  1. Ax........I tried to send you a PM about the availability of the second 1001, but your inbox is full I guess. Is the second one still available for $65+shipping? If so I am interested. Shoot me a PM. Thanks, El.
  2. Like many have said before me.........try demos before you buy anything. That said, I enjoyed Castle Crashers. That seems to be the only game that didn't get multiple approvals before I chimed in. I agree with many of the prior suggestions as well though. It really all comes down to your gaming style. Make sure you test it out before you fork over the M$ Points. Of course get both of the currently free game from Doritos. Crash Course and Harm's Way. Crash Course is a LOT of fun and Harms way isn't too bad either. Hope this helps you deciding on what licenses to purchase. Make sure you transfer all of your previously purchased content to your new console.
  3. Al.......as always thanks for all of your work on AA. Between the forums, database, and store I don't know where our hobby would be. You addressed this in your post, but I'll be glad when we get back to the normal color scheme. I don't know what it is but this just doesn't "feel" right. Once again, thanks for everything.
  4. Best Buy has a texted coupon code "2248711" for $20 off of an XBox Live 12 month subscription card. If you don't receive the Gamer text coupons, just ask the cashier politely to enter the coupon code. The coupon code expires 2/26/11 and is only good for one card at a time unless you have a nice manager that will allow an override (I had just such a manager). This will also apply to any old subscription cards that are being sold for $49.99 . I received the text this afternoon and purchased a couple of the 12 month Joust cards. That way you get a year subscription and a code for a de-listed game (-that still works-) for $30. I can't speak for anywhere besides my general area (Chicagoland), but there are a number of stores in my area that still carry the $49.99 cards (and a couple that carry the Joust cards).
  5. I downloaded the wallpaper for Space Ace yesterday and I was wondering when it was coming out. I have been debating whether I would get DL and now I have to do the same for Space Ace. I was never good at either, I never had enough money to learn the moves. It was dang expensive at the arcade I had the infrequent pleasure to visit.
  6. Cimerians...........you comment "I lived with stupid code wheels and serial keys my whole life." made me immediately think of the Gold Box Series. Ah, Good times.
  7. I DL'd the demo last night and I'll try it out this weekend.
  8. Moycon, I know that a number of the games that have been pulled can't be purchased if your friends purchased them. What that is referring to is if you either: "had a friend give you a MU with the game" or "HD with the game on it", it would be there as a demo. There is usually a "Purchase button" in the main menu, these have been disabled for the games that have been de-listed. I know it is a fruitless effort, but I would still love to try the demo purchase with Double Dragon if anyone wants to swap 512 memory cards. I'm kind of desperate for that single game. I doubt I'll be able to get it short of buying someone else's GT that controls the rights to it. Edit------------Atariboy........you made me drop 800 M$P (reducing me to essentially nothing) on Outrun. I had been hoping for a sale on it, but I had to jump when I saw your post. When did you hear that they may be losing the license? I didn't want a repeat of the other games. Edit 2---------From what I have seen Outrun is slated for de-listing in Decemeber of 2011. I can't confirm or solidify any date.
  9. Atariboy - I can confirm that the Robotron 2084 codes do still work as I bought one and used one about three weeks ago. I also traded a Joust code from one of those 12 month subscriptions recently and the person that received it said that they were able to download the game without a hitch.
  10. Two more games that are no longer available through the marketplace, Joust and Robotron 2084, are still available via download codes. Robotron you can find on EBay and Joust you can find on old 12 month Live subscription cards at BestBuy ($49.99). Also you can buy codes for Doom (which has also been pulled from the marketplace) for $4.99 at Gamestop. If anyone knows of anyplace to get a DoubleDragon code let me know. That is the one game that has been pulled that I didn't have a chance to grab and still want.
  11. Gravity Crash, Castle Crashers, and <insert another game here>. Those are the best PSN game I can think of. I have been thinking about getting Deathspank however.
  12. I couldn't pull the trigger on Greed Corp. I grabbed SS2 and Splosion. I also grabbed the free track packs for GH. If you enjoy older PC games............pick up both of the Monkey Island games (they are a steal at that price). In my opinion they are hillarious. Also Telltale games is having a sale right now that is 50% off of everything. I don't know how long it will last though. I picked up a couple seasons with a DVD so I'd have a physical copy.
  13. I hope you are feeling better Neotokeo. An update would be appreciated if you are able. (I just don't want to find out that someone stole the package out of my mailbox and everyone else got theirs a week ago).
  14. I really enjoyed it and hate to see it go by the way side. Live trivia is a blast. I learned something almost every game. If I had known it was going to be canceled I would have tried harder to get the achievements. I figured they would just happen through play, instead of focusing on them. All in all it was well worth what I paid for it.
  15. Can't wait for the box from the USPS!
  16. Cimerians/Moycon........buying the game (Uno) again will be unnecessary. You can play Uno with a different gamertag (suchas your girlfriends) on the old machine and you can play with your gamertag (that was the gamertag account that purchased the game) on the new machine. Both accounts will have to be Gold to play online though. My advice, if you plan on keeping both units active, is to continue buying all of the online content (games and such) with the same gamertag and from the original unit. You can then have your girlfriend/family use their gamertags for that content on that machine (the original machine) and the other unit will require your gamertag (connected to Live) to access that content. This is assuming that the secondary unit is somewhere like your bedroom where you will be the primary user. If in the future the original unit dies you can transfer all of the licenses associated with that unit (which would be all of your online content) to a new unit or your secondary unit. This also assumes that you have a stable and reliable internet connection because your gamertag will have to connect to XBox Live when you play any of the purchased content on your secondary unit. I feel like I was rambling a bit, but I hope I helped you in some manner. El
  17. If RPG wants to get rid of his PS3 because it is boring now............more power to him. I find the PS3 still quite useful even without gameplay. It upscales the DVDs I own quite well. I use it for my Netflix streaming stuff, even though the user interface is powers better on the 360. I am a late adopter to all games........but I am very interested in Modnation and 3d dot heroes.............I haven't played either but they both piqued my interest......as soon as the prices are low enough. If you need the cash.....then sell your frivolous items (such as a PS3, XBox 360, Hope Diamond, and ICBM).......if not I would tell you to hold onto them because you won't receive fair value for them.
  18. The photos and a "general" area that is pinned down to Milwaukee (+-180 miles) really helps your efforts to make a sale. If you have to pick up the amount of items that you have for sale, location is quite important. Your collection is VERY impressive! It is extremely out of my league, so I am just a bystander and shall wish you good luck with your possible future sale.
  19. Welcome to Atari Age and thanks for sharing your story. That is a shame about the basement flooding and destroying your A2 documents (You have way more than enough provenance for your cart though). I loved your "Single owner, low mileage, original equipment" line.
  20. Bilnick, There are a number of rewards in Home. I think the only one I received in the bowling alley was for getting through a couple of levels an arcade game (a weird little bubble machine). You can get Galaga and PacMan arcade machine placeables and T-Shirts in the Namco space. Sony sometimes has scavenger hunts for items usually starting in Central plaza (one was for a motorcycle helmet and another was for a drum set). But Magitek is right, it is pretty much a huge interactive commercial. I guess that's how they can offer it free.
  21. Reaperman - Netflix does work without installing the new firmware. I watched about 15 minutes of a movie and I am still on 3.15. You can still use the internet browser. I don't have a media server up and running so I can't say if they are still working without updating. I've never messed with remote play either so I don't know about that either. All of the stuff PSN related is locked out, trophy sync'ing - PS Home - PS Store - basically anything that requires you to login. I think I am going to go ahead and update though. I doubt I will try to install Linux again (I tried it a year ago before I had an HDTV, now I have too much stuff on my hard drive to want to try again).
  22. Air Raid w/box.........incredible!
  23. Cimerians, You got me. I was thinking of Al Lowe. BUT, Penny Arcade Adventures are geared towards the mature audience, just like Al Lowe's games were. Ron Gilbert was involved with the development of the Penny series. But still, I have found the first episode entertaining so far. I am happy with my $15 investment and I am about a quarter the way through it (half way through Episode one). El
  24. Penny Arcade Adventures episodes 1&2 are bundled for $15 on PSN. They are normally $15 per episode, which I thought was outrageous. For $7.50 per episode I bit. I am just starting episode 1. It is absolutely only for a mature player. I read that Ron Gilbert of Leisure Suit Larry fame had a hand in it.
