  1. I don't know why VGCollector is having issues. But they are are making it real easy for me (Video Game Trader) to steal market share. I guess I should be thankful that they are unreliable, but I hate to see people get ripped off. Maybe I need to come up with some kind of promotion to give free subscriptions to their current "unhappy" subscribers ... I will have to think about that. Tom www.VideoGameTrader.com PS. I do not use a "distributer" for my mailing. I do it all myself. I need to make sure it is done right. Our next issue (January) is due to go to press soon. We have been printing since May 2008 and have been bi-monthly since the 2nd printed issue. We print 6 times a year and have not yet missed a deadline. We offer a trial subscription for only $8.99 on our site (for 3 bi-monthly issues)
  2. Good luck with your new publication. I would be interested in helping you print it and/or make it available online. Please feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected] (remove SPAM) Tom

  4. Darn. I use the guide as a checklist myself and if new games are only published once or twice a year that's a lot of work keeping up. It's a lot easier to just go down a list as you purchase them. I also would rather see the magazine go bi-monthly then eliminate games. Listing all the games and keeping it as current as possible is a point to tout for consumers as well. I can understand the difficulty of the situation however. This is an update on the Price Guide section. I have decided to list every game. I will spend the extra money to print and list every title. I just think the magazine would not be complete otherwise. Also, as a side note. If anyone is going to VGXpo, please check out the Expo Guide. You will notice that Half of the guide is a special issue of Video Game Trader. About 5000 will be distributed FREE at the expo. We will also be selling Issue #9 at the show as well. I also still have a "few" copies of Issue 8. They can be purchased at VideoGameTrader.com via Paypal and J2Games.com & GoodDealGames.com via Credit Card For those that have read issue 8 (It's also available as a free read on our site) please let me know what you think... Good & Bad. I am very passionate about making a Top Notch Quality Magazine and would love all of the feedback you can provide. Thanks, Tom Sansone PS. For those NESers out there.. I corrected the price for Stadium Events for Issue #9
  5. Thanks for the feedback. And I understand what you are saying. I have asked this question on many forums, to my contributers, and subscribers. So far, your thoughts are in the minority . But, having said that, I have still not decided what to do. I am leaning towards removing the lowest priced games from each list, but only if I save significant space in the magazine. If I do that, I would publish a once a year "special checklist" issue with all games. Tom
  6. It has been 8 months already and I am excited to make some announcements. I also need your help. But first, I wanted to give you a status update on Issue 8. It is at the printer and should be in my hands by 9/1 and mailed the next day to subscribers/wholesalers/individual issue purchasers. I am sorry for the delay, but hopefully my announcement will ease things a bit. Starting with Issue #8 (Being mailed September), VGTrader is switching to a Bi-Monthly format. What does this mean? Currently we "publish" an electronic issue each and every month, and we "print" an issue quarterly. What is going to happen now? We are going to "print" an issue every other month (6 print issues a year). Each print issue will be mailed a full 30 days before the issues appears online in electronic format. Now, as a subscriber, there is no need to download and PRINT the issues as ALL issues will be in print. I also need your input. Since the magazine is ultimately designed for YOU, I would like all of your input. The price guide is becoming bigger and bigger as I add more system. (Intellivision will be added in Issue 9) I am thinking of changing to the format the sports price guides use. Instead of listing EVERY game for all of the systems, I am thinking of removing all games at the lowest price point and just listing a common price for them. For instance, if the lowest value Atari 2600 game is $0.25, instead of listing all of those $0.25 games, I would have a listing called "Unlisted Common $0.25" This will save space in the magazine and allow for more content. Sound off! Please reply letting me know if it is important to you to have EVERY single game listed? Or if the "Unlisted Common format" is OK. Everyone that replies will be sent a free copy of our special VGXpo issue. (Only available if you attend VGXpo) So please post your address, if you don't want your address public them publicly post your comments and PM me your address under the same ID. Thanks, The Video Game Trader Team

  19. Hello, I am the editor and creator of Video Game Trader Magazine. We have now released our 3rd issue (PDF format) and would like an opinion as to how we are doing. We currently cover classic systems like the NES, Master System, Game Boy Classic... etc. We recently added the Turbo Grafx 16 and will add the Atari 2600 to our price guide in Issue 4. Our goal is to develop a base of readers for our PDF version and then offer a professionally printed publication once there is enough interest. I will be at Too Many Games in May to promote the magazine, and will have about 100-200 special issue copies to give out free. If you have not yet checked out our magazine, please head over to www.videogametrader.com and let me know what you think. Our latest issue is 24 pages and includes the price guide. Since I designed this magazine with YOU in mind, I would like to hear from you. The good. The bad. And the ugly. Don't hold your punches. And if anyone wants to contribute, please let me know. Thanks for reading. Without any advertising we have had about 500 readers in January and over 1000 in February. I expect up to 2000 in March. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering. We currently offer two versions of the magazine. 1) a free online viewable magazine in PDF format (non printable) and soon to be upgraded to a flash magazine. and 2) a printable PDF subscription. Thanks again! Thomas Sansone See you at Too Many Games.
