Is there any mods (easy of course) for any of the 2600 models to activate an auto switch switchbox like the NES/Genesis/TurboGrafx 16 switchboxes?
-
There is supposed to be a grounding jumper across the switches that could've came unglued that I have come across and replacing that helped a few of the problems I had snow/misc noises.

I have never recieved erased carts or systems with normal packing peanuts or regular bubble wrap. That is even how I ship most of my stuff. You should have no problem. Even televisions are wrapped in normal staticy foams and wraps. You only need to worry about it on highly sensitive equiptment.

My new project: Catalog of all arcade scrolling shooters
Ralph3 replied to The Eidolon's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I don't consider Gyruss a side scrolling shooter. It falls with the Space Invaders and Galaga/Galaxian series. -
Check out the blatant keyword spamming in this listing.
Ralph3 replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Auction Central
I saw a character who keyword spam that was in white, small print and lasted 2 PAGES on the screen. I found out about it because I saw a BIG nothingness on the page and I just happened to click and dragged and found it when it highlighted it. I wish I bookmarked this seller for this forum. -
You don't need X-Box live to play Halo with the XBConnect(I just started using it). And Halo isn't the only game supported on XBConnect. I use the same name on XBConnect and X-Box Live and Atari Age. Ralph3

If I had bedsheets like that-It would make me close my eyes sooner so I can fall asleep at a decent time. Or if I keep looking at it -I'll get dizzy and pass out and get to sleep at a decent time.

I would just solder the two leads together so the Jag "sees" a closed door if you don't find a switch.
-
Hopefully you do it on a dry day.

FOR SALE--Snow Bros arcade extras (marquee, monitor bezel)
Ralph3 replied to Adrian M's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Who wants a supergun when you can have the real thing. Arcade boards are fragile. I wouldn't want to have my arcade boards just sitting on the floor or sitting on a table. -
No they don't come apart. I saw someone stuff one of those into a Jeep Cherokee after an auction. It fit perfectly. But they're heavy.

"Any Homebrewer's interested in donating to Anthology P
Ralph3 replied to Klove's topic in Atari 2600
If it is going to be on a portable-Naturally it should be on the Atari Lynx!!! -
I would get all the games that were in the old La Mirada mall in CA. It had everything from videos like Stunt Cycle, Fire Truck, Breakout, Track Ball Track & Field, Indiana Jones, Nintendo vs. dual screen system, Enduro Racer, Paperboy. And pinballs like Atari's humongous Superman, Space Invaders, Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man, Xenon, to F14 Tomcat, High Speed. The mall mostly closed up in 86 and finally got torn down in 90. I think I personally kept the arcade in business. Spent a lot of quarters there.

It all depended if the game entered the initails. If it defaults back to A after entring initial-I put in ACE. If it stays at the initial you chose, I put in my real initials RST which happens in order in the alphabet.

I was actually saw the taping of that specific show when I lived in L.A.! I was even able to meet the cast. A girl friend of mine was Chad Allen's neighbor and he was on the show pretty frequently. It was pretty cool being backstage.

The Ms Pac-Man/Galaga's go fo no less than $1200 for what I've seen . What kind of Capcom fighter are you looking for? I would just start with the cheapest you could find like a good working standard Street Fighter 2 which is a JAMMA+ cabinet and you can put in just about any JAMMA game into and play with little modification. You might be able to get one for about $100 at an auction. I almost got one for $50, but I really didn't need it so I didn't persue it past that.

There is ony one thing that has to be done. LOOSE THE GATE!

I have a good 300 arcade flyers in my collection. I got mine from my local arcade game distributors. I went to mine usually one a week when I was at one my old jobs and it was down the street where I had to pick up my supplies. Don't go to the ones that do repair and supplies the liquor stores and laundromats. Go to the ones that sell or has access to the new games, pool tables, dart boards, jukeboxes, and of course pinballs and video games

I used to work for the cellular phone company Ameritech (Now Verizon) installing phones and their main access number was 444-4444 and you wouldn't believe the morons who couldn't remember that. It was posted EVERYWHERE! Billboards, commercials-Radio & TV, Even on the back of their phones and pagers! And they ask you to repeat it when they ask you four (pun intended) it!!

The 1st thing I would do is get a cap kit. If that doesn't fix it, take it to a repair shop. Cap kits never hurt for a cheap fix (if you can do it yourself)

1-E-Bay , video arcade game newsgroups 2-Are you still getting sound? Yes-Most likely a bad cap or circuit on the moniter. No-Bad board(highly unlikely) Any pic at all? Did you try a different board (if you have one)? 3-Is it dedicated or conversion. There are many types of cabinets. There might be some clips holding the control panel you can access through the coin door. Look around-Usually the back door comes off and you have access to the whole rear of the cabinet. These are just shots in the dark considering I can't actually see your cabinet. If you know a link to a cabinet that is just like yours, that helps. Most likely your cabinet is a converted one because there were more conversions than dedicated. Is it like this one (which is a converted cabinet)? http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter...=R&game_id=9262

The best thing is to have a dark arcade and call it "The Gaming Dungeon" or "The Game Castle" (or other similar variants) and have different rooms for different style of games with corridors leading to each one (assuming you get a large location) Paint the wall in a rock or brick pattern. Maybe have some chains on the walls (painted of course) and maybe have a drawbridge at the entrance. That is how I would have my arcade if I had the money.
