This just keeps getting better and better. Stay tuned. As for closing your account, Mr. Bathtub Billy, please do. EBay doesn't need sellers who feel like they can sell with an attitude of "you are not allowed to leave negative feedback, seek a refund or any sort of reparations if not happy." That is against the rules of eBay and also contrary to common sense of doing good business.

Very good, thanks. The kids were like *yawn* -- "Whatever, Dad." I know it's not a world beater, but still jazzed none-the-less.

Just so excited, had to tell someone. I finally broke 200K on Joust. It is my favorite stand-up arcade game (and the only one I own). I hadn't played it in a while, and I decided to fire it up. On the level I finally died, I had four men left, but there were 4 Shadow Lords to start the wave. They took me out pretty quick.

Edited. Ha Ha, dumb me didn't see the pics down below...

I am really bummed to hear that. Like you, I thought after getting the Best gold sticks, I wouldn't be buying/fixing another 5200 joystick again. I used Star Wars Arcade instead to do the alignment -- pretty easy. Lining up the X off the nose of the X-Wing makes it easy. While playing, the trench is a great way to see if you got the alignment right.

I recommend the Radica stick. I made it myself to save a couple bucks, but it requires some resistors and soldering. So if you aren't comfortable doing that, but you want a good two-button joystick for the 7800, take jaybird up on the offer. I really like the Radica for Xevious and Ninja Golf.

I agree, not a bad joystick, but not a great one. My main complaint is the positioning of the fire buttons (the second one needs to be higher). And yes, it is not a good match for many games. However, with that said, I do love it for Mario Bros and Scrapyard Dog.

Strange how lots of this "orig anal" crap has been popping up lately.
-
Yup. An authentic rip-off! I am still laughing about the "bathtub accident" which somehow removed all the labels but left the game playable.

Wow, Atlantis II, Quadrun, Waterworld, Rubik's Cube, Crazy Climber and Diagnostic Cart. eBay Seller: comicseller09, "atari 2600" Ha, ha, but wait -- description is "Rest of auction will be added later by revision", seller has 98.6% Feedback, and -- what's this? -- the carts (seen from a distance) have no label except a crappy, white, hand-made, penned-in label. The joke will be on someone.
-
You nailed it, although my order would be Centipede Joust Food Fight Dig Dug Asteroids Those five games alone make it worth owning a 7800.

I really like the Gunfight homebrew. It's good fun and a definite improvement of the original Outlaw cart while still retaining the spirit of the original. The manual states that the BW/Color switch toggles the "horizontal bouncing of bullets." However, it has no affect for me -- bullets always bounce. I tried it on my light sixer and four-switch as well to make sure it wasn't just my console. Same result. Anyone else have this issue? Everything else seems to work perfectly.

I have Juno First (love it), but no AtariVox. I would buy one if I knew where.

I always gave about 4-5 days, and then I contacted them (unless the buyer contacted me first to state when they could pay). If I were you, I would contact the buyer again and state, "Sorry, but unless you submit payment by the end of the day Saturday, I will file a Non-Paying Bidder complaint with eBay."

Activision Console: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 370307442401

Naw, it's junk. Just ship it my way. I will take it off your hands and reimburse your $20 and throw in $5 for your trouble.

"...WORKED 30 SOME YEARS AGO." Wow, that is encouraging.

I just looked over my collection and didn't see anything that was missed. Two thoughts: Honestly, the first game that popped into my head was Ice Hockey. While not technically a fighting game, the body checks are very good and you can knock your guy to the ground. Plus, when playing against a human opponent, things getting pretty 'exciting' with words and whacks. I am always floored when people comment that Kung Fu Master isn't that good. I mean, wow, really? The game is beautiful and surpasses anything I thought a 2600 was capable of. I find it loads of fun with different opponents (acrobatic midgets anyone), traps and bosses.

Another option is to buy a CX-40 joystick that is modded to use a USB connection: Legacy Consumer Electronics.

Check this thread out. Not only were they awarded, but one of the winners is an AA member, and he posted some pics and comments. Very cool stuff.

Dear gawd, please don't let this become yet another E.T. thread.... But to answer your question, I was appalled by Dig Dug's graphics, and I never gave it a chance back in the day.

That is a good looking H6. Congrats, I am happy for you. You got a decent price, too.

Yes, I own a copy of Battlezone, along with the better version otherwise known as Robot Tank. The arcade version of Battlezone was done better by Activision in this case. I was not arguing whether Robot Tank was more fun Battlezone. If you like it better, fine. But Robot Tank is not a port, just Activision's copy/variation make money off the arcade game. And I don't see a big difference in the quality of graphics and gameplay to call out Battlezone like that. Your original point was that Battlezone's "graphics left much to be desired" and that the gameplay was only "somewhat" there. That is not a fair evaluation. Not only does VGC gives it an "A", your beloved "Robot Tank" scores a "B-" with VGC. One person's opinion, sure, so I checked the last update of AA's Top 100 and Battlezone comes in at 38 and Robot Tank at 90. Atari did good with this port and a few others like Ms Pac Man.
-
Huh? Have you actually played Battlezone? The graphics are better than the arcade and the gameplay is very good. VGC graded it out as an "A." I can understand this argument for Pac Man or Pole Position, but not BZ. As mentioned, without Space Invaders we probably don't have the 2600 phenomenon. Sells were dismal until this release. People wanted and bought arcade ports, whether good or bad. And to stay on topic, I would give E.T a "C". It is not a bad game, but I don't enjoy or play it much. I remember when it came out. My friends were excited to try it with all the marketing hype. While our reaction wasn't "this sucks!", it was pretty lukewarm. It amazes me how much of a hot button topic this is. You'd think we were debating national health care (please don't).

Granted, the reviews are the real reason to visit his site, and the whole "approval" thing for the forums is lame, but I have gotten a couple posts published on this thread in the past day. And yes, the original posting is a year and half old, but it has continued through two pages with a post last month. Right now it is pretty even with INTV fans posting verses Atari. I guess I just like beating a dead horse. GIDDYUP!
