Chase the Chuckwagon auction site initial critique
Parrothead replied to Frotz's topic in Auction Central
Hey Frotz- First off, are you the one responsible for Frotz in the IPhone/Touch applications? I am guessing so, nice job if that's the case To address some of your issues: 1) Not sure about this one? When you start an auction it will ask you if you want to sell a similar item. Then there is a pretty prominent gray box you click on to take you to a fresh auction page that is already filled in the way it was on the previous auction. Also, keep in mind that you can fill in default shipping/payment instructions so you don't need to do it within the auction listing every time. To do this simple click on Seller Tools in your members area, then along the right side of the page you will see some Preferences. Click the Default Shipping/Payment link to set that. Also in this tool area you can set your paypal payment address to it will then imbed a paypal button into the invoices you send your buyers. Also, there is a clever seller promotional tool in the bottom left corner of the screen titles "Lists for Promotions". This creates a sweet, clickable list of your auctions you can post in the forums you frequent to advertise your auctions. I hope this clears this one up regarding the "sell similar" function. Please try it again and see if you missed it 2) That is correct. Eastern Time is our official time. 3) After you list a few items you will get used to this. Essentially, once you add your photos, then the link is in the middle of the page. From there on, however, I believe it's at the lower portion of the page. The only reason is that after your photos get attached, you really don't need to scroll down. Just click the link that appears in the middle of the page right after your photos load and you will be briskly taken to the next page. It actually will seem more normal the more you list 4) That is correct. Once you start the auction you can't change ending time. Since you are generally not charged to list it, you could end it and then relist and adjust your ending time then. Keep in mind that you have nice freedom in choosing your ending time and date up to 10-days to run your auctions. 5) True, but nothing I can do with that now that it's all in place. Again, it gets a bit easier after a few listings are under your belt. Doesn't take to much time to cycle through the categories. 6) Unsure about this one? It is kind of there to catch something that may not have a specific category. Kind of like Ebay uses "Vintage Games". But I see what you are saying there. 7) Agreed. I will see if there is a way to implement that change in a future upgrade. All unfinished listings will automatically get saved in your "Pending Listings" area under My Listings in your member page - you don't need to save it as it will do this automatically. Try it and see how it works. You will like it. 9) They are a way to promote ones auctions. Kind of like a highlighted listing for Ebay. I hope some of these address your concerns and appreciate your input. Please feel free to join us over on the Chuckwagon forums as well. We have a specific area to discuss site suggestions and improvements. Welcome aboard the Chuckwagon -
I have had two of these and ended up selling them both times. I really would like the Topo II signed by Nolan. I just found one at the swap meets about 6 months ago for $100. Ended up selling it for around $1,200.00. I will keep the next one though Topo looks very cool sitting in the home arcade.

I agree it's in amazing shape for its age. One of the reasons I had to have it. It's the only Black and White in my collection since getting rid of my Atari Fire Truck. Here are some shots in it's new home Makes a nice shelf for my TRS-80 IV as well.

Just had this delivered this morning. Was this the first clowns/balloons game or was this an Atari knock off? Or did Atari knock Exidy off when they did Circus Atari? Pretty fun game none the less

I am an idiot. Bid on it without looking at that. Needless today I did a "roadrunner" retract. It pays to actually read these threads sometimes Am I blind though, where does it say this shipping amount? I noticed it after I had bid on the confirmation.

Umm that buyer is a collector who sells off spares and doubles and is for sure not a "reseller". Umm I've seen this reseller on eBay for a while and would be quite shocked if this "collector", by 2008, didn't already have a loose Espial, and didn't buy this game simply to mark it up $30. You cannot blame resellers for reselling. It's what they do. If you feel strongly enough that the game should have gone to a collector at that price, instead of posting it in the marketplace forum which is chock full of resellers (thus the marketplace name), you should have picked a known collector and PMd the link to them. Good deal on that. I wish I had seen it to get one more notch in my Tigervision collection

Hey everyone - Just wanted to let everyone here know that next Thursday, October 23rd, 2008 I will be a guest on - http://coin-op.tv/. This will be a live taping that airs at 8:00 PM Pacific Time. Here is some information from their homepage: COIN-OP TV LIVE launched in 2006 as part of TheStream.TV network as a founding show. It is the second longest running show on the network with one of the largest loyal followings. Highlights from the live show include interviews with famed video game composer Tommy Tallarico, professional gamer Fatal1ty, the team behind Screw Attack and Director of Operations for Nexon, Min Kim. COIN-OP TV LIVE airs Thursdays at 8PM PST / 11PM EST on www.TheStream.TV My main goal for this interview will be to spread the word of our auction site and reel in some new members. And in doing so, I am also hoping it may lead to bigger and better relationships within the industry. Relationships that could help expedite or spark our growth. It's an exciting time to be apart of what is now the single most successful auction site dedicated to this hobby we all love. Wish me luck

You're getting me worried here I am not seeing anything unusual on my end. Anyone else?

As far as I know everything is cool with the site. There are a couple seller though who aren't using photos for some reason. Let me know if anyone were to find out otherwise. Thanks,

And that's from Maine to California. Nuts!

Well noone is going to be bidding on that one. And the seller still pays. I really love Ebay's model You make it sound like it's a bad thing. This seller tried to pull a fast one on a potential buyer. It didn't work, and now he's stuck with the bill for the listing. Had he been reasonable with the shipping he probably would have gotten bids, sold his items and made money. Instead he tried being a scumbag, and got stuck paying the check. Pretty perfect if you ask me. Touche. And Ebay loves sellers like this as they still get there money. Like I said, a great model

That's not exactly a rousing endorsement for sellers to list there wares there, then. But I digress... I'm not arguing about it, I'm just saying I'd shop more there if I could snipe and wondering if there is a way yet. When there is a way, I will shop more there. That is all. Hey DJP - In defense of the Chuckwagon a bit, it mirrors Ebay to a T. The more desireable the item is the more interest there is in it and the higher it goes. The more common items may have to be relisted a few times before getting bids and selling. And I have seen a fair share of good deals on Ebay lately - things selling far below what they used to sell for. I imagine the economy has some things to do with this, also. Things they are a changin'. We have had tons of things sell extrememly high. I for one sold a boxed Atari 5200 for $205 on the Chuckwagon. Never would have got that high on Ebay in my opinion. You have been a member since the beginning so you should have been seeing some of these success stories. There are lots of them I am not sure how to handle your sniping issue. I am neutral when it comes to this and if someone ends up including the Chuckwagon within the guise of their sniping software or whatever, then so be it. I won't challenge it.
