  1. I would like to announce that on the 24th of every month, starting this December, is Auction Independence Day on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com and Vendazzle.com. Since launching we are now over 1,500 members strong and that gives us some "strength in numbers". As one of our members OldGames puts this: "Independence Day for Buyers and Sellers! - Celebrate the new choices and opportunities that CTCW provides, and the fact that we're no longer subject to the short sighted policies of a venue whose direction no longer matches our own!! " I couldn't have said it better myself. So please join together as the community we are and maybe the Video Gaming Community along with ChaseTheChuckwagon can make a stand against the corporate auction sites that abound and show that we have a viable choice for our auction business. And, considering that a very small % of our 1,500+ members are running auctions, please use this as a time to try running some auctions. You can still use the other auction sites, but on this day, join us in listing at least 5 items on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com or Vendazzle.com. If we all join together we can get 10,000+ auctions running each month and that is something that will send a strong message to everyone that we gamers have had enough. And it will also insure that the site stays fresh in peoples minds as more auctions means more traffic and bidding activity for all our sellers. And it give me something to promote around the net each month. It is my hope that on this day, a modest amount of new and interesting auctions will appear, maybe even some promotional deals from some of our great sellers, and that will draw in more users. Basically, I want the 24th of each month to be a day you as a buyer can visit our site and be guaranteed to see a significant amount of new items up for sale. And, to minimize your risk as a seller to avoid fees consider this. Our listings are free. Then if you elect not to use any Listing Enhancements (home page featured items, bold titles, etc.) and forgo a reserve price (small fee there) auction for a conservative but fair starting bid, then you will only have fees if your items sell (3% up to $100). If they don't then no fees. I know December 24th is the day before X-mas, but if you can't get your listings up on that day, just attempt to run some listings before the end of the year. With our exisitng member base of nearly 1,600 + any of you that register as a result of A.I.D. we can cement the Chuckwagon and Vendazzle as less expensive auction alternatives. Are you with us on this? This will be a single thread for A.I.D., and all sellers can promote their A.I.D. auctions and/or promotions here.
  2. This really feels right and my wife came up with a killer logo. Now to get this thing off the ground
  3. At the recommondation of many of you and also a trademark attorney, I am changing the name from Vendoogle.com to Vendazzle.com. The new logo is below and the site change over will be done very soon. Thanks for your input in this matter
  4. What's Old Is New Again On . . . . ________________________________________________________________________________ Vendoogle.com is Launched & Live! If you are registered on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com then you are already registered on Vendoogle.com. All feedback and discount levels (if you are fortunate to have bought or won a Lifetime Seller Membership) will transfer to the new site so you can start listing and selling right away. A Chuckwagon memberwide email went out with all the details. Two great sites, only one registration. That's what it's all about. http://www.Vendoogle.com
  5. As always, I see it as my duty to keep doing what I can as the owner of ChaseTheChuckwagon.com, to keep driving buyer traffic to the site to bid on your items. I have just finished our newest feature of the Chuckwagon which is a daily feed, which feeds 1,000 (soon to be 3,000) of our auction items through a new classified site started by some ex-Ebay Brass - http://www.oodle.com. They are growing very fast and have lots of traffic and are competing with craigslist on the classifieds front. To see some of our feeds in action go to oodle and search for Intellivision. Scroll through the listings and you will now see some ChaseTheCHuckwagon.com auctions appearing. This will work for all our items and will instantly bring more traffic to the Chuckwagon. I hope this makes some of you feel better about listing on the site. We are growing fast and the # of bids and % of items getting sold is on the rise. And we are very close to launching our Auction Site to sell all your other stuff so stay tuned for a pending announcement on Vendoogle.com.
  6. VenDazzle.com It's Absolutely Fabulouuuuuuuuuuuuuuussssss! Ya, my wife mentioned that one when I was on the Vendoozi, Vendoozle kick. But I hadn't seen it typed out and it does look pretty good.
  7. Based on what I've been reading I am good with Vendoogle.com. I am going to stick with it for now
  8. Trying to find current info on this topic is tough. Here's another interesting article. http://www.publish.com/c/a/Search/Life-in-...ht-Cross-Hairs/
  9. What are everyone's thoughts about a .net vs. a .com. Does it really matter any more? I really like Junkanew and .net is available -- .com is not. As I said before its a Bahamian Party so I could have an Islandy flair to the site which always wins people over. JunkAnew.net. A lot of people would go to the wrong site I think. You could always use it as a redirect site VenderBlender.com is available? My wife doesn't like it though. NewJunkCity.com?

  11. Damn, how'd you come up with that? Now we are thinking. I also see that irevend.com is also available. Check out these interesting links on Google and oogle domains: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum25/2722.htm http://www.submitexpress.com/bbs/about532.html It looks like http://www.froogle.com either lost the fight our were bought out by Google. Still reading up on this. Correction -- it was http://www.froogles.com that was in this lawsuite. They are still around. Was a precident set here? I could do Vendoozle.com also.

  13. I think you just sealed your fate right there. The internet is forever and you just gave them some good ammunition to use against you. It's funny I thought about that while typing that. I think its obvious though. I'll pay Al off to "lose" this thread LOL, yeah... you may be right. Talk to an attorney, that's the only way to go on this. I've found that sometimes their answers are surprising and totally different than I would be led to expect by having watched every episode of Law & Order ever made. Here is something I found searching Google Trademark: One of the conditions for all uses is that you can't mess around with our marks. Only we get to do that. Don’t remove, distort or alter any element of a Google Brand Feature. That includes modifying a Google trademark, for example, through hyphenation, combination or abbreviation, such as: Googliscious, Googlyoogly, GaGooglemania. Do not shorten, abbreviate, or create acronyms out of Google trademarks. Thoughts?

  15. For me, it's not that I don't like the name (I could take it or leave it I guess -- it's an okay name), I just wouldn't want you to get in trouble legally, even if you are completely in the right, my guess is that the big "G"'s lawyers have more cash than you have. Just not a great idea to dangle a temptation like that in front of them. Judging by CTCW and its success, you maybe have a good chance to make a go at being an ebay competitor. It may be worth a little more time to think of something that won't get you in trouble later. And no, offhand, I don't have any better ideas for a name, sorry. As for oodle.com... it's not oogle.com. If they tried oogle.com, they'd be in trouble. And I think if they attached a different word to the front of "oogle" they may run into trouble. Remember, it's not that there's anything wrong with what you're proposing legally, it's that they have a lot more money than you have (I assume). Ya, I hear what your saying. I would be lieing if I told you I didn't mean for it to sound like Google. And, I thought adding Vend in front of oogle would resinate with Google. I actually originally was going to call it Vendoozi but then changed it Still pondering this Are any of you attorneys? If anything I would imagine they would give me a cease and desist. Then I would have to change the name, send out an email to all our members and get some press in the meantime. I think that would be worst case. I will call a patent/trademark attorney I know this week and get his input.

  17. Like PATS1717 said and I agree. Not to worried about it. It would be some great press for us if they tried. They certainly don't have a legal right to the word . . . oogle. Okay, sure, good luck with that. I have news for you, "oogle" isn't even a word, you're thinking of "ogle", "oogle" is obviously reminiscent of "Google" and even if they didn't have a leg to stand on, they could lawyer you to death. And they will, mark my words. Especially when they are exploring starting their own auction website themselves. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely rooting for you, that's why I hate to see you spend money and energy on a name you will have to abandon. (Dumb name, besides. But that's just my opinion... Reminds me of boondoggle.) He's right... please come up with a better name. Ok. Let's open this up. If any of you have some ideas for the site let me know. First, off I have tried all obvious and not so obvious names with the words auction, bid buy sell vend, seller, buyer, vend, etc. etc. Believe me it's not easy finding a name this day and age. What about SoCalMikes.com? I really liked Junkanew.com but its taken but I have made an offer on it -- A junkanoo is a caribbean party - that would be cool and the whole Junk to New thing is cool. We will have to see on that one. What are some ideas you all have? To see if a name is available goto http://www.networksolutions.com and try your luck And I have just as many people that really love the name -- it kinda grows on you. I still think Google would have no say in our name. The bottom line is Vendoogle and Google are entirely different words. There is site started by some Ebay brass now called http://www.oodle.com (which I think sounds more like Google). I appreciate your thoughts, though but think it will be ok.
  18. Arcade and Pinball will all still be on the Chuckwagon. Bascially anything remotely part of video/arcade game collecting will still be on the Chuckwagon. Everything else moved to Vendoogle.com.
  19. Like PATS1717 said and I agree. Not to worried about it. It would be some great press for us if they tried. They certainly don't have a legal right to the word . . . oogle.
  20. Good question, but I really want the Chuckwagon to be only video games - to keep out the clutter of everything else, if you know what I mean. It's a hobby close to my heart and I think a special dedicated place to buy and sell is what everyone would prefer. In fact, the Chuckwagon will be moving the toys, games, music and movies, comics to Vendoogle.com. The two sites will be linked together in some way, so both should share members between each other. And one more reason, I had people questioning my name Chase The Chuckwagon in the video gaming community, trying to market this name to the general non-gaming public would be a real challenge What are the odds you might wind up in trouble because of the name? I'm sure the phrase isn't copyrighted, but any chance Purina or whomever marketed the original might give you crap? I still can't get over how Atari gave the author of Adventure 2 such BS. Adventure is a common word. WTF? I think its ok. I mean, it was only the name of their video game-- not a company slogan or anything. The Chuckwagon is pretty obscure now, but if it gets huge, they may want to discuss it, but I seriously doubt it

  22. Oh, yea of little faith. The Chuck is not selling out, in fact we are starting an auction site for everything else as well. News is forth coming
  23. Thank. . . & Thanks. Also, we will have a new auction site for everything else coming soon. Maybe as soon as tomorrow
  24. 1,500 Members Today! $50,000 + In Auction Sales. Also, I have had many members express interest in me starting another auction site to sell everything else. I have given it alot of thought and I am excited to tell everyone, within 7-10 days a new site will be launched where you can all sell everything else. Details are forth coming, but at the least your current registration will carry over to the new site as well and you can jump back and forth between them using your exisitng user ID and password. If you are set up with a Seller Membership this will carry over to the new site so you can continue selling for free over there as well Of course, the new site will feature our same low cost fee structure as on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com. I will make a formal annoucement here when the new site goes live.
