Basic Programming was a big disappointment when I got it as a kid. I was way into computers but couldn't afford one until the 800XL so I was very excited about getting this. It really doesn't do much or teach you anything. This is probably my biggest let down for the Atari when I was young.

Sadly no joyboard but so far everything works, the power switch is a little sensitive on the sixer but thats it. Even though I already have Spy Hunter I would have easily paid $5 just for that one cart.
-
I bet he found that at a flea market for a few bucks. Come on, don't people even try to find out what something is worth? He must geniunely feel he has gold there. Pass the pipe......

This might be a dumb question but I'm really not up on Nintendo stuff. So is a toploader worth more then a regular front loading deck? If so, why? Less of them made?
-
Got this off of CL last night. Light sixer with all hookups, two joysticks, paddles, and 41 games. Price? $5.00, yep, five bucks. Seriously, why would anyone ask $5? They honestly thought that was all it was worth? Is it even worth posting something to get $5? I kinda felt bad. He also had a bag of Nintendo stuff, 2 NES decks, hookups, 6 controllers, light gun, powerpad and 16 games. $10.00. None of the Nintendo games were anything special but for $10 I had to buy it. But the big story is the $5 Atari find, still blows my mind.

Real good transaction, nice price, nice packing and fast shipping. Very pleased, thank you.

Great to deal with. I bought a nice lot of games on here and was so happy I bought three of his auctions on CTCW (my first purchases). Great deal, great packaging, and great shipping. Thank you.

Just got my package today from this lot. Everything was well packed and as described, very happy with my purchase. Thank you Trey!

I got an Absolute F-14 today and the case has Activision on the back. I also got a Blue label Freeway from Activision today that just has a box where the name would be. These cart types are my favorite though too because of the stacking ability.
-
If the box was not opened, I doubt it would be some kind of "returned" sticker since they'd probably just put the unit right back on the shelf. A layaway tag or something of that nature sounds reasonable, especially since it has someone's name written on it. I can't imagine why they'd put someone's name on a return tag. Btw, what is the amount on the price tag? ..Al JCPenney did put stickers on new merchandise back in the day. I acquired several new Intellivision games last year with the Penney's sticker right on the box. Here is one of them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...97069%26fvi%3D1 Different sticker though, not an in store one. I agree that a lay-away sticker makes the most sense with the name and all. Sometimes they take a name too if you are returning an item so it could have made sense. I am in no way trying to belittle this find, I just said that the sticker reminded me of that. Unfortunetly back in the early 80's returns were a big part of electronics, big part. People make alot of noise about bad consoles and things but I bet percentage wise it is about the same, just more people able to let everyone know now. I remember returning my T.O.B.O.R. after Christmas and seeing stacks of them and game consoles in the return piles, I don't think anybody got a working T.O.B.O.R. Anyways. did anyone here work at J.C. Pennys back in the day?

The first thought that came to mind when I saw the pictures was that sticker on the box. It's been 26 years now but that reminded me of the stickers they put on returned items. Most of it seems faded though so maybe I'm wrong.

I remember those Pac stickers and loved them. The cool part was how they were "puffy" and shiney plastic. I would love to have another set but $40 seems kinda high. I'm afraid I'd still be tempted to use them if I did buy them. There were even better ones though that weren't that cartoonish, more video game.

I have sent you three messages now, first one right after you posted. Please let me know. Thank you.

Great quote here: "This is an extremley rare game purchased from a huge Atari collection. There are very few out there much less that ever come for sale." And then: "The game looks to be in near mint condition with the exception that a previous owner wrote 1.00 on the back in magic marker." Not very rare if someone sold it for $1.00.

I've been debating for a couple days now, I'll go to 99 cents.

The arcade bundle does come with a 256mb memory card so you can save some stuff. You won't be able to download stuff really without a hard drive but you can use Xbox live, just not all the features.

Is a 32 inch HD TV good enough for an Xbox 360?
HFK replied to Random Terrain's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
I have a 32" widescreen LCD and I think it looks great. I wouldn't mind having a bigger set though, just can't afford one. 32 is plenty big in my opinion and I'm happy. One thing though on my LCD at least HDMI is the way to go. With the included video cable I get artifacts and ghosting, hook up an HDMI cable and the picture is perfect. -
I finally got my 360! Arcade version bundled with Guitar Hero III and controller. Also got the 60g drive and Tiger Woods '09. A good Christmas. btw: I suck at GH, guess I need to practice.....

Out of everything I have Apollo games with good labels have been the hardest, especially end labels, even if they are there they are ready to drop. Zimag labels get all wrinkly real easy. For me at least decent Activision carts have not been too hard to find and the one Parker cart I have without a label is ....... Frogger! I agree Data Age and silver labels suck because of scratches, they really look like crap if you don't baby them. Also Epyx gets a big fail from me, those white labels crap out quick. Anyways, my vote goes to Apollo.

From Curt himself: Hi, As you may know, I have been expecting delivery within the 1st week of December of the first batch of joysticks - approx. 5,000 of the 10,000 pcs orders. The current US arrival estimate has been December 6-9th. I have been in a bit of a battle with the factory in Shenzhen that I'm using. Normally I would use a factory with whom I have a very strong relationship, however they could not accept such a small order of 10,000 pcs. I know it sounds like a lot, but in manufacturing, where they do 100K-1Mill pc runs, my order is very low. As such, for the last week I've been having a delivery conflict with the factory. They keep re-prioritizing my order back and back and after the past week of trying to convince them to stay with the December schedule, this evening (Monday morning their time) I've been told that I will not have my orders built until December 18-19 to the 22-23 , which means they will not arrive until after the New Year, nearly a month behind schedule. This is puts you in a position where you wanted these joysticks for presents for the holidays and my timing was meant for just that which has now been thrown off completely. I am a very fair and honest person, and I will not expect anyone to have to wait any further for their orders, so if you do not wish to wait, I will fully honor and fully refund your order if you reply back with your order# and I will process your return. I can not guarantee that if you re-order later that I will have enough left to take an order from you later on, again, this is only a 10,000 piece run and as it stands I am at over 8,000 orders so there are not many left. I apologize for this inconvenience to you and everyone and I am trying to get in a DHL shipment of at least a few hundred for the very early orders that were taken in order to at least get a small batch out to very early buyers. Regards, Curt I am kind of disapointed but I will just wait. I guess too it depends on when you placed your order. Good luck with everything Curt!

Also, awesome pics on that "Gauntlet".

At first I thought someone started a new account as a joke but then after the auction listing, what the hell? I think $100 for this lot would be a good day. If he seriously thinks it is worth over $1000 I wonder what he paid for it all, either he got taken really good or he is clueless and thinks he took other people really good (well I guess that would be clueless either way). Just think, if he actually got what he is asking me and many of you would be able to take quite a nice vacation just on our extra commons.
