I skimmed through an article about Metroid/Castlevania type games and even though a title is 16-bit , its sister game, Wonder Boy in Monster World, for Master System could be a Metroid-like type game. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap also for the SMS could as well be categorized as one.

Crack'ed could of used Alien Brigade's controls but instead, it felt awkward so it's a "meh" game. Dark Chambers is also in the "meh" category. Maybe if it had more speed and less putting players to sleep, it could be a good game.

It does happen at times when there's the good game but the horrendous artwork for other systems as well keeps gamers at bay from playing them. Such examples are Mega Man 1 for the NES and that horrible artwork for Cosmic Fantasy 2 for the TG-16 CD. I did feel cheated one time as I thought the screenshot on the back of Kung Fu Master for the 7800 was supposed to have the giant score fonts:

Timing was one issue. Price was another. Nintendo really pushed to have a cheaper, yet more powerful system out on shelves. Even the Epoch Cassette Vision was the dominant system in '81-83.
