Is there only one "Pitfall 2 PAL" version ? I now have two PAL cartridges of "Pitfall 2", and it seems that the music sounds a bit different depending on the cartridge. It seems mad; but other people ear it also. Same console, same TV, just swapping the cartridges. The two are sure PAL ones (ie: not a NTSC and a PAL). I can't understand why one doesn't sound like the other (ie: a dirty cartridge or a broken one should not do that).

No luck: the guy has stupid long teeth and he is now telling hard bullshits ("so many people want my game, I received hundreds of emails, so I will sell it for solid gold + virgin's blood + first born baby + etc"). So he can keep it and choke with it. I'm sure he won't be able to sell it. I'll ask again later to see if the price went down. (Or found another deal elsewhere). PS: his "River Raid SECAM" cartridge doesn't have the "<S>" sticker and never has it. I think that's why "River Raid SECAM" is the hardest to find (out of the five SECAM games), because Activision didn't put the sticker on all cartridges. So you can't tell if it's SECAM or PAL without testing the game. So one must buy and buy and buy it again and again and again until found...

Hi, PAL SkareBoardin' on PAL 2600 seems to produce TIA bugs depending on the PAL console one uses. With a PAL 2600jr, no bug. With an old UK PAL light sixer, the tubes show corrupted graphics. The color gradients of the tubes are corrupted/random/unstable. Some are better, some are not even grey, most are cycling/changing randomly, etc. Is that a known bug ? Google can't find about it. (It's not here either: http://2600connection.atari.org/faq/vcs_tia/vcs_tia.html ). Thanks.

What about "Activision's Ghostbusters 1" ? One just told me that this one is also different in France ! I don't know if it's true. He said that, as far as he can remember, on-screen text is french. He also said that this one does not have the "<S>" sticker, so it's impossible to guess if it's PAL or if it's SECAM just by judging the label. Damn, this quest would be also difficult (buy many, buy many, test'em all).

Today is Hanukkah. I've just received "Keystone Kapers SECAM". Tested: non working. Cleaned: non working. Cleaned again: non working. Cleaned again again: working ! Yeah. Here are some pictures: cartridges (PAL + SECAM), labels' hires scan (PAL + SECAM), pictures (SECAM game on PAL console: nearly all grey image). Now four out of five SECAM games are ready to be dumped !

Hello, Here is *yours* now. Working fine (power adapter was bad, video cable was bad, but console is fine) That's an old CX2600S: French SECAM with French sticker; woody face; 4 switches; signal on "channel 36"; bottom of console like 6 switches one, with a black plastic tape to hide the holes. Today is Xmas. I've just received "Space Shuttle SECAM" (working OK) and "Decathlon SECAM" (working OK). I will get a "Keystone Kapers SECAM" in less than a week (but untested by previous owner: working or not ?). I now miss "Hero PAL" (I have SECAM but I need PAL) and "River Raid SECAM" (I have PAL but SECAM is impossible to find so far). At least, four out of five SECAM games will be dumped soon, I hope. Here are a few pictures: cartridges (PAL + SECAM) and screenshots (PAL game on PAL console + SECAM game on SECAM console) (I will do SECAM on SECAM later) (I will also scan the labels in a few minutes). Still looking for super-extra-rare River Raid SECAM, I've seen a weird thing today: a River Raid with a "(N)" sticker on them ("N" for NTSC ? (like the "<S>" of SECAM games)). It does not seem to be standard. In which country Activision did this ? Is that common or rare ?

Ok, I just got an Atari VCS 2600 light-sixer PAL-UK. Console was dusty but not dirty. One or two little scratches though. After washing it, I scanned the front wood. Here is a 600 dpi image. Thanks.

Yeah, I have now found a KeystoneKapers SECAM. I don't know yet if it works: I'll get it later (days ? weeks ? monthes ?). Four out of five SECAMs. Now, finding a RiverRaid SECAM seems difficult ; I'll try, I'll try.

AFAIR, the game is played in a canyon, so the walls kill you.

Looking at the video again: it seems that Conan turned the joystick in the wrong direction a few times (look at the red button !). So when he pulls the stick, it goes elsewhere and it crashes.

I, perhaps, will get another KeystoneKapers SECAM soon. (Incoming deal; summer slowed it). I hope this one cartridge will work. I hope its label is better (I will scan it again). Here is a 500dpi scan of Keystone Kapers Secam+Pal.

My Secam-KK's front label is very very bad (washed colors, holes, cuts, dirt, etc) and the side label is yellow-washed-to-hell (title can't be read).This Secam-KK's label is 100% the same as the PAL's one: the only difference is really the added "<S> sticker". I'll scan it soon, though. (I don't know if this cart can be dumped. More cleaning ? Unsoldering ? Praying ? Shocking ?).
