Curiosity Question: Is there such a thing as a Micro SD -> MMC adapter? (NOT SD/MMC but MMC only, as you guys know the CCII uses this and it's thinner than SD/MMC cards) I'd like to start using Micro SD cards, and from some of the googling I've done, it *seems* to use the same 3.3 volts as the MMC card slot... In fact most of the pins are a 1:1 conversion, with the exception of a missing Ground pin (there seem to be two of them). I tried searching Google for one, but as you can probably guess, all of the common Micro SD -> SD/MMC adapters show up. Thanks, guys Bob

Success. Finally. Three things: - As I said above, I believe I resolved the 'not feeding enough filament when switching extruders' issue. Although I won't know for sure until I print another one. - The supports were a PAIN to get off. There has to be a better way. I may try printing them vertically again. - There are three 'lines' on the back, next to the bottom part of the mouth of Pac-Man. Every other place, the filament retracted when moving. Why it didn't just for these three movements is beyond me. I tried the cart in my 7800, and it fits great. This cartridge is going to Crossbow, for fixing my CCII. I'm going to test print a few more with different filaments, and make sure things are consistent. Thanks, guys

Ok - just got sent a picture of the top... it came out good as well. Need to see it together:

...and thank you so much Mitch for looking at it as well. I couldn't see anything that clearly either (getting old is a b*t*h) , and I actually was just going to toss it. Crossbow talked me into holding on to it, so I asked him to look at it. Thanks guys, so much Bob P.S. Speaking of getting older, not looking forward to my B-Day this year... I turn the big 5-0.

-^Cro§Bow^-, you are freaking AWESOME!

No, it didn't even occur to me that I needed one of those. The two-color section (i.e. the PMP logo) on the bottom came out ok, but not great. The rest of the cart case came out as expected, finally. I've increased how much filament gets fed to the 'priming tower' that gets created when printing two-color objects, so hopefully two color prints will get better now. I just need to smooth down the rounded edges and screw holes. I started the 'top' printing just before I left for work; this is the part I'm worried about. That big area for the label indentation is always an issue, but I want it in. It's not even a consideration to remove it, as I *really* didn't like the other cartridge model that's out there that didn't have one. I know there is support filament that dissolves in water (or other solutions), but I didn't want to get into that. Plus I've read many issues of the filament not dissolving totally, and you end up having to dig it out anyway. So, I'll see how the 'top' print went when I get home. Thanks guys, Bob

Ok, so those of you who have known me over the years know, that as soon as I say 'I quit' on something, I get another idea on how I could get past whatever issue I am having... Having said that... Something I should have known: PLA filament absorbs moisture. All of the filament rolls that I have were opened as soon as I got them. That probably was not a good idea. This silver roll is brand new. It is laying as perfectly and as smoothly as can be. I still don't have the two color thing down pat, but I'm getting there. My problem now is that when it switches extruders, it doesn't push out enough of the other color before it starts printing again (so it still prints mostly in the first color). Anyway, let me see how this one works out, and I will put it back in the zip lock back it came in when it's done. A lot of little things to learn, and things that I never realized, having worked with these things for over 3 years now.

JESSE IS AWESOME! He does exceptional work, fixed a CCII for my 7800 when I was unable to see any traces to fix it. He is absolutely talented, and goes over and above I would recommend Jesse to ANYONE who needs repair / electronic work done. He is quick, concise, and complete. Thank you, Jesse, thank you!

Sorry Guys, I probably shouldn't have posted the pictures. I can't get a single clean print without corners lifting, or sides not binding correctly, or supports not coming off cleanly, etc. We will have to wait until Al is able to put them in the store. I've wasted a *lot* of filament trying to get this going, sorry about that.

Thank you so much, guys... Ok, while I need to make some adjustments (corners slightly raising while printing), this cartridge case design works well, and fits in the 7800 nicely too... - Moved screw holes to the bottom, and made 4 of them - similar to another design I saw. However, two of the screw holes no longer get in the way of the larger 7800 boards. - Kept the label indentation for both the top and side labels. - Made the cartridge door pins as part of the case (instead of a separate piece - that always annoyed me) - Put the logo that was designed for me on the bottom of the case. I am currently printing a case with a raft, as to hopefully prevent the corners from raising. This is where I am so far. I hope to be able to print these: - Pink - Light Blue - Glow-In-The-Dark Green - Glow-In-The-Dark Blue - Silver (to reflect the pinball aspect) - this is the one I am doing for myself. - Clear I was also going to do Wood (it's PLA with wood particles in it... when you are printing it actually smells like wood is burning), but the label adhesion was atrocious. They would fall off almost immediately. Glow in the dark example (but unfortunately with the raised corners): Thanks, guys Bob *EDIT - Just had an idea - if I can get the 'two-color' mode working on this printer (it has two extruders), I may make the 'PacManPlus' logo another color (yellow?)

I wish something like this would come out for the Apple IIc (no slots, but it has a 15-pin video interface in the back). I have the awesome VGA converter that plugs in there, but the newer TVs don't even have *that* any more.
-
...but then the number of switches in the front wouldn't be 'even' (i.e. two on each side)… that would completely mess with OCD people (like myself)...
-
Yep mine is the Creality CR-X...*almost* the same unit (I had to put mine together too) Thank you BBA

Ok... I've got eproms, I have cartridge boards, and I have enough labels... I'm just still tweaking the cartridge mold for the 3D printer. Each cart case will take an entire day (literally) to print. So, assuming I can get things the way I like it, I may do a run of 20 or so. *Please don't make any 'reserve' posts or PMs yet, because if I can't get the cart case to the point where I'm comfortable enough to give them out, I won't do this. Al will most likely have the boxed version in the store. Mine will be cart only. Thanks, guys Bob

Guys... I was just told that they are working on NES carts of the RB game. Just some FYI. Bob

Immortal John Hancock on Youtube
PacManPlus replied to swlovinist's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Thank you so much, John... You are way too kind. that video means a lot to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. -
You guys are too much... John Hancock did an extremely complimentary video about Baby Pac-Man. Too kind... It's funny; I gave him a Baby Pac-Man because of all of the nice things he's said about me and my games in the past - and he does this. Really great guy.
-
Just got mine in. They actually did a good job on it: @mr_me: I don't think so, it was a work for hire. I've been meaning to ask him about porting it to the 7800 though...
-
Correction - the chip on mine looks like it reads "C6AC / NZ17". I have a bunch of "F6AB / NZ17" chips. Crap. Not the same.
-
Thank you - really appreciate this. Purple = NFG Yellow = NFG Blue = NFG Orange = Connection Red = NFG Lt. Blue = Connection Ugh. Only two of the traces have connections. I need to run all new micro wires. Question: In your picture, does the 'orange' leg of the chip connect to the bottom of the resistor directly to the right of it? Thank you again. Bob
-
...also, as I mentioned in the CCII thread, I am still 'tweaking' the standard cart mold to be 3D printed. I have 'silver' and 'glow-in-the-dark' PLA filament waiting for this to be done. I think if I were to give the .STL file to an injection-molding place, it would work fine, however 3D printing required some additional help - especially with the 'indentation' for the top label, and the cartridge door prongs... those are my two main issues currently. Supports aren't doing the job.
-
Thank you so much... Although I'm quite disappointed about how bad this one area is. (I had forgotten how bad it looked until I saw it again). I may just end up tossing it. Maybe if I get a new chip, and try to run wires to it off-board (and then secure it with hot-glue or something) maybe I can get it to work. I'm not concerned about it fitting in a case, as I can 3D print a custom one now. (I'm still tweaking my design for the 'standard' case for Baby Pac-Man)...

I *think* with a little bit of modification to the Bentley Bear Crystal Quest engine, Pac-Land might be possible. Not saying I'm doing it, just saying I believe it's possible without an exorbitant amount of work.
-
Ok... I've tried for about an hour yesterday, and another hour today. I can't see where the traces are on this board, and the probes we have here are too big. I give up. Thank you both for the help.

Thanks you much guys... I'll let you know how it goes...
