1. I actually used to remove the rubber boot myself back in the day; I hated them. The controller moved much more freely without them. Although I had a Masterplay Interface as well soon after getting the 5200, so I ended up using that much more.
2. I'm hoping mine comes tomorrow... [EDIT] - It didn't come in today either
3. Dennis - continue! continue! It looks wonderful so far!
4. If anyone is out in the Long Island area, the Massapequa Wal*Mart in the Sunrise Mall and the Target in Copiague still have a *bunch* left.
5. I'm curious myself, as I have a Galaxian with that Atarisoft Font...
6. First of all, his prices to begin with are absolutely crazy. (He's the one who had the $2000 HSC cart) For the longest time, he had a sealed 'Tank Command' for a $400 Buy It Now (I think it's been months) Now I noticed that he has a new Buy It Now for $595! What is this guy thinking? (hmm... Nobody bought it at $400, so let me raise the price even higher and maybe someone will take it) ???? Of couse, I know he can charge whatever he wants for it, but he must really like relisting fees... I just don't get some people.
7. I have posted the ROM for anyone who wants to try it... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83420 Scroll to the bottom, it's been posted there.
8. ... and for anyone who wants to try it out, here is the ROM (this version has it's own entry for the HSC)... PACPOLX.ZIP
9. AAAAHHHHHH!!!! ...Must...get...back...to...playing... Great work Jason
10. http://www.atari7800.org/labelscans/Hi_Score.htm The new one is on the bottom left. Mitch 1027927 Hey Mitch / Allan: I finally figured out how to print to a JPG from a MS Publisher File (using a third party software package) :-/ Here's a better pic of the label:
11. Ok - fixed the HSC setting for Ms. Pac-Fast. Posted it in the 'hacks' forum: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...st=0&p=1028091& It's in the very bottom post. Bob
12. Thanks guys Ok - I forgot to change the HSC routine so that it has it's own entry, so I have fixed that. I also changed the graphics (monster & ms-pac) so hopefully they look a little better (like my other hacks). Here it is MSPCFAST.ZIP
13. Hmmm.... That's a good point...
14. Thanks I know you weren't criticizing me... I actually was trying to distance myself from it originally and let Shawn and gambler172 take it over, but on the same note I don't want it to start any arguments... Back to our regularly scheduled thread...
15. Hi: I didn't have a reason for not posting the ROM other than I didn't think it was necessary - it's the same Pac-Man game but with different shaped sprites; I didn't think it mattered. Let me check with a few people and if it's ok to all involved I will post the ROM Also, I will be fixing the High Score ID in the Fast Version of Ms.Pac-Man I'll try and do it over the weekend.
16. 1027738 If Bob won't do it, maybe you can get this guy to do it. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84360&hl= Allan 1027744 I actually would like to try Jr., but I *definately* would need some help on how to do scrolling mazes....
17. Yes, all of the Pac-Man hacks have their own High Score entry (Pac-Man, Hangly Man, Ms. Pac-Attack, Pac-Man Plus, Dual Pac-Man) I just realized I didn't change two of them: Ms. Pac-Man (Fast), and Pac-Pollux The Ms. Pac-Man Fast will read the same as regular Ms. Pac-Man, and Pac-Pollux will read the same as Pac-Man. Oh well - it's too late now @Curt - no problem now you got me *very* curious!
18. Mailman just came today at work... Nothing yet... As a side note, I also would like to thank Curt for giving so much to this community. This HSC is a perfect example - knowing that someone wanted $2000 for one on ebay, Curt came in and sold them to us here, most likely close to what it cost him to make them. Most other people would have asked for much more money. It takes a certain type of person to do something like that. And he's a nice guy to boot... with a lot of patience Bob
19. I couldn't help myself... I picked up the 12" single (again) and the picture disc =) They will look nice in my game room
20. The other wire is a +5V feed. It's needed for the trackball but not the standard controllers
21. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74780 That's a very cool idea of letting the player control one of the dragons Bob
22. Hey Dennis If I try just doubleing the bin (to 32K) it doesn't work at all. I expect that, because it's probably a 2 chip 16K setup (like Pac-Man). When I try doubling the first 8k, and then the last 8k (which works for Pac-Man) it crashes at the title screen, just as the first explosion starts. This also happens on the AtariMax USB 128 5200 Multi-Cart I have a 4 port system. Bob
23. Just as a side note, Corey is *really* great at keeping up the communication. He basically let the pre-orderers know every step of the way what was happening, instead of just leaving us in the cold wondering what was going on. Kudos to him for that, and it is one of the reasons I will continue to buy from him. (Of course the other is just having a great product!) Bob
24. Thanks But unfortunately, I just checked their site and TC is not in the list of games any more. Bob
25. What's the bug that was fixed in the "Pac-Man (Bug Fixed)" version? 1021124 Actually I fixed 3 bugs in that game: 1) The flashing of the monsters (when they turn back from being blue) to match the arcade - check out the '1st Apple' level to see what I mean. In the original 5200 version, they only flash once. 2) The speed increase happens on the board *after* it was supposed to. For example again the 1st apple board. On the original 5200 version if you *start* on the 1st apple, the speed in fast (correct). If you work up to the apple, the speed doesn't change from the peach until the 2nd apple. 3) The 'no blue' boards. On the boards where the monsters aren't supposed to turn blue at all, they stay blue forever on the 5200 version. I have fixed this. I learned all of this while working on the 'Plus' and 'Hangly-Man' versions. The 'Speed Increase' bug had me going crazy for a few days as I though it was something I did while I was modifying it for Hangly-Man. Then I finally said "let me try the original one" and it was there too. Bob
