Come to the Chuckwagon. The friendly, less-expensive, less greedy, more fun auction community with a thriving collector community
Here is a thread on our forums discussing the success of some of our members:
http://www.chasingthechuckwagon.com/upload...isplay.php?f=17
The timing of launch for ChaseTheChuckwagon.com couldn't have been better. I couldn't have asked for a better circumstance.
Gosh Darnit - Mods - please move to the thread I intended this to be in before I catch all kinds of flack. Place in More Ebay Shenanigans Thread, PLEASE. It seems I can't drink Arbor Mist and post at the same time

Well, it seems to be spelled out here, although you have to follow other links to get all the details:http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200808.shtml#2008-08-20070116

Cut and pasted from a post over on Digital Press:
As of 9/16, FVF for BIN for Books, Music, DVDs & Movies and Video Games will follow the following sceme:
$1.00-$50.00: 15.00% (was 8.75%).
$50.01 - $1000.00: 15.00% of the first $50, 5% for the rest (was 8.75%, 3.5%).
Over $1000.01: 15.00% for the first $50, 5% for 50-1000, and 2% for everything above that (was 8.75%, 3.5%, 1.5%).
They are lowering the insertion fee though to a flat $0.15...
Books, Music, DVDs & Movies and Video Games
$1.00 - $9.99 was $0.25
$10.00 - $24.99 was $0.35
$25.00 - $49.99 was $1.00
$50.00 - $199.99 was $2.00
$200.00 - $499.99 was $3.00
$500.00 or more was $4.00
Plus, they are instituting a maximum shipping charge. You MUST offer one shipping option that is less than the following:
Accessories Accessories $6.00
Games Games $4.00
Internet Games Games > Guild Wars $6.00
Games > World of Warcraft $3.00
Software & PC Versions $6.00
Other Other $4.00
Systems Systems $15.00
Vintage Games Vintage Games $6.00
Wholesale Lots Accessories $10.00
Console Systems $50.00
Games $9.00
Other $9.00
But wait, there's more:
"...checks and money orders will no longer be accepted on eBay..."
"So starting in late October, 2008, we are moving to 100% electronic payments - credit cards, ProPay, or PayPal."
So, selling a $50 game on eBay used to cost $6.375. Now it will cost $7.65. Don't forget, you have to accept PayPal, so you have to add on an additional fee of $1.75, bringing the new total to $9.40. Say goodbye to 18.8% of your money...

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/200808040940562.htmlThis should make life somewhat easier for sellers, but I still haven't listed a single item since ebay UK increased its FVF to 9% for video games...
I hope you consider http://www.ChaseTheChuckwagon.com for some of your auction sales. We have been signing up quite a few folks from your neck of the woods

Your avitar trips me out, by the way.

Yeah. I saw this about 2 minutes after they posted it on eBay. It's gonna go pretty high I believe. Nice though!Last one sold on Ebay in June of 2007 for $1725.23. Since it is 14 months later I predict it will sell for $1,900. I am getting a lot wiser. Originally I thought this was going to go for $3,500 last time around. Boy was I wrong.

It's amazing the games that I still have never heard of. This is one of them.

It includes all the goodies that were in the release, the cartridge, the Rubbermaid sandwich box, the certificate of authenticity, the novelty toys and candy, and more. All in excellent condition.
Bid high and bid often.
You people here on AA are going to make me go broke with all this great stuff you have been listing. I'm definitely in on this one. Kaboom is my favorite Atari 2600 game hands down. Thanks for listing !!

Anybody have for sale this game from cge???CPUWIZ just sold some of these on http://www.ChaseTheChuckwagon.com. That is why you always want to check us out. Lots of exclusive repros and hacks getting sold there. Although these looked like they just came from Coleco in a white Coleco cart with meticulously recreated Looping Coleco label. It was awesome to say the least. Maybe he will be listing some more of them.
-
You mean both carts? No, that Midnight Magic was definitely f'ed up. It even looked strange in the photo on the auction. Two big holes in the corners and stripped off label. Not sure what was going on there
Definitely refund material. If a refund isn't given for this in a timely fashion they may be the first member kicked of the swift moving Chuckwagon. Paints a great picture doesn't it
-
Wouldn't be laughable to me especially if you spent any money on it. Hope you didn't spend anything like the price he got on ebay.Dropped a hundred on it. That's why I instantly filed dispute with PAypal. The midnight Magic cart I ordered form the same seller is also a fake. The case has been mangled so badly there's holes in places there shouldn't be and it doesn't actually fit into a 2600.
I have contacted him and will do my best to make sure a refund is given for this purchase. I agree with how the buyer handled this as it was a steep purchase. I went and looked at their Ebay feedback and saw they (atarimaster) had some positive feedback from other buyers of this same cartridge. Any chance it could have just been a faulty hack job on this one particular cart?

I knew this was a bit hard to find, but had no idea it was bringing the kind of money it has been bringing (on eBay).

On ChaseTheChuckwagon.com there are No Listing Fees so in a sense we are only getting paid if your items sell. Also our selling percentages are significantly lower than Ebay. And you can upload up to 24 photos in your listing at no charge.
As far as items and bids, our site mirrors Ebay alot in that common items don't sell quite as fast as rare or more desireable items. Sometimes you have to relist items a few or many times before they sell. Remember, there are no listing fees so not a big problem.
We've listed 8,223 items since launching on March 24th, 2008
Of those we have had 1,859 of them close through this evening or 23% have successfully closed. I seriously doubt 23% of all of Ebay's auctions end successfully. Do a search for Atari and look at how many items have gone unsold multiply that times all the bazillions of auctions they run and you will be amazed. Don't be fooled by Ebay thinking everything they host sells. It doesn't.
These 1,859 auctions have totaled $22,598 in actual sales dollars.
We've had 53,031 Searches since we launched meaning someone typed a specific term into a search box over 53,000 times and we've had 132,225 Item Views meaning someone has actually clicked into read about an auction over 132,000 times since launch.
So I really couldn't ask for anything more at this point. Things are continuing to grow and more and more people are registering everyday. You don't have to quit using Ebay completely, but try putting up a couple dozen auctions on the Chuckwagon and see what happens. Keep in mind the more desireable harder to find items have been doing real well on our site.
I hope you will give it a try.
