  1. I just finished playing it with the 'Hangly-Man' romset... It's pretty cool when you get to the 'empty' maze I really need to look at the source for this, but I get errors when I try to unzip the 'tar' (tar -vtf ) also, PkUnzip gives an error also
  2. Hi! Bruce - I'm wondering if the 7 wire harness is for the output? I see Red, White, Yellow, and Black (I'm thinking Audio Right, Audio Left, Composite Out, and Ground) - and then Green, Purple, and Blue for component out as well (kind of like the 5200 version). I think the 4 wires are the ones that get soldered to the board... If that's the case then Mot's fine Bob
  3. Thanks for the info guys! Just as a side note, not only does the paper read 1980, it's December of 1980! You know, I'm curious... The main motherboard encased in the shielding connects to the external board with the switches by a 12-pin header. Now, most of these pins are for the switches, Voltage in, +5v out, and ground, but there are two that go to the RF modulator on this external board. I know this may be a pipe dream, but I wonder what is in those signals... It couldn't be composite video and audio, can it? Do you normally feed composite signals into an RF modulator?
  4. This unit I got from a friend seems slightly heavier than the other 2600s I have, although I'm not sure if it's a heavy sixer or not. The white tag that is taped to the inside reads a 1980 date - wasn't the heavy sixers only the first run (1977)? Thanks
  5. Hi! I am looking forward to this product with great anticipation... Especially if you are able to keep the $35 price point mentioned earlier!
  6. Let me know if you do not receive any trade offers - and if you would be willing to sell it. I'd be curious to know how much you would want for it. I currently have my brother's Vectrex, but it's desperately in need of screen alignment.
  7. Thank you Now that song is stuck in my head
  8. Just a curiosity question: I finally found a Picture Label 'Miniature Golf' (although it was PAL) so I swapped the board with the NTSC version and blacked out the 'P' on the end label I was curious if 'Basic Math' or 'Slot Machine' were ever released in a Picture Label variation - either in NTSC or PAL?
  9. IIRC, Armor Ambush becomes a one player game if you leave the second controller alone for a few seconds (I *think* that's right)...
  10. This reminds me... Is there a reason the Roms were never dumped from the Asteroids Cocktail cabs? From what I have heard, it's not a switch like in almost every other game - but it's actually a different romset. And it's not in MAME Is this true?
  11. Both gone - will try to make more after the holidays (Thanks sku_u for the nice words)
  12. Thanks! I already have wires connected to the Chroma, Audio, and pins 2, 5, 7, and 8 - they are all waiting... I'm doing the 'Portable' mod at the same time Thank you for all of your help. Bob
  13. Hi! Two more (hopefully final) questions, please 1) On the transistor, I have three pins: the Base, Collector, and Emitter... Which pin goes to which trace? 2) I could not find a 2N2222, but I did find an MPS2222A... Are they the same? Thank you very much for your time Bob
  14. Hey man: The best thing I can do is let you know once I finish mine... I just started doing the exact same thing. Although, I had tried to mod a JR, and got no video - it turned out it was a soldering joint on the video mod that needed to be re-done Sorry I don't have more to give but I hope this helps Bob
  15. No, but there was an adapter made to use the Atari 2600 joysticks on the TI... (Which reminds me... I still need to obtain one of those)
  16. Hi! I have two questions: 1) I am assuming that when you wrote 1,5 2,7 5,6 you meant 1.5 2.7 and 5.6 right? 2) If I only have a 510 Ohm resistor handy instead of a 500 Ohm (and I don't feel like going out) will that be ok? Thank you in advance
  17. Thanks, Sku_u I think I might be making a batch of these soon, I just have to put in the fix that 'classics' gave me to clear the display list so it doesn't display garbage at the bottom of the screen sometimes
  18. Do hacks count? ...cough...cough..Hangly-Man...cough..

I was soooo looking forward to this...
  20. No, they are not, but I am SOOOO tempted to rewire them so they are (just because I like doing that stuff)
  21. Crap - I live about 1/2 hour from there... I wonder If I can get off of work that day...
  22. Yes, they are epoxy... Sorry for the blurry pics, but I keep forgetting the "3 foot" rule with digital cameras (they don't auto focus too well when you are closer than 3 feet) --- I forget who told me that. The only problem is 3 feet is too far to get details of this small board...
  23. I have to say, "Adventure" is very funny in this unit. The bat appears out of nowhere in the middle of the screen, and never seems to go after any objects on the screen... Unless you happen to be lucky enough to be in the spot where he appears and catch him. Then you can carry him over to an object and *then* he'll pick it up. In one game I had the bat carrying the Chalice, and brought him right into the Gold Castle... The game didn't end! So I quickly assumed that in this version, the bat couldn't be carrying the chalice in order to win. I made him swap with another object and I grabbed the chalice myself. Then the game ended when I brought it into the Gold Castle. It makes for an interesting variation for this game (slightly tougher). BTW, they closed up the opening in the hidden room of the White Castle Bob
  24. That is *very* cool Curt... Where do you plug the power in? (I hope that's their next project)
