  1. My game came in the mail today. It arrived safe packed in a box. It was mailed Media Mail. The package was mailed 5/8/08 and arrived 6/5/08 it was less than 200 miles away. He had it double boxed and both boxes were opened by the postmaster and I had to add postage to receive it. Games cant be mailed by Media Mail! This was the reason for the delay. I need to go cancel my Paypal claim now. I am happy now but the wait sucked.

  2. Here's the latest message from the seller:

"I just got back from the post office.

A number of packages I took into the post office on May 8, 2008 have not made it into the system.

The problem is that I have been using PAYPAL shipping and carrying the packages to the window clerk. They take the packages, they put them in a basket, get sent to a postal hub, get scanned in there and everything works o.k.

At this very moment, it appears the packages were never scanned into the postal system. So, I have no proof that the packages were ever taken to the post office other then the fact that I created the shipping label.

I have had some success in the past doing a trace when this happens, but they will not allow me to put this paperwork through until the item is 30 days old. (It is currently 14 days)

The people at the post office said your package would be covered because I paid for insurance, but I am not sure if this makes sense to me.

Believe me, I will follow up on this. This is a show-stopper. I may have to stop doing eBay if I can't get this resolved. Between this and eBay's new hostile policies toward sellers on eBay, it probably is not worth the hassle for me.

At this point, I am asking you to bear with me another two weeks. This happened last Christmas and all the packages eventually showed up, but the tracking information was never updated until after the people received their packages.

Tomorrow I am talking to the main post office in the area and will try to get in touch with the local postmaster in the area.

I apologize for this problem, but it's not my fault. I would appreciate your patience for a while longer."

This was the same email he sent me! By the way people are getting wallets and playing cards from the seller after just a week or so. Look at his feedback.

  3. I wanted to bump this. I won the threshold boxed and first he said he could not find it then he found it and said it was a little damaged, then he mailed it and I still have not received it. He mailed it media mail :x and USPS has no tracking only that a label was made. I think i am about to file a paypal claim

  4. Thanks everyone so far for the orders. For everyone’s info we are wrapping the books in a plastic bag and then we have a very sturdy cardboard box that has almost inch long wings on each end to help with impact. I have mailed out 100's and many have said they arrived perfect and have not heard of any damaged books.

We will be attanding the Midwest Gameing Classic this weekend and will have books for sale both days of the show.

  5. The index was for games. And since the Color bar Generator was not a game and space was tight at the end of the book it was not placed in the index. We did not want to leave it out of the book since it's a neat part of the Atari history and we found a good place for it.

Sorry but I have not been able to read the books Phoenix or ABC To The VCS . I will get them right away when things calm down around the store or I might be able to find them at the MIdwest Classic show in a few weeks. They sound like great books also. We cant wait for new info to come to light and will keep track of it all for the next edition of the book.

Glad the book is arriving fast and safe. With all the rain in midwest someone said post office had it out in the rain and the box was all wet but the bag inside saved it.

  6. I'd think that Unlimited SaGa will become rare and possibly expensive. Arctic Thunder is already very difficult in the wild (at least around here, that is).

Guitar Hero for PS2 might be hard to get in the future, especially with working guitars. I'd also say that for the SingStar games, especially since those USB adapters are gonna get misplaced, lost, broken, etc. (not to mention the mikes). And then there's Final Fantasy XI, I can't imagine what a CIB copy with the hard drive will sell for twenty years down the road.

Then there's the debate of whether or not to buy Greatest Hits titles.

I dont think any of those singing games will be rare. I would think if you wanted them soon enough you could just download them to the PS3 hard drive. I think to keep Walmarts and Gamestops happy games will be released on disk for the first run and then GH versions will become downloads.

What good will a FF XI be other than for the pretty box? There wont be a single PS2 that works to use it on and the PS10 system wont play old games since 95% of the disk have been destroyed and back to the old point you could just download it on the current systems hard drive.

This is something I always think about since I deal in used games for a living and if everything becomes a download I wont have a Business much less a job.

  7. This is something we worked hard on for the book "Classis 80's Home Video Games" coming out soon. So that in each listing for the cart we had the correct manual listed with it. We found a pattern and that worked most of the time however there was always some weirdness.

Most Atari Picture labels had the larger White inst., Text labels had smaller black ones- all in full color.. Most Atari Corp 85 and newer had black and white larger or Multi Lang. Most 85 manuals had matching carts dated 85 and those manauls were in color and were thick for all lang. and then the same carts released later were not in color with matching dates most of the time.

As for the M-network the first release was full color on most and then the INTV later release was the black and white version.

Some of the later activision carts that are blue labels had the black and white manuals with them and then there is a few for the international release.

    Hope that I helped Steve
