  1. I really should think about what I type before I type it
  2. Jason: Very cool - you and I sound like we are at about the same level of play on the regular version (although you might be a little better than me; I think my high is about 220K) It is hard to get all four when the energizer lasts 1 sec, just on those boards I usually don't bother to try for all four Anyway, it would problably be cool to have a .inp file anyway; It would be cool to see if our techniques are similar In my MAME cab, I use DOS MAME .56 - will that be a problem for the .INP file?
  3. Are you talking about fast or slow? I use 'grouping' ( I didn't know it had a name ) constantly. The first two boards I never miss every monster, and many times I can get to the Apple that way (It's a bit more difficult when the energizer only lasts 3 seconds) Granted, my games usually last much longer this way... BTW This is with the game at regular speed. If you are using the fast machine, you don't have to worry about grouping as much because you can pretty much catch up to them quickly. Well, I am much better at answering specific questions than rolling ideas off the top of my head, so is there anything specific? I can attempt to make a replay file in the next day or two if you want ... Let me know
  4. I agree - you two seem like very good people. "May your world be full of laughter and happiness" BTW - beautiful work on both projects! I'm hungry! Oh wait... the joystick box isn't edible?
  5. I try to play the regular version whenever possible - the speedup makes it too easy. About 3 or 4 years ago I entered one of the Olympics on MARP (Mame Action Replay Page - http://marp.retrogames.com/ ) For Ms.Pac-Man. It was the speedup version - but with one life and no bonus. I got the Silver! My score was somewhere in the 400K bracket... I just did a search on the site; can't find my replay It would probably help if I could remember which Tournament it was (1, 2, or 3) BTW, my high score on 'normal speed' is @220K **UPDATE: It was an 'Olympiad' entry, (in 2001) but I still can't find the winning entry. I found the Qualification entry (only 234,000) but not the good one... (I used the handle 'PacFan' there)
  6. Hey Greg: Oh man - I'm sorry about your unfortunate incidents. Maybe some of us can help get your collection going again? I have 3 HES / Activision carts (Sports Pack, Action Pack, and Smash Hit Pack - they're PAL, though) and a handful of doubles I'd be willing to part with to donate to you if it will help... The 'handful of doubles' are Adventure, Asteroids, Haunted House, Superman, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and some others (I'm doing this off the top of my head as I'm not home right now) Let me know
  7. Berzerk and Robot Tank don't work Just drag a .bin file on top of the '2600.exe' icon in the games folder
  8. Has anyone tried the emulator from the 'Atari 80 Classic Games' CD with other bins? It seems to work with any one I throw at it! I've tried Ms.Pac-Man, Jr.Pac-Man, and Pitfall! Pitfall II doesn't work, though Cool!
  9. I believe Breakout has 4 players. albeit 2 at a time.
  10. What Kind of video card is in your system? I have a 1ghz system (128Mb of RAM) with an ATI Radeon video card and all MKs (1, 2, and 3) run smoothly (as well as Asteroids) - I'm also running DOS MAME version .56 http://pacfan69.tripod.com/cabinets/index.html
  11. Adventure Yar's Revenge Stargate / Defender II Ms. Pac-Man Crystal Castles Jr. Pac-Man Thrust+ Berzerk (VE, of course) Asteroids Space Invaders
  12. Thanks StanJr, Breakpack, and Nukey Shay I will refer to this thread if/when I can get back to fiddling with it... I think what would help (me) a great deal is that emulator / disassembler someone started writing a while back, that would show the screen on the left, and the code on the right. (Funny enough I remember seeing Ms.Pac-Man in the example). I am assuming at this point (being it wasn't released yet), that you could step through the code? Or at least put break points in it? I wish I could remember the name of that application, and I hope it gets released soon ... I'll do a search when nobody's in my office...
  13. @Stan Jr: I guess it is at this point; I haven't been able to figure out the last few things I wanted to. The problem is, to implement any of the other changes (turning the screen invisible, making the fruit turn the monsters blue, etc.) I believe requires adding code to an 8K cart. Not an easy task from what I hear I really wanted to see this come to life, too... @Atarius Maximus: You always have such cool hacks!
  14. http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33319 Although someday I'll get back to it (I hope)...
  15. Hey Charles! Glad everything is ok (relatively) Hey - If you decide to take a road trip north up to the NYC area let me know!
  16. I hope so to - everything ok Voltman?
  17. @Breakpack - by the way, the 'doubled' values of the points while the monsters are blue only happens when you eat the fruit; the energizers still give the normal points... (not sure if you know that or not, just trying to help)
  18. Excellent Sinistar mockup Inky! @Tempest: Cool - maybe there is still hope of a proto someday surfacing...
  19. I actually started with the 16K version of Pac-Man when I began this a few months ago @NukeyShay: Thanks for the explanation; I follow things a little better now @Breakpack: I'll take a look at this also over the weekend....
  20. Crap! I had found the colors to the 5200 maze several months ago but have since thrown away that piece of paper It took a while to find too... Pretty much trial and error. Unfortunately I haven't gotten any further on the 2600 PMP version; the assembly is just too difficult for me to follow (time to start reading the 'programming' forum) In the meantime, time to look at what looks like a cool job you did!...
  21. It's too bad - I think Sinistar would have been AWESOME on the 7800... looks like it wasn't even planned
  22. Your 2600 is a little crooked - it needs to be rotated right about 1 or 2 degrees Seriously though - very cool display Here's mine: (split into left / right shots) It's more of a 'Classic Gaming' shrine in my basement The Vectrex is still to come...
