    No reason to get hyped up over a paper box.. It is just that, a cardboard box!

    In your wallet you will find a bunch of paper with pictures with dead presidents, check your wife's wallet, too (there is probably a lot more than you have). I will send you my address and you can mail it all to me.

    Another vote for real-deal. I have been looking long and hard at the OP's pictures and Albert's pics and comments.

     

    So given that we have good pics and Albert's word after visually inspecting the box, what else can be done to convince the doubters? Probably nothing I guess. I was recently talking to person who doesn't believe the moon landing every happened. It was a hoax by our government, and nothing I or anyone else could say or do could change his mind.

     

    Lastly, this was actually the perfect April Fool's joke. Think about it -- everyone was EXPECTING a hoax/conterfeit item. We were actually fooled because it was real.

    I've been saying that it's got Marc O's name all over it from the BEGINNING! :P

    While Mark's boxes are great, they are substantially different from an offset printed, die-cut box.

    it kinda became less exciting today than it was yesterday .... the real fun is gone ... now it is just a bit funny ... Al asks stupid questions, Tanman is pissed about us, CPU is lying, the aliens haven't shown up yet ... i think i'm gonna go to sleep :P

    Looks like the seller took an offer of $1,250 for it.

     

    Less than half of the BIN price and double the current market value. If I had a grand to spare, sure, why not?

     

    But hell, I can't get a seller to accept an offer of $22 on a $24.99 BIN/Best Offer cart. I never understood why putting a Best Offer on an auction if you are not willing to go more than $1, maybe $2, below the BIN price. There are 2 sellers on eBay who I have run into that do this. Then there is the other extreme like this seller who puts the price out in the stratosphere but accepts a huge markdown offer.

    That was the plan all along! Wonder purchased the company back in the early 80s knowing that AtariAge would be created and in 2010 he could pull of the most amazing practical joke ever! WOW!

     

     

    Actually he did it with the help of the Back to the Future DeLorean he purchased recently. What a masterful plan by him and mcgrail007.

     

    What is wrong with playing Devil's advocate on this? We will know for sure in the next 24 hours anyway. I am enjoying the show.

    Occam's Razor applies here and it is easily getting to the point where "This is real" is a much simpler explanation than "Al, 7 other people on AA, and every single eBay bidder so far is in on it with intent for a simple April Fool's joke".

     

    My jury is still hung but what has transpired has made me less skeptical.

     

    Just to play Devil's Advocate, LOLW could also mean 'LOL WIZ'.... :ponder:

     

    Sure Occam would lead us to believe that, but have you looked at the other April Fool's pranks? The false screen shoots, pictures of proto chips and the like. Good stuff.

    Ouch. That is actually the first piece of evidence of an April Fool's joke that I could buy. I was thinking it was a weird number, but it is LOL upside down.....

     

    Maybe the W is for "Wickeycolumbus" who is in on it.

    More power to him, I say. It needs to go to someone who will take excellent care of it and will share it with the rest of the community the way Wonder will. :)

     

    I think that would be great if he did, but I think there will be some stiff competition from outside AA. I personally think this will go over $30K.
