  1. I wasn't very fond of the game, Action Fighter for the SMS. It's part Spy Hunter and part verticle scrolling shooter. The verticle scrolling part I hated. The bullets fired from enemy ships blended into the clouds, enemies took about 3-6 hits with the initial weapon, and when you died, you lose all your power-ups. I thought it would be a fun game but it's downright frustrating.

  2. Here's what I got (and did) with the BOC:

Got some fences and painted them for the junkyard on the O gauge train.

A barricade to prevent trains from falling off the edge of the model world. Plus a shopping cart car, a ramp I used for a slot car highway and some candy which I forgot to take pics of.

  3. Erhm...an old thread but I might as well update with the FM expansion board I bought from a guy in Australia. I have the 1988 SMS board and I had to do some minor soldering; remove a capacitor and wire to where the cap was on the board. One other thing is there is (was) a coating on the SMS board expansion contacts that had to be scraped off. You do have to check which board you have such as the 1986, 1988 or the SMS 2 as there are different caps you need to remove. The FM board comes with a switch so you can either play with the FM sound or not. You just need to drill, or in my case, take a Dremel and make a cavity in to hot glue in the switch.

Games that support the FM option do sound a lot better- only games I wish that had the FM option but don't are Space Harrier and Phantasy Star even though the Japan versions do have it. :(

  4. Okay, but first you have to pass a test. Imagine a game where people guess the names of US States and their capitals based on a drawing of the outline of the State. Now imagine what sort of artwork you might want on the package to express the idea of what this game is, and to get people to buy the game.

What did you come up with? Did it look anything like this:

So, if you're into dropping huge amounts of acid, then you probably qualify to work in Atari's art department. Apply soon!

All I gotta do is act and think like Salvador Dali then. :-D
