  1. I have jus5t seen it on QVC and it looks to be the thing to get. 1 for $27..00 or 2 for $47.00. It was wierd to see the basic program running to "load" the game, it was pretty fast to "load" the game. I would be ordering one if my wallet wasn't going for the repair of my car. I guess I will wait for it to be in stores.

  2. You know, I was just thinking about this the other day: Why was it that almost every system out there had a light gun except the 5200?

Turbo Grafx 16/Duo, Jaguar and even more popular----the N64 , and the more recent GameCube (so far) didn't have guns also.

  3. Arm Wrestling . . . That's the one where the controller is shaped like an arm, right?  How would they ever begin to translate that to the NES w/o a special controller?

That is a simulation version, the Arm Wrestling VIDEO game is in the same cabinet as the Punch Out series (hint Nintendo DS to remake) where the stats are on the top screen and the action is on the bottom screen. A LOT of button mashing!

I would post a KLOV link but the site is SLOW or down at the moment.

  4. One thing to double check is did you put it back together properly? The latching system you take off to access the pin connector mainly. If you didn't put the entry lip back under the PCB, it (cart) is about 2 1/2 mm higher than it should be and of course-not making a good connection.

Another thing to check is if there are any bent pins in the new connector after putting in a few games (if it was very tight).

  5. I played it today at Best Buy and I liked it quite a bit. As with ALL portable game systems, the sound could be better. I would rather it be a little thicker to have better speakers like the new aluminum cone speakers that a lot of stuff is getting now (especially Sharper Image stuff).

  6. I have the same prob with mine also. I somehow blew a resistor. When I took apart my system, the resistor was under a glob of some kind of goop, could of been some kind of heatsink grease (overheating problem maybe), I have been trying to find out the value on the web with no findings (as of yet) . But your prob might be somethig totally different.

  7. I think it is not much better than Halo 1. My biggest disapointment is in the cutscenes, major graphic gliches/slow draw in-like seeing the background then every texture popping in closer. Or the other way around. And even the texture maps popping/loading. I would've waited a sec or two for it to get into memory before they show it on screen. I don't like how the faces have a shiny sheen on them. Somebody needs less oils in their diets.

  8. Does anyone else remember this game system? I played with the deisplay model in a Montgomery Ward store once.

I have played it at MG along with the 2600 display and later the 5200 (which we bought). I traded for one abut 3 years ago and I have about 15 games for it. Like it was mentioned earlier, some poor games and some great games. There is still some poor games being made today (COUGH! X-Box Shrek! COUGH!)
