  1. Head's up! We are done with CGE Adventures, the new Atari 2600 game created around live events from Classic Gaming Expo 2010!

CGE Adventures is soon to release the first week of April (preorders) and will be shipping in May. CGE Adventures will be for sale initially, exclusively on GameGavel.com! It will be available in few packages:

    1) Atari 2600 cartridge, complete with plastic case, instructions AND special "feelies". In addition, the first 69 sold will include a bonus autographed podcast promo CD (signed by the three RetroGamingRoudup hosts) just like the one in the game that was stolen by the "thief".

    2) Complete as above + your name listed as a "Supporter" in the manual (limited run)

    OR

    2) A rom copy and digital game manual.

Pricing is still being determined based on final costs. But more than likely the complete version will be around $40 +/- (shipped!) and the Rom/manual will be around $10. There will be both NTSC and PAL versions available! Carts will also be sold in the UK during the Revivial and Play Expos AND at the Portland RetroGamingExpo coming up later this year. So there will be plenty opportunities to nab a copy. This will not be a limited run and more can always be made if the demand is there.

I will update this thread with the Sales Listing when it goes live. We have put nearly a year of production into this product and hope you will all have as much fun playing it as we all had making it! Viva Las Vegas!

  2. It is a good way to show lots of product! And if users can change what is showing (featured, watching, saved search, last searched, highest priced, lowest priced, recently listed, ending soonest) that would be cool. We would still have to have a "featured" listings area as we do have quite a few folks paying to feature on the homepage. Maybe at the top or it could be made a seperate search option for the pinboard. I think people would click on featured alot to see what people are promoting.

We are also going to have a "trending auctions" box that will show the most watched items.

  3. Are you guys all seeing this new style on eBay's homepage? If so, care to let me know if that is something you like or dislike? I was considering incorporating that into GameGavel as well, then giving the viewer the choice to change the default pinboard listings from "recently listed" to "ending soon, highest priced, lowest priced, closest, etc

Side note, we are also going to have "saved" searches finally available soon. This is probably the most asked for feature. Better late than never. Next we are improving the category search drill down as well. Improvements and a facelift coming!

  4. Good list, most definitely. Laser Gates seems underrated, that's a treat and a half. I was just reflecting yesterday on how completely great Crazy Climber for the 2600 is. The gameplay is just wholly addictive, and it's about as perfect as a port of that kind can be. Such irony that it was so rare. Worth the $500 or so it goes for CIB these days? Maybe not, 'til I wins the lottery. :)

As I said, I found it loose in an Atari lot for $15 at the swaps. Totally missed it until i got the box of games home and went through them. I was so surprised to find it in the wild :)

  5. Some new video of our lead progemmer's (Byte Knight) son playing the thief, demonstrating the technique for getting the prized CD's and making a run for it. Do you recognize the iconic "Boss" guarding the CD's in the casino?
