  1. I am actually interesting in purchasing 2 Stelladaptors. Pixels Past only points to Atari Age or Lik-Sang for purchase of this product. It appears to no longer list as an item in the Atari Age store (Use to be Product ID 267 according to the 'old' links that point to it), and Lik-Sang list the product as unavailable. Will the Stelladaptor become available for purchase again at Atari Age (or anywhere else)? My preference is to be able to purchase it thru Atari Age; however, it appears any alternative is better than none at this point. -Trebor
  2. Hi Brian, Thanks for the latest release. I was on vacation, and coming home to a new kat release certain makes for a pleasing return. One problem I ran into with this release is the UI key mapping for returning to GUI does not function/respond. Even when left at the "default" mapping (Esc) with a fresh install, it still results with no response to entering the GUI. -Trebor
  3. The *BEST* NES Emulator has been updated. http://nestopia.sourceforge.net/ What's New: Shell Additions: Language plugin system using compiled resource DLLs. LDK included in the source. Date and time for last state slot write now displayed in the menu. Most option dialogs now carry a cancel button. Launcher window size preserved and optionally saved on exit. More detailed info in some error messages. Shell Changes: Various aesthetic fixes and improvements to the GUI. Alternative screen font for a few selected countries. Many hardcoded strings moved to the resource string table. No default directory creation if already user specified. Swapped load/save state keys (N/SHIFT+N) for a more standard setup. Different meaning to the SHIFT+0/0 key for save/load state slots. SHIFT+0 to overwrite oldest slot, 0 to load from newest slot. Auto monitor frequency option in video dialog now enabled by default. Updated to newer version of unrar.dll. unrar.dll and kaillera.dll now only loaded on demand. Lots of refactoring. Cleaned up tabs and spaces in source files via internal utility. Cleaned up HTML in readme file. Shell Fixes: More menu/dialog items grayed out when not applicable. Menu disappearance sometimes after exiting menus/dialogs in fullscreen mode. Filter settings now properly reset on 'Default' button clicks in the video options dialog. Display of the 'Name' and 'Maker' launcher column entries now in proper ANSI code page. Directory string parsing bug if failed to create a default directory. Auto window sizing quirk. Incorrect image file properties in some of the database corrected entries in the launcher dialog. Refresh your file list to force the fix to take effect. Core Additions: Pachinko (via mouse wheel) and Hori Track (via mouse) controllers. Info from Enri. Nantettatte Baseball Double Casette System for mapper 68. Info from CaH4e3 and Enri. Mapper 170 for "Fujiya Thinking Games". Info from Enri. Mapper 197 for "Super Fighter III". Info from CaH4e3. Core Fixes: DIP switch setting for "VS.Bomb Jack". Lightgun in "VS.Duck Hunt" and "VS.Hogan's Alley" now works again. Database entries. -Trebor
  4. ... I did not know there was any kind of debate on piracy. I second that statement. I was kind of "taken back" by Paranoid's post right after mine (Nothing against Paranoid). My comments were meant to commend kenfused on his excellent work. My comments: "An especially *huge* thank you for sharing this with the community", honestly was not geared towards whether are not ROMs are released, but the fact that he did program something for what I feel is a fantastic system (I chose a 7800 over a NES back in the day). There's probably many programmers out there who port or create games that are for their own personal use and are never seen by the public. It is wonderfully generous of kenfused to share his talents and programming with the rest of the "community". I am thrilled with Beef Drop, and I am excited too about Q*bert (Not as much only because my passion for the game is different). Nevertheless, once again thank you to kenfused for providing such an excellent set of ports. -Trebor
  5. Absolutely amazing! Thank you for adding the "no peppers left" jingle notification. This port is unbelievable. Really outstanding work! An especially *huge* thank you for sharing this with the community.
  6. Hi Kenfused, Great work on these latest updates! Now, I can play it under MESS under with the 'proper' speeds. Thank you. Concerning the "Pepper Out" notification jingle, it does not play for either the Data East or DECO versions of the game. However, in the US, Data East licensed Burgertime for distribution by Bally Midway. That version does contain the "Pepper Out" notification jingle, and was the most common distribution of the game in the US. Regardless, if you decide to ever add the jingle or not, this port is fantastic. I really appreciate it. -Trebor
  7. I noticed there's no "ringing" notification when you are out of pepper(s). Don't know if this was ever planned or there was a sound effect for being out of pepper in the past. However, just realized it now under MESS 0.106. -Trebor
  8. To add even more variety in the "products served", have you considered using sprites from Taz (If it is at all possible for this hack)? Here's the list of food items (Not that you're not familar with them): Hamburger Root Beer Ice Cream Cone Fudgesicle Apple Core Turnip Tomato Sundae "Surprise" ...Then again maybe you've had enough Taz after Chicken Crossing... -Trebor
  9. Hey Brian, I enjoyed the palette you created. Nice job. However, the "new_Stella_NTSC" that atarimac originally posted is still the one for me. I guess an 'accurate' palette can be a tough thing to produce (So many variables involved). Heck with all the interest in NES emulation, it is only recently (Thanks to the talent of an individual name 'blargg' and some others), NTSC colors been accurate represented in emulation of that system. Nonethless, thank you for sharing this with the public. It would really be ideal if there was a way to truly obtain an 'accurate' palette for Atari 5200 NTSC video (7800 NTSC palette too). Maybe blargg's formula will make it into Atari emulation someday (Heck, Genesis and SNES emulators have already had it ported over). Unfortunately, it is way beyond my technical expertise or understanding. Keep up the great work as always! I look forward to the next kat release :-) -Trebor
  10. Super impressive port. Easily, one of the best arcade translations on the 2600. Really terrific work. However in all honestly, I was not very surprised. Anyone who has tried any of "ChampGames" arcade ports to the PC knows the quality work and incredible talent you display. I'm thankful you're generous enough to share it with the public. Thank you. Keep up the fantastic work! -Trebor
  11. Hmmm...Seeing Q*ken made me think of perhaps a diffferent play on Kenfused and Q*bert. How about... Q*fused ? -Trebor
  12. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88021 Needs to be added to the database for the next release -Trebor
  13. Well...I know it has been 7 months since the original post, and 3 months since an update by Eduardo. However, I'm still hoping we will see this homebrew come to a completion. I still get excited seeing those 'preview' shots at the beginning of this thread, and I still have the MESS Coleco"memory expansion"Vision edition eagerly waiting for Donkey Kong Any news or updates with this port? -Trebor
  14. Nice catch with Star Trek, sut! Sure enough, after you start a game, you will see the "Begin Simulation" message. Every thing appears on screen including the map above right, and radar below, as well as your stats and score in the upper left. However, the game becomes unresponsive after that. For Wizard of Wor, make sure you are using Player 2 controls and not Player 1. Wizard of Wor works fine. -Trebor
  15. Here's the deal with my setup. All Pac-man titles work fine with no issues for me: 1. I use a Front-End called Game Launcher: http://www.dribin.org/dave/game_launcher/ 2. My ROM names contain periods, dashes, spaces, and exclamation points. All of which load and play perfectly. Perhaps his problem(s) could be: 1. His front-end has problems handling ROM names containing periods or dashes. As one or both are contained in the ROMs in question. 2. All my 5200 ROMs are in *.bin format. Perhaps his are in *.a52 format - maybe some have bad headers; Or/and he has bad rom dumps (There are *a lot* of bad dumps out there...lol). -Trebor
  16. Jr. Pac-Man - Works fine in kat5200. You may have a bad ROM dump. A.E. - Confimed appears to freeze afterdrawing the 'black & white' game screen. Jum5200 - Do not know. Will try to test later. Currently, do not possess the ROM image. -Trebor
  17. Yes, there are diamonds in Mr. Do's Castle. I have actually obtained them 2 or 3 times while playing in MAME. Acording to the technical section here: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=M&game_id=8771 "The PCB is marked with the code 8300-A2 and the ROMs bear the marking A1-A10. At least two ROM versions exist, but later revisons have extended game play by the inclusion of blocks with cherrys embeded in them. Also the replay Diamond was added". There's a snapshot as well of the screen you would see after obtaining a diamond at the above link. -Trebor
  18. The new conversion BC's Quest For Tires crashes. Load ROM file, you see title screen, then it begins 2 (Maybe 3 seconds) of the game demo, and then it crashes to the GUI: "Emulator has crashed. Enter the Debugger?" Yes/No options. -Trebor
  19. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=86627 ...Cross posting does not change the answer(s). -Trebor
  20. Hi, The ProSystem emulator is a great little emulator which unfortunately does not have direct support of game controllers. Hopefully, if/when there is a new version released it will add support of such devices. Currently, there is only keyboard support. There is a way to obtain controller support indirectly though. Look for a program called KeytoJoy (Key2Joy). It maps keyboard inputs to your controller. Furthermore, many controllers come with profiling software which also can perform such a task. -Trebor
  21. OK, I finally got around to trying out these new palettes. Nice job, Danno! However, while I do like them better then the originals that are included with kat5200, as the colors (hues) appear to be a better match, I still prefer the palette originally found in this thread: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83650 I just imported the pal file and had it converted with kat5200. It's the same palette that Brian makes reference to earlier in this thread, and that I posted in the previous kat5200 thread. IMHO, it's the best match for the 5200 colors/hues/brightness. Nonetheless, thank you to Brian once again to a fantastic emulator that just keeps getting better and thanks to Danno too for creating/correcting and then posting the updated palettes. -Trebor
  22. Here's the palette you can use in the ProSystem emulator: new_stella_NTSC.zip See my post in this thread for some more info regarding the ProSystem Emulator: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85041 I did send the author (Greg), an email a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately, I have not received a reply. Just make sure you load the ROM first, then change the palette. One of the 'bugs' in the ProSystem emulator is that it resets back to the internal palette once you load a ROM. -Trebor
  23. @Brian: Cool. Thanks for the mention and the post. I do like that palette the best. However, I'm going to take a look at the default and bright palette updates posted by Danno once I get home today (At work now). @Danno (or anyone else who can shed more light...lol): Is it really so that all the dumps of Pitfall! are PAL? My lastest set of ROMs used for my 5200 gaming are from the 'official' Offline list. It too has Harry with the "blue"hair. Ditto with the "Good" verified (U) ROM. -Trebor
  24. Absolutely fantastic! The "True Analog" setting works *perfectly*. And I only have to have it set for the carts that need it, and save the cart settings (I use the Rumblepad II control group as the one with the True Analog mode turned on and just save that control group to all the carts that require it under "Cart Control"). All the 'problem games' from 0.2.3, now work great, including: Super Breakout, Star Wars, Missile Command...etc. Pac-Man sounds great. Great to see the fix to Pitfall II as well. You really out did yourself with this release. I love it! -Trebor
  25. Just for the record, and to have a definitive list: Gorf, Missile Command, Star Wars, and Super Breakout could use "Pengo mode" adjustments. However, Centipede and Millipede work great! No adjustments needed for those games (IMHO). @jum: LOL...Mr. Do's Castle is my test for Atari 5200 emulation too. -Trebor
