  1. Could the negotiations be reopened if you guys could show that there is interest within the Intellivision community?
  2. So I went to a convention on Friday with some friends. When we were not doing stuff at the convention, we went to places around city the convention was in.. (This happen twice during the day.) Well one of friends who was with me. Knew all the good places to go in this city, which included the local Goodwill. Well later in the afternoon, we were again waiting for something else to start at the convention. So we decided to go check out Goodwill. When we got there, I made a beeline to where the electronics/housewares section was. After looking around and not finding anything interesting besides some controllers. I started to look through their large stacks of electronic hardware. They had stuff like DVD players, VCR's, CD Players, and audio receivers in the stacks. While I was Iooking though one of the stacks. I glanced to my left to see what was in the next stack. I noticed one of the devices in the stack had a Compact Disc Interactive badge on the front of the disc tray. It didn't immediately register in my mind it was, apart from the fact that it was not normal. It was enough for me however to investigate as to what this thing was. Looking at it closer, I saw the input port on the front. Then I realized what it was, and the model number on the front confirmed it. I found a CD-I, something I never though I would randomly find in the wild. Specifically, I found a Phillips CDI 910. As for the price, It had a sticker on it for $9.99. But since the sticker was yellow, it was half off. So I got it for $5 instead.. It's in really good shape for the most part. There are some scratches on the top of the system. But being it was there long enough to be sold for half off. I wouldn't be surprised if they were done while it was at Goodwill. Another problem is that the tray doesn't close all the way when you press the open/close button. So I have to push it close the rest of the way, but I doesn't bother me too much. I also couldn't find the controller/remote for it, but I can one off feeBay eBay if I need to. Lastly, It didn't have the power cord either. However, since it does use the same kind of cord a desktop uses. That is not a problem for me at all since I have plenty of extras. Anyways, It does seem to work just fine as far as I can tell. I got it plugged up to a TV in the house, and the picture looked clean. It also had no problems loading the Music CD I put in it. The best part about all of this. Is that is that one of my friends who was with me, has also been wanting to get a CD-I. He walked by it at least twice (from what I saw), before I found it in one of the stacks. Needless to say he's jealous right now. tl;dr: I found a Phillips CD-I for $5 at a Goodwill on Friday. Here are pictures:
  3. Both of the following are for the Apple II(e). First one: It was a racing game based around doing multiplication. The car always seemed to be on a constant curve until you finished. Second one: It deal with paper airplanes, and definitely seemed to have a educational flair to it. I think you were able to make them in the game too.
  4. You know, this would make for an awesome Kickstarter project. Maybe some of us should start to get such a project rolling.
  5. Went to my local Goodwill yesterday. Came home with a unopened Jakks Pacific AC Adapter for Plug-in-plays that attaches to battery compartments for $1.50. Tried it out on my Namco plug-n-play and it worked great. I want to try it on some of my other plug-n-play when I can find them. I also picked up Myst 10th Anniversary DVD Edition set for $2.50. It comes with Myst, Riven, and Exile on three DVD's.
  6. I submitted my system using the online form last week, and I still don't see mine listed. Did you not yet have the time to add it yet, or did you not get it?
  7. This is the first I've heard about this stuff happening. It's sad to see Atari US selling off all of it's IP's. I hope they get some proper homes. Any Idea if this affects the rights to the classic hardware too?
  8. We are slowly getting there. I wonder what prizes are up for offer....
  9. Is it the same one that was talked about here?http://atariage.com/forums/topic/214393-samsung-gxtv-big-deal-or-dead-weight/
  10. Yes it is, though I can't be for sure that it was translated properly with the online translator I used. (I also can't speak or read Klingon.)
  11. I've personally have yet to buy anything by myself on ebay yet. (When I was younger, i would have my mom use her account.) But speaking of dumb packers. Somewhere around 2007/2008, my dad was looking for some Union 76 Antenna ball for his car to have at car shows. While he was originally searching for newer ones. He came across a vintage one that would be perfect for his car. So with the help of my mom (he not a computer savvy person), he bid on the ball and won it. Now think about this for a moment, how would you ship a small vintage styrofoam ball in the mail? Well a wise person would ship it in a small box of course. The seller he bought the ball from put the thing in a bubble mailer. Needless to say it arrived with a large flat spot on one side of the ball.
  12. Here we go, lets try this: intellivision chu'. SoH intellivision chu'. intellivision chu' ghaH. intellivision chu'. SoH intellivision chu'. intellivision Quj chaH.
  13. I've had my INTV System III since last October. I got it at yard sale for $5 with no games. But this isn't important right now So yesterday I noticed that there was a database where you could go add your system serial number to it. So after a little bit of searching for my console, and then cleaning up my room some. I finally got around to trying to add my console to the database today. So when I read the instructions about how to submit your console to the database. It said make sure to add all letters and numbers. Since my serial number started with RH, I was curious to see if there were any others like it in the database. So I went to look at the database, and sure enough there were a few units listed that started with RH. What surprised me however was that they were all listed as PAL consoles. But when I look at mine, it has all indications of what I think would be considered an NTSC unit. Is it possible that INTV System III's which have serials that start with RH are not just limited to PAL regions? Or is there something else going on here? Here are some pictures if it helps:

  18. There is a guy in Japan selling 1000 of them. http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w88928959
  19. Not to mention the R.O.B.'s have been working over time in order to make sure the servers run smoothly.
  20. Sounds like DX Ball my friend! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DX-Ball http://www.blitwise.com/Scorched_Reality/index.html
  21. I do find it kind of weird they we have yet to hear solid details on when it's going to be released. But if the impressions I'm getting from people about Hyperkin's past units are correct. Maybe they have decided to take their time in order to make sure this is a quality device upon release. It still bugs me that companies like Hyperkin don't entertain the idea of adding Atari 2600 support though.
  22. It's been a while since I've posted on Atari Age, so all the more reason to show off my latest find. So I was looking around the local Craigslist last week in boredom, and I was in Video Game section. I noticed someone was trying to sell 3 Atari 2600's. So I checked it out, sorta expecting to see a uneducated price for the lot. Turns out, the seller wanted only $20 for the trio. The whole lot was listed with three consoles (one six switch and two four switch's), two sets of paddles, one controller, and no AC adapters. While a decent deal in my opinion, I decided to set back and think about it. Fast forward to yesterday, I was again on Craigslist and looking around. During this time I came across the listing again. After thinking about if for the moment, and decided to see if the guy still had them. Turns out he still (surprisingly) did, so I agreed to buy the lot. When I get to the guys house to pick them up. He told me that he decided to throw in another 2600. This fourth console was Vader, but it had two switches broken off. (Not a problem for me.) The switch issue is why he didn't even bother mentioning it in the listing he said. So I went expecting to buy three Atari 2600's, and left with four Atari 2600's! Not a bad day at all in my opinion!
