  2. If you're using one of the newer digital TV's that could be the reason. You may need to use an older analog TV set. I've had a similar problem on certain games using a digital TV.

1up! I'm getting my crystal radio out! This is little more than a diode and condenser plate with a screw. And a set of headphones of course. Everytime the lightning strikes I get a blast of static. Cool!!

Awesome!!! Hooray for digital OTA television!

  5. I bought one off of eBay a few weeks ago. Best to find one with the B.I.N. option. I was sniped the last auction and then I think the sniper relisted it for $2,500.
  6. There was a small business selling only video games somewhere in Milwaukee ages ago and how shocked I was looking at the prices of Atari 2600 games back in the 1980s. Most of the games were $50 and up. Back then with the 80s, those prices were pretty steep. It's like spending about $178-200 on a new Atari game today.
  7. I remember playing this at a local bar and grill when I was young. No I was too young to drink. Baby Pac-Man. I can't remember where I played this-either at a Chuck E Cheese or Showbiz Pizza but that was confusing to play. I had no idea if I was playing the pinball or the maze part.
  8. Atari games were also sold at the former Zayre stores, Kohls department stores, Radio Shack (I think), K-Mart (where I got my first Atari 2600), Toys R Us...the list goes on.
  9. A steak isn't really a steak when it's processed and wrapped with bacon, frozen and wrapped in hard-to-open plastic pouches.

  11. So today, Monday Aug 27, I went to a collectibles and video games store up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The place called Freaktoyz is just a small store packed with all kinds of stuff including video games from Atari up to current systems. Not a bad place as they had a large assortment of games. I bought several Atari 2600, 5200, Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, SNES and Genesis games while there. Most of their pricey games were in jewelry cabinets. They also had other collectibles like comic books, toys, etc. But I was looking for video games. I didn't find any holy grails like a heavy sixer or anything-just to find anything cheap for my collection. Also interesting to know- the owners of the store know a guy I used to know used to have a collectible/games store not too far where I live. I used to try to sell my self-published comic books in that store on consignment. On a related note, I could be wrong, but it's possible a comic book store was in the very same building before Freaktoyz moved in and I tried to sell my comic books there also. So if you decide to go, make sure you take a pitstop at a gas station before as they don't allow anyone to use their bathroom. If I would go again, it probably be "yes", but watch their prices on certain games.
  12. Make sure you also use adequate ventilation and take care the iron will be very hot- about 700-900 degrees F. Take care that any flying/dripping solder doesn't land on your skin. Once I had some melted solder drip down into my shoe (I had no socks on) and that didn't feel too good. I even heard of a guy who accidentally licked the soldering tip while it was still hot.

  14. Best is to practice on some old electronic board you don't use just to build confidence like mentioned above. I know what it's like to be nervous when soldering with delicate electronics. You do have to clean the area to be soldered otherwise the solder won't adhere. Here's another video to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPLD3fYfEYc
  15. Went to a GW and found a TI Speak and Music.

  16. I like one like the Weller mentioned above. I also prefer one that you can swap/replace tips. Otherwise you may want to have one to use and another for a backup. I bought an iron just recently at the Home Dept though 40W-is that too hot? http://www.homedepot...51#.UDbsDaDdc1c
  17. Sprint Master. 1) Red and blue cars on label and in game. 2) Nine tracks. 3) Same label as Pole Position.(blue vs. red / skies and road stripes) Assuming I am right... Correct! Nice Job!
  18. Two more guesses and I'll have another hint.
