I haven't seen the ghost dots - but I will play it some more with this newer version
-
Yes, and I love the fact that you can finally play the pinball part too
-
Yeah, thanks - I actually found that page right after I posted this, and I was just coming back here to change my post...
Thank you anyway...

I currently have an Auction up on eBay, and I have specifically stated that I didn't want zero or negative feedback bidders.
Well, of course someone with zero feedback has bid, and now I am trying to figure out how to cancel that bid. If anyone could tell me how to do it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

This is one game I always found too difficult. Below is my high score, and I only died because I was getting board and started taking more chances.
But there are a few things I was able to figure out: This is the one Pac-Man variant where you *don't* want to clear boards. Stay on the first board as long as possible. When you get energizers, use them and 'slide' back into the pinball game. I've figured out a trick to keep the ball in the extreme side lanes to forward the 'Tunnel Speed' and 'Fruit' all the way to the max pretty quickly, and if you do that a number of times you get a bonus player. So I would get to a certain point, and if I lost the ball, I would purposely die on the board, go back to the pinball and earn another bonus player.
Now, I know that most likely on the real thing (because of physics) much (if not all) of what I do may not be consistent so it's null and void, but at least you can apply the same logic...

Nevermind - I already saw the name above

Mine was Space Invaders, which I got at the same time as the console itself. That was only because Combat didn't work! I had acquired three or four games before I had received a working Combat back from Atari.

Hey Guys:
With Pac-Man and Pac Plus, the monsters' behavior is *definately* different from the arcade. Clyde (for instance) chases you much more actively than in the arcade.
Also, (I know this is a nitpick) the 'sprite priorities' are wrong... the Monsters are supposed to overlap Pac-Man when in close proximity... instead Pac-Man shows on top of the monsters! It just doesn't look correct... Now in Super PacMan and PAc & Pal this is ok, because for some reason it's like that in the arcade. But not for PacMAn and Plus.
Super Pac and 'Pac & PAl' are somewhat closer to the arcade than the other two.
Either Way, I'm still kind of glad I picked this up

Hey Shawn - Let me give it a try -
Hi Josh:
If you have the cart case, and the 4K board from AA, (I usually just buy the board with the hex inverter already assembled in the board. It's a little more expensive, but worth it.) you are almost there.
If you are just missing the eproms, you will find that not many retail carts actually used eproms (Especially Atari). Most used ROMS that cannot be re-used. your best bet is to buy them (like I have done in the past) on ebay. There is a seller 'Dentedtwo' that usually sells eproms in batches of 50 for about $25. You need 2732 eproms.
I hope you have an eprom eraser!
Hope this helps...

Hey Shawn:
When I was buying a bunch of 7800 carts to use the boards for, I got them all from this seller: Gamesandstuff
They are fast, and pleasant to deal with.
Hope this helps!

I have three complete shrinkwrapped sets in addition to all the other crap I hang on to. I'm sure there are a few other genuinely dedicated 7800 collectors out there who are more hardcore than I am, but none of them could possibly love this system more than I do. Straight up. :-)
... but you don't have my Pac-Man hacks on cart ...
(Hopefully you know I'm teasing)

YOU GUYS ROCK! - That was it!
Now, just so we have the complete instructions all in one place:
To use the 32 in 1 as a 16 in 1 cart:
1) De-Solder the existing ROM, and solder in a socket (in case you change your mind of what games you want to put on it).
2) On the front of the board, cut the trace just above the hole in the center of the board as shown in the picture circled in red.
3) On the front of the board, attach a wire from the exposed solder pad to the right of where you cut the trace, down to the top of the edge connector, fifth in from the right (as shown in the picture).
4) On the back of the board, cut the trace that has the exposed pad just below the top row of socket pins as shown in the picture circled in red.
5) On the back of the board, run a wire from pin 1 of the eprom to pin 12 of the HEF4024 chip as shown in the picture.
6) Burn your eprom with your choice of 16 4K games, keeping in mind that if you string them all together sequentially, the order in which they will show up is: 1, 9, 2, 10, 3, 11, 4, 12, 5, 13, 6, 14, 7, 15, 8, 16.
That's it! You now have a 16 in 1 cart!
NOTE: Please keep in mind that you are now forced to use a 7800-style case to house this in, cutting a small notch inthe case to clear the wire.

Thanks again, everyone... I'll give that a try either today or tomorrow and let you know if it works.
@kenfused - I'm hoping you meant 1, 9, 2, 10, 3, 11, 4, 12, 5, 13, 6, 14, 7, 15, 8, 16 - because otherwise there is a game repeated and another left out ...
Thanks
--- It's just so strange that the jumper pad just below the bottom-right corner of the eprom and the 'movable' resistor to the left of the chip isn't used for anything... I wonder why they are there? :-/
-
Actually on the contrary--- The WalMart in Massapequa suddenly has about 20 of them again... :-/

The title of this thread is 'Snow White Dumped'

Nukey Shay wrote that he thought Prince Charming and Snow White were going to hit it off...

Thanks for the tip, guys - that was it! (see pic below)
@Armin - you were right, though - I do have to turn it off and on twice to get it to go to the next game.
You guys are great! Thank you so much!
Just as a side note, these are the games I had put in the 64K eprom (temporarily; I might replace them with hacks)
Dodge' Em
Haunted House
Maze Craze
Megamania
Missile Command
Pac Man (I know - why?)
Pitfall
Space Invaders
Video Pinball
Superman
Yar's Revenge
Adventure
Berzerk
Circus Atari (Joystick Version)
Circus Atari (Paddle Version - this one was actually an accident)
Defender
@Shawn - The 32 in 1 actually came with a 7800 style case, so I'm ok there Still had to make a tiny notch in it for the wire, though.
At least we know now for the future
Thanks again
Bob

Oh yeah, that's right - yes, the Froggo games do have eproms in them
-
It looks like Shawn Sr. from this board has a bid on it - let him have it, guys

Hey Guys:
Thanks for the replies! I have included more pics below. I used the other board, because the socket I had in the picture above is solid.
CPUWIZ / Kroko: I see the pad you are referring to that has no trace. Sorry I missed it before, when you mentioned 'like the Combat cart' I was expecting the cart connector pad to not be there at all. So when I saw it was there, I didn't look any farther
Also, the other 32 in 1 I had did actually use a 64K eprom, and the board is the same as this one. So the pinout should be the same.
Thanks again...

It was about $20 at Target, and the funny thing is the receipt reads, "Atari PacMan"! 25 years later and people *still* associate Atari with Pac-Man even though this is a Namco product... :-/

I got it at target. And now that I've played it I'm not crazy about it. The monsters' personalities in Pac Man and Plus still aren't right. This is definately *not* emulation.
Super and Pal seem a little better.

Odd-looking Millipede box in this lot...
in Auction Central
Posted
Check out this auction (not mine)
Look at the Millipede box... It's a 'Silver' style box, but it's red! Never saw that type before; I'm guessing it's only a PAL release.
