  1. Just uploaded this weeks Auction Talk episode. Give it a listen to see what's happening on the fastest growing vid game auction site for classic and modern gamers:

    http://www.chasingthechuckwagon.com/Auction%20Talk.mp3

We have had tons of items get listed this week from all eras. Classic to modern. Should be something for everyone up there now.

Also, we have started a new contest where you could win $150 in Cold Hard CA$H.

You can read about this new contest here:

We are up to 597 members through tonight and so far we have hosted about 4,000 auctions and sold over $15,000 in goods since we launched on March 24th, 2008. This is cool, because this is $$ that would have been sold on Ebay

I hope you will consider selling your old and new items on the Chuckwagon. You have nothing to lose to try and will help continue to grow and make this a great option for gamers everywhere.

  2. Here's the big one. Now you NES folks with deep pockets can nab this one :)

The Chuckwagon has been getting its share of great items lately.

This seller bought the $50 Lifetime Seller Membership and will more than likely have it paid for with this one auction. Then its free forever from here on out for him.

  3. Sweet. If I didn't already have a boxed one... :D

Yeah, but as Rick said yesterday, "they'll both fit into the box". Aside, which one looks better? :P

    Cheers for the plug Mike.

I like the white coleco carts best. Looks like it would have looked should it have been released. It will go real nice with my Cabbage Patch Kids :)

  4. Here is an interesting thread discussing the selling costs on CTCW vs. Ebay. Please notice how many of their items are selling. I think many of you will be surprised. This is proof that a new auction site (done correctly), can and will work and compete for Ebay's business.

  5. Hi Parrothead,

Great site you have there. You may want to consider banning Hozer atari games on there. I see a Motorodeo up there right now.

His first auction didn't mention this was a repro and now it does so I am ok with that. What's the difference if he offers this or a Music Machine. He does need to tell everyone in the listing that its a repro however. If not, I will end his auctions.

  6. This came up in the "thrift finds" thread, actually. What's you rarest find, and how much did you pay? Did you keep it or trade it off?

Also, for those who have some of their original games, which game did you get back in the day that is now the rarest? What's the most valuable one from back then?

My rarest "in the wild" finds are some R5 and R6 games.

River Raid II in near mint condition for $1

Star Wars: The Arcade Game x2, each was $1, traded one for a Stargunner cart

Sears pic labels of Gunslinger ($4), Missile Command ($1), and Night Driver ($1)

My rarest game that I still have from the early '80s is Party Mix, purchased by my Dad through mail order. I don't know how much he paid. He also got the Official Frogger, but threw out the retail box. I purchased another box later, and that game is easily the most valuable of the "originals" I still have left. I also have a my original Phaser Patrol and the Supercharger it was packed with.

$1 Vulture Attack T-Handle at the So Cal Swaps about 3 years ago. Sold it :(

  7. I have to say this is turning into one of my favorites games to play. Especially when having party. People flock to this game. In order to have the complete experience you will NEED the voice Synth module or it won't be near as fun. The sound of the lobbing Boulder as it sours through he air is priceless.

If you haven't checked this game out, do yourself a favor and pick up a cheap O2 somewhere and get this game. It's the only game I have for the system and it should get way more love than it gets. If this would have been on the Atari 2600 it would have been a much bigger hit.

    Incoming !

Exactly (3) Months To The Day ChaseTheChuckwagon.com Has Just Hit The 500 Member Mark.

I want to extend a warm thank you to all our inital 500 members for helping us attain this milestone in such short time. My goal is to have 2000 members on the Chuckwagon by March 24th, 2009 and so far we are right on track.

It will be up to us, the initial users to keep this Chuckwagon heading West by continuing to use the site whenever we are able and also promoting the site when and where appropriate to bring in more members. Please tell everyone you know who collects and plays games to Jump on the Chuckwagon Bandwagon.

I will continue to do as much as I can to promote the site in different areas and means to continue feeding it with new eyes and new traffic for our Seller community.

    Thanks, again.

    So Cal Mike
