  1. I wish I could like the above post 1000x :D

Although I don't think you can have the paddle function along with the 7800 buttons as the paddle lines are used for those buttons. :(

EDIT - I misunderstood what was written above; Defender_2600 said *without* paddle function (I missed the word 'without' initially) :ponder:

Nothing is ruled out regarding accessories like the CX24. I would say though its quite a different proposition to bring to market CX24 Joystick over a CX78 Gamepad, primarily start up costs - the cost of tooling and engineering a new Joystick is challenging compared to the Gamepad. Additionally in my personal opinion the CX78 is a reasonably decent Gamepad whilst the CX24 is an ok Joystick. I do understand though the desire to see a re-issued CX24.

IMHO, I think a better design would be the CX-40+, but with a button on the front for the second-button (or even perhaps a smaller button just below the 'standard' button as 'B').

...it truly stands in its own...

There's your reason right there. :)

Actually, I can only speak for myself as the reason I didn't include it is because internally it's quite different than the other Pac-Man variations (Pac, Ms. Pac, Hangly, Plus, Puck, etc.) as those are all just slight AI rule changes with additional mazes.  Jr. (and Super) are different enough internally (believe it or not, the scrolling mazes are enough, as are Super's 'keys') to have to have it's own release.

    Thank you,

    Bob

  4. Not sure what you mean by a 'newer version'?

Having said that, I'd like to do two things to it eventually.

    - I want to make it play more like my NES port, meaning in two player simultaneous games the first person to leave the level ends it (instead of waiting for the second person).  That solves a lot of issues.

    - Work on relaxing the collision detection a bit.  I've seen cases where vertical shots pass through the skeleton on the right.

  5. Thank you for those kind words - it would be incredible if Atari could get license from Namco for these to be officially produced.  Apparently from what I understand Namco also obtained license from Nittoh and various other bootleg versions after suing them.  So I believe all versions in PMC could be licensed at one shot.

  6. If need be, I can make specialized versions of the PMC40th games that don't check for Yamaha...  as that is what causes the black screen in ProSystem... Although I don't know who would make carts at this point. :ponder:

If there's anything I can do to help regarding the 7800 side and my games, please let me know.

  7. Thanks for all of the love for Bentley Bear's Crystal Quest...  I think I need to do a sequel at some point :ponder:

For the speed runners out there:  There is a level warp around the beginning of each major level.

and for the explorers out there who don't already know: there is a secret level warp as well.

  8. Went back to my old home, Long Island, last week for a wedding, and picked up a VERY clean 2-port 5200 + 1 controller and about 15 games.

I think I need to video mod it though.  I have to search the forums for the best video mod to use.

  9. Thank you so much!

I do have to say whenever this is brought up, that if it weren't for @Kurt_Woloch doing the entire pinball movement and physics, this probably would not have been completed.  He is incredibly smart!

P.s...  I had finally acquired the actual arcade cabinet not long after the game was completed.  It needed a lot of work, but I got it up and running 😀
