Damn, obvious but I wouldn't have even noticed it wasn't black. Cool observation. What's the story with the white inserts, never seen one now that you mention it. -
Todd Rogers Autographed Atari 2600 Gorf Cartridge
Parrothead replied to Parrothead's topic in Auction Central
Here is a photo of the Gorf cartridge. There are only two of these in existence and one is owned by Todd. I have also found out that this version of Gorf has been hacked and features Todd Roger's initials in the gorf ship and some other special graphics have been added. This should be going up for auction this coming Thursday so keep an eye out. This will be real cool! -
http://cgi.ebay.com/ATARI-2600-Moonsweeper...1QQcmdZViewItem I've never seen a box for this one before.

I agree and will be working on this as some of their competitors will be close behind according to them. One fact is the "little guys" still have more of a presence on ChaseTheChuckwagon than Ebay considering all the bazillions of members there. Regardless of how you look at it right now there is still far less competition in our marketplace than Ebay. Even with the influx of high-volume sellers. The trick will be to supplement the larger amount of listing with more buyers and that will be up to me. I am working on the big picture here as it relates to blowing this thing wide open. Stay tuned.

I hope your website allows filtering out auctions by seller usernames. Right now you can easily search by username, but not filter out. I am going to look into that as an option though. Good idea! I have been reading about some of the issues with DiscountGames so I will be cautiously optimistic that we won't have similar issues on the Chuckwagon. If they get to many complaints I will take care of the problem. They mentioned that Ebay had an upgrade to their TurboLister that was filled with bugs. One of the problems was that it would automatically relist items that were already sold and they said that reacked havoc in their operation and might have caused some of these shipping delays and wrongly shipped items you guys have spoken about.

DiscountGames has recently announced they will be setting up shop on ChaseTheChuckwagon.com. Look for them to start buying and selling on the Chuckwagon very soon. I am not so sure that is a good thing. We are going to ramp them up slowly. It's funny, how everyone thought we needed more listings to start driving more buyers to the site and I believe this is true, but now there are concerns of the site getting to big to fast. At the same time I share concerns that our smaller members could get stifled if all of a sudden 10,000+ auctions get listed. They have been given strict rules to not plague the featured auctions area and the like. And will also be filling up the DVD areas as well as the vid game categories. I also made sure they would be listing in both auction and "buy it now" formats to mix it up a bit. They realize they will be a significant seller and we have talked about ways to try and have them blend in a bit. I can't turn these types of members away when they want to join, so my goal now is to exploit this to everyone's advantage by bringing more buyer traffic to the site. This will help everyone out especially our members who want more bids and their items to sell for higher prices. I will be making some slight changes to the search function also to fine tune searches a bit better. So, bottom line is that I will see to it that this has a postive effect on the site and all of its members. The future is going to get quite exciting on ChaseTheChuckwagon.

i think mike ended that a while back.. Rick I have ended the $5 credit (it was a $15 credit for about the first 2 months). Only because with free listings there is little risk to try the site out either way as a seller. I still have about $5,000 in credits still sitting in most users accounts for now. And, now that the site it getting populated, it's not quite as important to entice people in. Bottom line with no listing fees and the cheap selling commissions the $5 credit really didn't mean much.

Let the Gavel Fall - A true Video Game auction site
Parrothead replied to a topic in Auction Central
"2. GameGavel.com's name is meant to get the point of the site across, I don't rely on the tactics of an infamous Atari Game to get people to my site. Seeing as how Atari Age would have a lean to the name of CtCW I can see why many people were early adopters for that site." I can assure you there is much more than our "clever" name that is bringing people to the Chuckwagon Like months of constant, daily, dedication to promote and advertise the site to bring traffic so our buyers and sellers see consistant growth. Like cultivating an environment where people want to visit, communicate and buy and sell amongst a collector community. Like the first introduction of forums and podcasts to magnify the fact there is constant activity and growth. Like the creation of an auction site that is inviting and original to draw people in and want to be a part of it. Like constant thinking and brainstorming with members about the bigger picture as it relates to the improvement and promotion of the Chuckwagon. Like maintaining a professional image of the Chuckwagon publically by not taking pot shots at the competition (something I still have never done unless defending the Chuckwagon). Should I go on? Without the dedication mentioned above members and potential members lose confidence and thusly so. That is why the Chuckwagon will surpass 200 members this month and 1,000 members in the next month and a half. If it weren't for comments like the one above, I would be pulling for you and GG and would support you in any way possible as auction alternatives and more choices for gamers is a good thing. God knows there is enough gaming auction business to go around. Quit making excuses and start taking GameGavel by the reigns, promote a positive image, dedicate yourself to its growth and improvement and the rest will take care of itself. Nuff said. -

LMAO! What would you do for a sealed Mr. Do's Castle!
Parrothead replied to Atarimania75's topic in Auction Central
Hey, good about being civil. I'm a cool guy I wrote the guy and he told me that he's not an experienced ebayer, and that he's selling attic finds from childhood or something like this. Look at his other auctions and that's apparent. He seems to feel attacked by wolves considering he got dozens of lowball offers and only ONE warning from someone (prolly here - not me) about getting screwed. I really wish that i didn't bid! HAHA but like i said it really struck a chord. I guess a 500 buck chord. I think there's a HUGE difference between getting a good deal and intentionally screwing someone who is ignorant about these games. karma anyone? Please I understand some people want it bad... but dude, it has value... why not let it go for market value. I really like this community, and I know I'm not here much. I can't really get into it much with my other obligations, but I'd like to check in every once in a while. I really hope my comments don't piss anyone off. I've made good friends here. Point is even if I were full on in the hobby I'd behave the same. So cmon yall... can I get some backing on it. out and peace (please? ) OH, and CTCW.... I'm gonna send some goodies to ya that you can use as giveaways for promo on your efforts of the auction site. Not sealed mr. do's castle... but worthwile none the less. peace again. school started and physics is nutso hard so I'm out! lata -mars p.s. sorry again Hey Mars, Thanks for your consideration and support of the Chuckwagon. Can't wait to see what goodies you've got for our members -

And predictibly its back for an ungodly high amount : Never gonna sell for that much and Ebay will love taking their listing fees on that starting price. That is why I usually lay low because more often then someone getting a good deal on it, greed sets in and this happens. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...52BSI%26otn%3D4 -

I've actually done lots of recruiting from Ebay. Usually if I win an auction there, I will let the seller know about the Chuckwagon -

As a potential bidder, I think its always best to lay low in circumstances like this. Nothing like alerting the Seller they have something super rare and seeing the price go up or the auction get cancelled and relisted. -
Yep, see even on Ebay prices can still be low. These would have sold just as well on the Chuckwagon I believe, maybe even better But I am happy with the pick up.
-
Well, just picked these up on the other auction site: Springer Jawbreaker Miner 2049er Miner 2049er II Threshold Anyone have some of the others for sale?
