  1. I would say so. Honestly. How many Gauntlet carts with the original PROM chips in them do you see being sold. I have sold a total of three in a year that have the original PROM chip in them. These chips are not easy to come by all year round. for about two months a year about two times a month a gentleman in OHIO sells them. The chip itself goes for around $50 - $80. Sometimes you get lucky and can get it a little cheaper but not much. Malagai itself has been sold many times (the reproduction kind with the original PROM chip) for around $65 - $70. That's just for the single game itself made into a cart. Every Gauntlet I have sold has averaged around $149 just for Gauntlet. I wouldn't put that price on it if I wouldn't pay that price myself. It's not an EPROM or EEPROM reproduction game. The only difference is that this cart just not an actual original but it is the actual game with the PROM chip. I am speaking from sales experience that I have. I'm sure Crazy Climber will comment so I am ready!!! Thanks for the detailed replies everyone

  3. Good bye AuctionSniper.com.... it was nice knowing ye
  4. Not particularly rare, but my fav are my Atari stock certificates.... Below is a picture of some stock from Sara Tramiel... family member of Jack Tramiel, founder of Commodore and eventual President and CEO of Atari Corp! (well, it's a stretch, as I cannot prove it, and he had 3 sons, no daughters, so who knows, but the CA address makes me think it is a relation) Here is an Atari Olympic pin from 1984 that I like: I have lots of other junk too...! Hurray for me, but nothing as cool as some of the thing I have seen listed on this thread. Wow, you guys are amazing. -Just Jeff
  5. ah ha! you're the schlub who beat me out of that auction! ... man I wanted that belt buckle.... *sigh*
  6. neat http://cgi.ebay.com/ATARI-2600-VCS-PORTABL...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. I am not affiliated with CTCW, except as a seller, but you are a little wrong... I am sure Parrot will show up and highlight the diffs for ya when he reads this seeya, -JustJeff
  8. I won the one in the auction link (the $750 one) in this thread and it is real, no doubt in my mind. -JustJeff
  9. I'll go for: inside atari basic atari basic-a self teaching guide PM sent -JustJeff
  10. I think prices are fair... however, selling a "common" will be tough... the R3's and up will sell, at least from what I have seen so far. But it is still too early I think, and I have only listed two games so far, so I am no expert.
  11. I sold one cart on there already with no problems... hey man, I have a feedback of "1" !! neat later, -JustJeff
  12. If his PI works, man, what a way to start collecting Atari 2600... I started with commons and worked my way up... this guy, he's got a crown jewel already...
  13. You made the right choice man. Once you start digging in again, you forget how much you loved certain games (eg. Raiders of the Lost Ark baby!) I thought I would only get one console to relive it all, now I have 13. It's a sweet sickness I tell ya. Cheers, -JustJeff
  14. One half of the clam shell matches what I think is legit, the other half is of a different type; not sure if that matters or not, just an observation (who knows what hopper the Asian guy who put it together grabbed it out of right?)
  15. You really need to find a 2600 and test play it. Take a pic of yourself playing it. Comparing your pics to my actual PI, the chip looks the same (but it also looks the same as an Asteroids chip I have laying on my desk). Can you post a pic of the inside of the black cart case? A good pic of that will tell me if it matches my authentic PI. I know that my PI's case on the inside has some unique characteristics. I'll let ya know if they match. I'll reserve my opinion until more pics are posted. If it looks legit, you'll get more here than you will on eBay. Worst case, no one offers you what you want here, then list it on eBay. -JustJeff
  16. Got the item today and it is the real deal. Fully inspected all parts. I did not take the shield off the chip, but you can tell by looking at it that is original and not modified. The sticker residue is definitely old and I would bet from the original red sticker from the original box (too bad no box!). Took my own set of pix, then put it all back together and played it for the first time (well, um, I have a repro too, but that doesn't count!) Anyway, not sure who maintains the "official" PI list, but you can add this "Texas Thrift Store" Pepsi Invaders to the list. I am 99% sure it is authentic. Man, the shivers that went up my spine as I turned my heavy sixer switch "on" in hopes of seeing the game screen come up ok. Yes! Then, as I played, the realization that I was playing such a rare item. Ah, so cool. Later, -JustJeff
  17. Actually, I think I paid fair market value for it... but historically, the price I got it for is quite low in my opinion. Recently one went for $695 though, so who knows.
  18. Yup, I finally landed a whale and am very happy. The last one went for $695 (BIN), so at roughly $750, the price is right on the mark in my book. I cannot wait to get it and verify condition.
