to CGE this year that could help?
  17. Since I was checking Prototypes most of the day I thought I would take some pictures of another interesting Rescue On Fractalus Version I guess this was before they decided what to name it as there is no Title to be found on the title screens. The cart label only refers to it as #3. Also wanted to ask if the LUCASFILM screen is on the released cart ?
  18. I have been checking the MicoGammon SB some more today and have noticed something interesting the board color can be changed by pressing the 0 button to Choose any of 17 different color schemes Background board colors are Blue,Green or Black Boarder Colors are Orange, Red or Purple with different combinations like Black,Red,White and Green or Blue, Purple, white and Light Blue or Orange, Green, Yellow and Red Each color Scheme also has like five different shades to choose from Also this version only has one computer opponent level, there is no way to choose any IQ setting the game board starts after the title screen with no way to choose a level The title screen does say MICROGAMMON SB so I assume that is the level being played
  19. Artifacting can produce different colors on different revisions of Atari hardware (400/800 artifacting is different from XL artifacting which is different than XE artifacting, etc.). However to the best of my knowledge the 5200 is basically an Atari 400 so the artifacting should be standard across all 5200's. Keep in mind that the picture on my website was made with an emulator which didn't do artifacting well. I'll plug in my real Microgammon proto tonight and see what colors come up. However I seem to remember blue and not red. Tempest I pulled out my 2 port 5200 and loaded up the Mico-gammon and the color is still the same color (red/pink) so its the same on both my 4 port and 2 port model. Also the code has got to have some differances considering it only has two EPROMS and Matts has three. After looking at Matts screen shoots again I see the screen shoot with the blue board has some information in the middle of the board mine does not have this screen my version has the same title screen as the one above except it says Micro-Gammon SB instead of the atari open
  20. That doesn't necessarily mean that the ROM ist different. Colors in Microgammon are created using artifacing technique, which can produce different colors on different Atari models. Interesting, Since I do not have much knowledge in this area could you please explain how this works, when you say different Atari Models do you mean there is a possibility of a different color for any 5200 game system? is it random or is there some way of predicting the result?
  21. The Tennis does not have the "sean special mode" and other then some color differences like the net I don't see anything noticeably different. No differences on the Mico-Gammon other then the color BTW These all came from a guy named Scott that was a game tester for Atari you may have seen them listed on ebay about a week ago they all got pulled but luckily I had emailed him earlier with my phone number.
  22. O.K Here are the screen shots, I wish I still had my TV card installed on my computer so I could capture Better shots but since I dont these will have to do BTW the Mico-Gammon board only has two EPROMS If anyone wants to see other screens or Board scans just let me know.
  23. Oh I misunderstood the mico-gammon information page BTW the one I have has a pink boarder not blue. I will get some screen pictures posted later today of the Micro-gammon and the Tennis title screen
  24. FND

  25. Just finished checking some new 5200 prototypes I recently purchased. If anyone is interested I can post some screen shots Mico-Gammon SB I have is an Earlier Version that has the Color display rather then Black and White like the last Version. Tennis Says THE ATARI OPEN on the title screen Instead of TENNIS Miniature Golf Looks to be the Final Version but still checking Dates Vanguard 084 (3-25-83) MicroGammon 7-11-83 Golf 2-10-83 Berzerk 212-08 (7-31-83) Qix 305-01 (11-01-83) Tennis 11-19 Pengo 8-29 BaseBall 7-26 PacMan (No Dates or Numbers) Missile Command (No Dates or Numbers) Mis Cmd
