    Lets use polys/per second as a rough quick baseline (considering they are all 3d systems and games are typicaly judged by how they look, this should be somewhat fair).

     

    DC = 7 million polys/sec

    PS2 = 66 million polys/sec, an improvement of 9.4 times vs the DC.

    That figure is the one stated by Sony as a theoretical best. It was for basic untextured polygons with no graphical effects whatsoever, therefore should be treated with extreme caution as an indicator of true performance. Sony were, from memory, ridiculed at the time for such a claim. Nintendo stated Gamecube's figure as being 12 million polys/sec and this was for supposedly true in-game performance, i.e. textured polygons with additional effects. Gamecube was very much underestimated at the time regarding its true power. PS2's real figures were thought to be similar to that of Gamecube from what I recall.

    * DC had twice the video RAM as PS2 and this can clearly be seen in the quality of polygonal textures in certain games. DC, unlike PS2, also had anti-aliasing which showed in games such as Dead or Alive 2

     

    * The DC version of Half Life, to my recollection, was a lazy and unfinished PC port, i.e. it wasn't created specifically for DC and therefore wasn't optimised for it. Look at PC/360 games ported to PS3 for a current-gen illustration of this

     

    * Perhaps if DC game coders had enough years to fully exploit the system it would have seen even better games 4+ years into its lifecycle. Recall how piss poor PS2 launch titles were relative to games released years later

    I just played it a Game Crazy @ Hollywood Video...I honestly don't see a difference....It seems like it might load a sec or2 faster on PS3 thats it!

    A Sega fanboy? You kinda got me on that one!

     

    It loads a whole two seconds faster? Wow! That'll be the power of the Cell! :lol:

    Oh OK, You almost had me....After reading about 7-9 more article on the game I found....

    * "a markedly improved control scheme due to the limitations of the 360 controller's d-pad"All the reveiws that bitch about controls talk about the D-pad.....I don't use it I use the sticks, and also they say it plays fine if you get used to the controls, or are comfortable with the Xbox controller...Good I am.

    * "more refined textures and lighting due to file size limitations placed on XBLA titles by Microsoft" Found nothing about PS3 having "more refined textures and lighting due to file size limitations placed on XBLA titles by Microsoft" I kept reading Ps3,360,PC are all pixel exact!

    * "additional exclusive Challenge Rooms"You are sorta right but remove the "S" in "rooms" and then I'll give it to ya...yay 1 room!

    All I gotta say is Achievement points! Make the 360 worth the loss of 1 challenge room!

    So on it being the Best version out on the PS3, I say no,Them being all equal, Yep!

    Here's something I've just read from an owner of both versions who claims the scrolling in the PS3 version is "less glitchy".

     

    Please don't think I'm some Sony fanboy, btw!

    Well, while it's true that in UK, 360 did pick up a big early lead, it seems that sales of PS3 have been accelerating rapidly since the start of 2008 while 360 sales are regularly behind.

    That's news to me. Do you have a source/link to substantiate PS3 has been outselling 360 in the UK?

     

    Oh, haha. Just checked that up. PS3 was ahead, then GTA4 came out and 360 pulled ahead. They seem about neck and neck at the moment.

    Thanks. Is that neck and neck in current sales or in lifetime sales?

    I'm currently downloading it on my PS3 after thoroughly enjoying the demo.

     

    It makes a rare change to see the best version of a game on PS3 and not 360. :)

    U.K tv personality Jonathan Ross said that he has a Turbografx and also mentioned that he has every single console ever released. Hes a very funny guy :)

     

    (for the U.K people, this was on Richard and Judy...the interviewer was doing some feature on sci fi or something , and happened to bump into Jonathan in a forbidden planet shop)

    I remember him being pictured playing Atari Lynx back in the day!

    I agree with your choice as APB is the better game from that list. Dracula is OK but much appreciated for a genre badly underrepresented on Lynx, NFL Football is rather average and World Class Soccer is quite poor.
