Well, if you enjoyed reading the 58 pages (and counting) for Air Raid, you will enjoy 25 pages for Red Sea Crossing.
http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/113497-help-information-on-red-sea-crossing
Essentially unconfirmed and could be a hoax. See this follow up thread:

how? mine aren't interchangeable
:?
:? It's too easy.Below are pics of a heavy chassis and a 4 switch. Take the 4 switch off its chassis (secured by 4 screws on the bottom), place on the heavy chassis, and secure the 4 screws on the bottom again (the heavy has two more screws that aren't used on the 4).
Presto, heavy 4 switch, and an eBay auction of "@@ ULTRA RARE HEAVY 4 SWITCH!! WOW!! @@@"
-
just have them ship it in a bubblope
Damn! I forgot about the bubblopeTM -- problem solved!
-
They're on the boxes, but not in our collections... until now of course

What's the story behind the heavy fours?
Someone just dropped a 4-switch onto a heavy chassis.

Hello All,
Again, I would like to thank everybody for their kind words on me acquiring this game. I am really looking forward to putting the game in my collection and see how it looks with the other Atari 2600 games I have. Now, I need the Ultravision Karate CIB, Gauntlet CIB, PGP-1, Birthday Mania, Monogrammed Space Chase and Red Sea Crossing. Let's see how long it will take to get those.

Thanks,
- Wonder007
Is your collection open for people to view? I go out to the LA area about twice a year (already been once). If so, can I PM you in advance before arriving? I would love to see what you have.

..Al
Now I know where all those AA subscription dues go!

I thought fluoride was good for your teeth? I remember those treatments as most disgusting. No, I would not recommend fluoride to anyone.
So this thread needs stronger teeth, or maybe it is just disgusting? Or maybe the thread contributors need more to be poisoned by the massive fluoride conspiracy? I am going to lose some sleep over this one....

Personally, I expect to pay more for shipping because I want the Atari box to be protected. This is just a personal preference, I try to drop an extra buck or two for the trouble of packing material also, when I can.
Sure, I have done that a couple times in the past when they agree to box and their shipping charge is already too low or the game is extra expensive. But this item will only cost $5 to ship (Priority Mail under 1 lb Zone 1), so I am already paying an extra buck and change.
-
Turns out that the seller's message basically meant, we only have/use flat rate boxes, but if you want us to make a box and ship it PM, we can do that.
I suggested that if they are going to sell Atari boxed games in the future they need to get and order of the box Al suggests.
-
I am more amazed that a Space Chase is pulling over $22 shipped
I always thought this was an ultra common game?CIB in the early release box is actually a little scarce. Only a couple auctions on eBay right now. Of course it doesn't help that the one bidder before me essentially took my bid up to the maximum amount I had entered. And if you go with the seller's First Class S&H we are talking $20 (and change) shipped.
-
lol, pun intended, right?

I am glad at least one person got it

-
More to the point, what does being "loaded" with Fluoride have to do with interfering with a person's ability to comprehend language, or is this another Illuminati-style conspiracy theory?
I am glad to see it wasn't only me that was scratching his head over that comment. I understand that the gene pool needs a little more chlorine, but fluoride?

HOLY CRAP. That's just insane.
You would know
No, it's been going on for a lot longer than the past couple weeks. I did just say to my wife this morning though that I won't be surprised if we start seeing more $500 auctions for commons on ebay now. So many people are just dense.
But there is an upside to all this. Yes, we are seeing more crazy prices for common items, but we are also seeing more items in general. I posted about this last week -- the number of Atari 2600 items has been rising substantially. That is a good thing for collectors. The crazy-money auctions can be ignored or mocked in this forum.
But with these old school games going for thousands and tens thousands of dollars recently, people are starting to take notice and dig out their old stuff.

Auction I won: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320512452288
-- nothing special, no great deal. Here is what is interesting: Paid $6.30 for Priority Mail shipping, told the seller that I expect the item to be shipped in box for the cost and method of shipping I selected. The response:
One problem.Atari games in box are just too big for a small pm box. Themedium box costs more than you paid.We make our boxes from recycledcardboard. What would you like us to do?-theoldtime99centcircusI explained that there are other PM boxes besides flat rate and that a less than one pound game like this is $5 and that he can get these free from the Post Office either by ordering or picking up himself (gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was not trying to just squeeze a little more money out of me).
I am confused by the "we make boxes" since he talks about using the USPS small and medium boxes. I told him he could even make a box and put a PM sticker on it.
What think you?

Take that NES! You with your "not a real game" $15,000 contest carts!
Atari VCS takes the lead! I predicted $27,000, sure I was $4,600 off, but that's only off by 14.6%. Did anyone else predict closer?
More power to him, I say. It needs to go to someone who will take excellent care of it and will share it with the rest of the community the way Wonder will.

I think that would be great if he did, but I think there will be some stiff competition from outside AA. I personally think this will go over $30K.
EDIT: Stiff, not stuff

I was a believer. Glad to see it sold to Wonder.

At the top of the 2600 forum there is a topic called Top 100 2600 games of all time. Might want to check that out.
Yeah but...everyone has a different answer...that's to be expected of course but I was hoping that someone may have created a poll or something to combine many different sets of opinions to try and distill the games that a large number of people all agree are great.
I liked the poll at the top because he used a point system to come up with the rankings, but if can come up with something better go for it. AA members love to vote for their favorite games.

Never heard of Spirit Master either. Sounds like a cool game.

Ohhhhh, now that does sound interesting. Maybe like Ouija for the 2600? I just might bid on that one.

People are getting drunk and thinking their 2600s are worth a ton...
Maybe you can trade your Air Raid cart for it. (BTW, this kinda stuff goes in the Marketplace>Auction Central forum)
-
Definitely a unique title. If you like that one, try out Fathom by Imagic. It is another unique dolphin game with a surprising amount of depth.
-
Never mind that I am the ONLY person in my office right now.
Well, at least you didn't lose THAT vote.

-
Yeah, it's the "How to win at Popular Video Games" book or whatever. It was written in the 80s and featured hints for Galaxian, Pac-Man, etc. etc.
Titles like that really should read, "How to win at Popular Video Games. For Unpopular People." Hmmmm, come to think of it Cebus, you should bid on that one.
-
I honestly don't get it. They are being super anal with you, yet there have been two auctions where myself and others on AA have complained to eBay that they were repros being sold as originals, and eBay did nothing.
-
Nice job! I remember the first time I did it, it was like FINALLY! That last bit with the swarm of condors and bats got pretty frustrating.
Super fun game.
